Ya i deleted my google account and they went away. Then I re-added my google account without syncing Picasa and google photos.

Settings/accounts and sync/select Google and uncheck Google photos and picasa web, After go to application manager (settings) select the "ALL" tab, scroll down till you see gallery and clear data and force stop. Reboot phone and all that should be left in your gallery are your camera pictures and anything that you may have dragged and dropped from your computer or downloaded from your phone!

I guess it's not possible on this phone to see it by date (not by each pic time/date)

Thank You. This worked. Forgot to clear Gallery app cache. This was starting to annoy the S**t out of me.
You can also hide that stuff with the menu options in the app itself.

[Q] Slow gallery

Did anyone have the slow gallery problem on Galaxy Note II? Specially when changing wallpapers using the settings. Is there any solution to it?
My gallery has suddenly gotten extremely slow too. Started yesterday. Tried clearing the gallery cache but that didn't help. I did some searching and haven't found a solution yet. If I do I'll let you know.
Very slow gallery

Mines been like it for ages, slow to the point of unusable, searched and searched but no solution at all, its really annoying now, tried differant Kernels and rom's but no luck.
Through Settings/Application Manager/All/Gallery I cleared the cache. I then used a file manager (Total Commander) to manually delete the .thumbmails directory. I also turned Facebook Gallery syncing through Settings/Accounts/Facebook.
My phone automatically rebuilt the thumbnails and after maybe half a day Gallery sped up to it' usual speed.
haven't noticed any problems on my end, seems to be as fast as day 1
John
Mine is slow as ****e as well. I assumed it was something to do with the Facebook galleries.
I use Quickpic though instead.
ETA: lbloo's solution worked for me although I had to clear data rather than just cache on mine.

I did it. Cleared cache. Cleared all files related to Gallery. But still it is very slow. Specially while changing wallpaper and picking picture from gallery. Thanks anyway
Now it appears that after doing above steps and I cannot select a picture for setting wallpapers. (Long pressing on screen and selecting wallpapers from gallery does not show any pictures, only place holders for the pictures. )
I have like 6400 photos on my SGN2 and i can't feel the slow init

I found it really slows down when using a custom rom. Redpill kernel made a difference though and speeds things up again.

but i just flash it with the official stock firmware and restore it to defaut factory settings. what am i doing wrong
After factory reset gallery speed improved. But still selecting a wallpaper from gallery by long pressing the homescreen is toooo slow.
I was also having a horrendous experience with the Gallery, the page would always jump up to the top and be extremely slow to load.
Solution: I used Titanium Backup to freeze the "AllShare Service", now it's all smooth!

This did the trick, AllShare is apparently trying to look at the photos to do something with with the "Change player" option, disable Allshare (which is useless anyway IMO as it's far too slow) and it sorts it out, gallery is MUCH faster and the multi-second hangs are totally gone.
AllshareCast keeps working which I actually _do_ use.
Hopefully Samsung will fix this in the future to make it useful, but for now, disabling AllShare with TB does the job.
I don't have this issue with my phone but I don't either keep more than 300 pics or video in my gallery. But I use to clear gallery data through sdmaid app

Under settings and accounts, tap the account to choose which items get synced; Picasa is one of them.

The lag issue is because of the update which has bugs, even disabling or removing bloatwares is not making it lag free. Nothing cant be done in this case i think, or you have to revert to older version of the ROM. The problem may be because of the new drivers,
And about Gallery, is it just simply showing or is it really consuming that much space in SD card
I once read @iceyhotguy's post about this gallery bug... basically it is solely Samsung's fault and we can do nothing to fix it. Try using another gallery app (QuickPic works). And clear the gallery's data but never open it again or simply disable/uninstall it... it won't take up space anymore..

Its one of the bugs of 4.2.2 I guess you can't do anything else but wipe data and cache all the time!
What you can do is that download any 4.4.2 ROM or download any other suitable gallery from the playstore

I can confirm the gallery is much better in the latest na5 update for region SER. Not perfect, but easily as good as it was on 4.1.

Device reports wrong memory sizes

Hi guys.
A friend of mine gave me to take a look at her Grand Duos yesterday (now that sounds weird ). She said that although she had very little applications installed the handset would not allow her to install anything anymore even it was a mere application of some kilobytes.
I went to application management and storage and noticed something very weird. Although it is an 8GB handset (no external SD card attatched) and although the installed applications are indeed very few (Viber , Facebook, Instagram and another 2-3 apps) the system reports outrageous numbers in her data storage like 32GB or more which is simply impossible.
She is non rooted on stock version and the issue began since she tried to upgrade OTA to the latest version (I assume this must be 4.2.2). I own an XPERIA so I am copmletely unfamiliar with the Samsung forums and the general samsung tips-tricks and issues. Is it fixable. Is there a way to eliminate that issue? What are my options?
Sorry if I am asking something that has been answered before but due to lack of time it is impossible for me to look over tens/hundreds of forum pages to find something similar. I'd appreciate any help you can provide.
Thanks in advance.
Once I also got the same problem...
Go to app manager.... And then go to ALL applications Tab.... Press the menu key... You will see a Popup menu in which you will see.... SORT BY SIZE... select that... You will see at first it would be gallery which will be of 15gb or else.... Clear data of gallery.... And your problem would be fixed...

Great I'll try that. I assume this will also resolve the issue during which the phone won't allow her to install more applications, right?
Supposedly the reason why she cannot install even the smallest app right now is that the system detects an excess of 32GB of stored content. So once this is "cured" then everything will be ok.

Its because of gallery app its a bug actually....Follow what siddhu2199 said... If that doesnt work just got to setting - application manger - search gallery app and disable it...clear the data too and see if it works...u can enable it if u have any probs... I personally tried it and it had worked for me... If u want to view pics u can download QUICKPIC app which is very light and Awesome but after disabeling default gallery app u will not be able to view u r photos straight away from camera...
