One day, after turning off then back on, my HTC One M8 stopped getting texts. I could send texts just fine, but couldn't receive texts. I then tried to restart my phone, update the PRL and then I finally tried to update the profile. Bingo it worked. But now, every time I reset my phone or turn it off, I have to update the profile to get texts. It happened again today where I wasen't getting texts all day. Is there something I can do to fix this? I'm on 4.4.4 latest everything for Sprint. Thanks so much in advance.

Has anybody else had problems receiving texts after updating to 2.2. I have hard reset twice after the upgrade and i still get problems, texts dont come in until you've turned the phone off then on again.
I haven't noticed this but then I wouldn't if I wasn't getting the messages
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
I've been having this problem for the last 2 weeks, text messages not coming through till hours later, or only once a reboot has been performed or a call has been made, and sometimes not at all. Obviously for me it's not froyo linked as it was happening before the update but I have a few friends on the same network as me (O2) who have been having the same problem so I have raised the issue with the network.
Well, I just realized that I am not receiving any SMS messages. I am able to send them alright as I tested with my Google Voice account, however, texts are simply not coming in. I don't know if this has anything to do with rooting the phone which I did earlier this morning with Zedomax's kernel.
I have tried updating the profile numerous times as well as countless reboots. No success!
Any other ideas before I spend hours with Sprint on the phone?!
So when I woke up today, my phone decided it no longer wanted to send or receive text messages. I contacted sprint, reset data, updated my profile and prl, did a factory reset on the phone and nothing worked. I had a similar issue last night but fixed it by going into airplane mode and then turning it off. Now I have to get it replaced.
Any one else have this issue?
My phone is completely stock btw
UPDATE: My phone just randomly fixed itself lol Just received around 30 texts all at once.
Mine is currently doing this. I did a battery pull and it didn't affect it. I haven't contacted Sprint yet, but maybe I'll have to if it doesn't get rectified soon.
My wife and I both experienced something similar with our EVO (except we were able to send messages at least) and had to delete the SMS database to fix it.
Waited patiently for my HTC one (m8) to arrive. Was sitting on my doorstep when I arrived home from work today. Quickly went to work transferring all the things I needed from old phone. Been at it for 3-4 Hours. Everything seemed to be working fine, texts and making calls. Started to get people asking me why I wasn't answering my phone.
Come to find out I am not receiving phone calls. Awesome. reset all settings, reactivate. They have no clue what the problem is, told me to go see a tech.
Great phone but I am beyond pissed I have to deal with some unknown issue that I am sure they won't be able to fix at the store. Make sure to test and see if you guys are receiving calls on your phone. I can receive voicemails just can not tell if someone is calling me.
Anyone else have this problem? Have a fix?
Why didn't you wait for the M9?
Go to Settings -> Mobile Data -> Network Mode -> 3G Only.
I'm having the same problem with my M9, and this is a temporary fix that I read about. It worked for me, and I had multiple friends test it in order to ensure that it's not going to fail on me. Who is your carrier?
My HTC One m9 stopped working around 11am and it is 11:04 pm and I have tried everything. The data just won't work. It says "use my data plan when wifi isn't available" I don't know what that means and I'm honestly getting angry. I have tried resetting it and updating it and I just can't get it to work. I can't receive or send texts or calls. Please help me.
HTCm one 9 ...my text messages are not coming through on my phone but I can send them.
My wife's Capitvate Glide stopped receiving texts a couple of days ago. The phone is running stock ICS, not rooted. She can send texts just fine, and she can make and receive phone calls. ATT says they don't see anything wrong on their end. I've tried rebooting, pulling the SIM and battery, but it still doesn't receive texts.
Hi
I found that as a possible answer:
AT&T indicated that it was a problem with the network registration, given every piece of my phone's communication worked except for receiving SMS. This turned out to be true. The solution was to put the sim card in another phone, which overrode the network registration for my number. After about a minute, the second phone received all of the texts that the first had not been able to get, and then I could move the sim card back into my regular phone and receive texts as normal.

The woman at the ATT store did that and it did fix it, sort of. Later in the day the phone was still receiving texts but could not send them - it just said "Failed". I pulled the battery for about 15-20 minutes and that issue was fixed.
I think we'll be getting a new phone for my wife soon...
