[Q] Screen PPI is 320 not 267 ? - Galaxy Note 3 Neo Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I bought my Neo couple of days ago from the grey market and apparently it's a device from Italy. To my surprise it came with KK and the screen ppi is 320 not 267 which makes it a retina display. I wonder if there is someone else who has the same ppi on his neo screen.

It's standard in European edition i think ☺

[Q] Ppi pixel density

According to gsmarena wave 2 has more ppi pixel density than galaxy s
Is it means that wave 2 produce little bit more sharper image than galaxy s though galaxy s has better screen technology. I need to know what does exactly ppi pixel density means..
Best Regards !!
PPI means pixel per inch, so yes Wave 2 has way more sharper image than Galaxy S.

Subpixel density

Hey Everyone,
As we all know, the Note 2 is a 5.55" inch screen and has 10% less pixels, leading to a 7% lower DPI. (264.5 vx 285, roughly).
My question is this, though: Given that the new pentile arrangement is RGB and not RGBG, doesn't that technically mean we have
a significantly higher subpixel density?
Isn't the old subpixel count: 1280 * 800 * 2?
and the new one: 1280 * 720 * 3?

Yes. Yes it does.
Wait....so the PPI is higher because of RGB and not PenTile?

if you do a simple ppi calculation , without taking into consideration that the note 1 is pentile , note 1 has a slightly bigger number of pixels per inch , but that is a pentile , not an rgb arrangement .
267ppi on the new Galaxy Note II. BUT, with non-pentile arrangement it will 'appear' to have a sharper image quality.
Even though the screen is .2" larger diagonally, it only has a 2% larger surface area.
I am waiting for the 32/64 gigs titanium grey to be available at emag Romania sometime at the begining of november .

The PPI is lower for the Note 2. BUT that's only because the Note 1 cheats the PPI by only having 2 out of 3 of the sub pixels in a traditional screen. This is one reason why the HTC One X's 720p screen (IPS LCD in RGB) looks significantly sharper than the SGS3 or even the Galaxy Nexus's 720p screen (OLED in Pentile).
Even though the PPI may drop slightly, you'll have significant clarity improvement especially with text and hardlines like in what a webpage displays. On the other hand, one may not notice the difference when looking at pictures or viewing movies.
The new Note 2 will have LONNNGGG awaited RGB OLED. No other phone that has OLED has had an RGB Matrix [Edit: ok, I mean HD OLED displays]
Pentile (7 pixles)

RGB (5 pixles)

[Q] Screen resolution

Is possible to change the screen resolution from 480 x 800 to something smaller or the pixel density from 252 to something smaller to increase the performance in games? Because there are some devices with smaller screen resolution with adreno 200 that perform better in games.

screen question

I have a galaxy tab s 8.4 and a note 4, spec wise the screens are the same, but the tab s screen looks so much better, can someone tell me why, what am I missing?
The resolution is 1600 x 2560 pixels with ~359 ppi pixel density vs the not 4's 1440 x 2560 pixels with ~515 ppi pixel density.

Is the Screen Resolution of the Mate 20x Amazing?

I'm thinking of buying this phone. But I need to know hows the screen resolution. Is it amazing? Is it as great as the resolution on the samaung a70?
Both resolutions are FHD+
a70 has a 6.7 inch screen with 398 PPI
Mate 20 X has a 7.2 inch screen with 346 PPI
Technically a70 is a little sharper but hardly noticeable to the naked eye
Also, Mate 20 X's screen (18.7:9) is thicker compared to a70 (20:9)
All in all, from just a screen perspective it's better to get the Mate 20 X because you're getting a bigger screen with just a small reduction in pixel density. The quality is still amazing.
A70 is much cheaper. Maybe get a80 as a good comparison.
