Do not install official 4.3 unless you wont plan to use any custom rom or downgrade to an earlier version of android!
You'll have knox active on 4.3

Root MJ9 without triggering KNOX

Hi everyone,
I sent my Note 2 for a repair through the warranty, and I just got it back updated to 4.3 with N7100XXUEMJ9. I found this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2500823
but from what I understand, it seems it can only work if I am on a lower version and then upgrade to MJ5 and root.
So what I am asking is, does anyone know how to root a Note2 already on MJ9 without triggering KNOX?
Or can I just downgrade to MJ5 and follow the thread instructions? although from what I read I cannot downgrade without triggering KNOX. right?

Thanks for answering.
I stumbled upon that thread before, but it's only for rooting. I guess there's no chance to flash a recovery and custom rom yet, is there?
Anyway, if I root as described, how can I unroot and more important, reset the counter to 0 and official if I need to return for the warranty?
Once you trigger KNOX warranty void, there is no ways currently to "reset" that status.

If your phone is running a stock 4.3 bootloader, you cannot downgrade the bootloader, only the OS.

Do i need to downgrade my bootloader to downgrade to 4.2.1? All I want to do is revert back to 4.2.1 OS.
Do you have access to the stock AT&T 4.2.1 ROM? I looked on sammobile and couldn't find it.
You may be able to downgrade to 4.2.1 using mobile Odin but you would need root access on your current ROM.
Do you have knox on your phone? If you do, knox may interfere with obtaining root. Also, tripping the Knox counter will void any warranty left on your phone.

No i do not have access to 4.2.1 ROM that why i was asking here to see what i could do. I thought with Odin you could flash stock firmware with out being rooted. No i do not have Knox on my phone.

You don not need to be rooted to flash with Odin but you need a ROM that can be flashed via Odin. Unless AT&T released full a 4.2.1 ROM, it's unlikely you will find one on the Internet.
If you try to flash a stock ROM using desktop Odin that includes an older bootloader, you will probably brick your phone.

You can upgrade from NB4 to NE6 without tripping the KNOX
counter if you use Towelroot for rooting.
Here is the Towelroot link which you can read:

Good luck!

Debloated rom that not trips knox

Hello! Is there any TW lollipop room that's debloated and can be flashed with Odin without tripping KNOX?
I don't want to lose my warranty.
Unfortunately no. Only unmodified original Samsung software can be flashed without tripping KNOX. The whole point of KNOX is to identifiy modified/unofficial software. You can manually debloat the stock rom using apps like Package Disabler Pro.

Just flash whatever ROM you want. This probably will trip Knox, but who said Knox equals warranty? Please. If Samsung refuses to service your hardware because you rooted it, such claim will never stand in court. In other words, saying thatr Knox == warranty is BS.

Flashing a ROM(system image) only will not trip knox(or shouldn't) if you flash with FLASHFIRE.
However you need root.
