[Q] video recording sound issues in left channel - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everybody (reading this).
As decribed in the title my lg g3 has sound issues when recording video in any resolution. It's hissing and buzzing in left channel only, right channel has all the good stuff.
So what is this about? Does it have two mics, left and right? Is the left faulty?
I have tried different version of os 4.4.2 and 5.0 and a costum rom and it seems to be the same. I have looked inside the phone and seen some tiny tiny tiny components that could be mics, one in the buttom and one in the top. They don't look replaceable!
I hope it's a software issue. Everythin else is fine. Music sound and calling sound and mic sound for calling. I've had the phone for 6 weeks and I have just now noticed the problem.
Anyone?

Solution! XCam LG
So I found a solution, as mentioned in the title, it's XCam LG.
Wau...I'm happy now! Great crispy sound in both channels and no static noise like hizzing and buzzing sounds. Awesome!
Only issue right now is that in the app the visual video control panel seems to disappear when choosing video profile.

[Q] Camera recording sound

Hi,
Quick question about the way this device records sound. Its by far the best phone ive ever used to record sound, however i keep running into a problem with volume levels. It never stays constant and fluctuates depending on whether the sound is loud or quiet.
Now that wont make sense at first so heres a link to a video i shot in the studio with some friends.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/zjcbpfrutvvgher/lemon eyes - 12-06-12.mp4
Note at around 2:20 in the volume changes quite dramatically. I assure you, in real life the volume of the sound was constant throughout the song, the only change was that both guitars had stopped playing, thus decreasing the decibel level slightly (the guitar sounds at that point were from the effects pedals), which surely wouldve made it quieter if anything
I dont believe this a manufacturing defect as ive had it on the past 4 HOX's i owned, but perhaps more to do the way the sound is processed. It is the same result recording in mono/stereo/720/1080 etc.
EDIT Just remembered, i had to turn my speakers up all the way to hear that properly so the recording level is far too quiet as it is. I can barely hear it through the phones speaker.
Yeah got same problem,
I did turn the stereo off in video options which did improve it. Give it a go and turn the Stereo feature off.
The sound was not dropping as much,
I tested this out at a footy match.

Thats a temporary fix i suppose, it did improve it though it didnt fix it for me.
Does anybody know if this is something that is likely to be resolved by a software update? Or can anybody recommend any apps to record this type of thing with if it is a software issue.

[Q] Muffled sound a few seconds into recorded videos

Hi.
Had my G3 for about a week and have noticed a few issues with the sound quality on the device. One being the hizzing/buzzing noise present when media is playing when headphones are connected which I have seen documented elsewhere.
However, I think that this issue is slightly more pressing for me, whenever I record a video from the camera and play it back, the sound quality is fine for the first few seconds until it becomes muffled and quieter with sound no longer sounding clear or crisp.
Here is a video that I have shot that the issue obviously present.. It's a shame that this sound issue is present, because the videos the G3 takes in 4K with OIS look fantastic.
The device I have is the D855 (16GB/2GB, UK/EUR variant) version and this is with the stock camera app on stock LG software.
Anyone having this issue that could potentially shed some light on it, would rooting and using the modified camera app make any difference.
Hi
Did you find a solution to the issue described? Even though your link does not work anymore I think my phone has the same issue. When video recording the left channel is full of hissing/buzzing noise.
Edit: Found a solution for my problem maybe it can help you too: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/help/video-recording-sound-issues-left-t3008839

Callee: very bad audio when calling

Recently I have been getting very bad sound when calling someone.
I can hear the callee perfectly but they can barely hear me, I sound like a 'fish in the water' or with a very big 'echo'.
This has been the case after updating to Lollipop.

I Am Assuming you are using Stock Lollipop FW from Sony
Head to Settings>Call
Enable Microphone Noise Suppression, Set the Equalizer to Bright and enable the Speaker Voice Enhancement
Also make sure you are on Max Volume when In-calls

Nope, I only tried the solution suggested above, I have yet to encounter the problem again.
I just tried same thing with equalizer. I will see if this will work. @Devenda, any news since 2 days ago?

Nope, still stable, I tested it but the audio was clear.
Problem is that this issue comes and go's randomly, so all I can do at this moment is wait...
None of the suggestions described worked for me. This bugged me so much I was forced to run to RR rom.. Problem solved but I miss Sony's great battery life ??
I have the same problem.
Only the equaliser was different (normal), I've changed it to bright and will see.
Don't you think it is a problem with radio reception ? I'm not sure but I think I have not the same number of bars than before. I haven't got an other 4G phone to compare.
Equaliser doesn't work for me.
I have changed prefered network, it was 4g prefered. I've changed to 3g. It seems to be working.
Can somebody try ?
I solved my problem during the calls when i unchecked the improvement of voice
If you have tried all the other options and still not working but you have v4a sound mod installed, this might help - http://forum.xda-developers.com/sony-xperia-z1-compact/help/viper4android-deactivates-mic-t3124764
I had same problem after update to lollipop and try everything mentioned before and nothing helped. Then I low down speaker volume ( volume key down) while call is active and that worked for me. I suppose that lollipop have some problem with duplexer. Level of sound in speaker is litle low but at least caller can understand me normally.

Greetings, I hope you are fine.
I'll just let you know my experience with that, I had a similar one to yours. Instead my voice was stuttering and ghostly, like something came out of Paranormal activities. xD
The only solution I found to this was that it was a problem with the hardware itself, IE. the mic of your phone. Maybe you wanna give your phone to the warranty company and see what they say about it. In my case, they fixed it and it's working fine now.
I hope I helped
Yours.

Lg g3 audio quality when recording video is awful

So I have my lg g3 running cm13 and whenever I record video it sounds awful. Always a slight static in the background and volume dips at times. I've went back to complete stock and still had the same issue, so its not the rom. I've read about the noise suppression and i'm wondering if that could be the issue. Any help is appreciated. (Also ive had the screen and digitizer replaced, don't know if that could have anything to do with it)

video audio is terrible

hello everyone.
i have a razer phone 1 and i noticed when recording a video everything in the background sounds very weird, i really don't know how to describe it. I downloaded open camera and under audio source i selected unprocessed which completely fixed the problem, however the volume is much lower, you can still make it out and it's really not that bad, but it would be nice to not have to switch between apps for recording a video and using the camera. Can anyone with the same phone help me shed some light on this situation.
Listen to background noise in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nIBu2GvF_Jc
that is what i'm talking about.
