It's not showing up on the menu, but I could have swore I was able to multi-window this in the demo unit in the store. Also seems like it works on the Note's as well, so I would assume if it works for one device, it would work for all of them.

Gang, after Samsung decided to advertise the hell out of Group Cast. It looks like an interesting and useful feature so I decided to give it a shot. First off, it was difficult to setup, something like 15 clicks or so to get two devices connected. I could barely figure it out myself, much less expect my wife or my friends who are not tech savvy to set it up. Also, it only works between GSIII's. The odds of two GSIII's getting together, well, you can calculate it. My previous phone was a GNex, and I discovered this app called Tapestry, and it is a really polished photo sharing app and it connects in 3 clicks. It also has nifty features like "swipe to download" to directly download images peer-to-peer, and also synchronized pinch/zoom. It also works with all Android devices, not just GSIII's. Has anyone else played with Group Cast? I'd like to get your thoughts. Has anyone else played with Tapestry? I'd like to get your comparison/contrast on it as well.
I recently had a Kindle Fire HD LTE. I rooted it, installed the google marketplace, and was able to install the majority of my google play android apps.
I then saw there was a student discount on the basic 8.9" model, going for $200 less than I spent on the LTE version. Considering I had activated, but never even used the LTE plan, I figured it was a no-brainer to just go pure wifi.
I rooted the exchanged model, installed the store, and found that a large number of very basic apps from google play were no longer listed as compatible.
I believe the marketplace I had on the first version was quite old. It had the app listing that looked curved, and small. Clearly from before tablets were common. The Google Play store I have now is the modern version, common to regular Android tablets.
The strange thing is that it's the same device, essentially, and these were very basic apps (news, weather, etc) that ran fine on the LTE.
Is there a way for me to get my marketplace to allow me to install those apps again? I realize there are ways to modify files in order to look like a different device, but something else must be happening here, considering the LTE version was compatible (one that is far less common of a style), and the wifi only one was not (the most common 8.9").
Any thoughts on why it's giving me a hard time on the wifi-version, using the more recent play store?
//One thing I was thinking about was the fact that the LTE version has GPS built in. Most of these apps probably had, in one way or another, an ability to use GPS. On the other hand, none of them required GPS to function properly, and 99% of the time I had GPS disabled. Should I risk tricking my google play store marketplace into thinking it's the LTE version? I've heard some risky things about doing things like that, and would be in over my head.
EDIT: I renamed the device in the build.drop, to the same name as the LTE edition, and nothing changed. I'm not sure if there's more to edit than the basic device model name, but that didn't fix it.

Hey all,
Verizon LG G3, just purchased a couple of days ago. I'm beginning to notice some apps that simply aren't available on the App store. Most notably, ESPN Sportscenter. Anyone know why, and how to fix? I read somewhere that it could potentially be because the app isn't compatible with the Quad HD screen?
The app itself is highly likely to work fine, the issue will be that the Play Store entry will need to be updated by the dev effectively ticking a new box to say that it works on the resolution of the G3.
That is all they need to do.
Best way to do this is to email to ask them to do it, although you might find that larger companies just ignore you, but we have to try.
I had the same problem with MS Office so I looked on the internet for the apk and it installed works fine.
Same thing happened with the DNA, but much more apps. It'll take a few months for some.
Mates,
I don't know if the Kevo/Kwikset app folks are dumb, lazy or if there is some fee they have to pay to support new phones, but hear my tale of woe, with a happy ending (a minstrel on a mandolin is playing in the background as you read this).
I put Kevo locks everywhere when they first came out with android support. When they work, it is one less key I have to carry, one more thing my everpresent phone can do. They were announced as partners for the Gear S2 which, as we all know, is bull. The tech writers who said it worked were clearly Samsung lapdogs.
The Kevo website says that the app won't work on the Galaxy S7 edge but it did. Right from the start, right out of the gate. Then T-Mobile rolled out a patch last week and it stopped. Nothing. Bupkus. Google Play says the app is not supported by my device.
A little bit of searching led to the actual newest Kevo apk. I downloaded it, deleted the old app, installed it and voila! Back in business. The new version supports remote open and close, which I haven't checked yet- I bought an upgraded lock but it isn't installed.
So, there you have it. I have no idea why Kevo/Kwikset/Unikey didn't test with the newest phones, why they don't know it works or whatever. Their developers are much more interested in supporting iOS and the sheeple that use it, but it will work for us too!
where did you find the latest? i looked for almost 2 hours and the best i could come up with was the 0.99 beta in the google groups. had to sideload an app that lets you change your device to trick Play into letting you install it.
Googled Android kevo apk, found version 1.2.57.2p everywhere. I presumed that was the latest since it has the remote buttons on it.
yeah i saw those results as well, but none of the apk downloaders worked for me. several even said their 'device' was incompatible, which was the same problem i was having.
I'm in the same boat. I have an S7 Edge and while kevo still works with just the proximity and tap lock to open...I've never been able to get the tap to unlock/lock work. Even on my moto360 (gen1) kevo force closes non stop. Another problem I had was my old S5 was on Lollipop and it worked, but then Tmo rolled out the update to MM and now it doesn't even see the lock. I've had multiple emails to Kevo and the only thing I get is that "We're sorry, we have no plans to support MM".
If you got anything to help out with Kevo working on Marshmallow, then I'd appreciate it as well!
I might be a little late on the the subject but I had the Kevo app since the beginning from my Note 4 on KK all the way up to My Note 5 on MM. I rarely use my Moto 360 (1) to open the door but this time I did and the watch went haywire and kept showing a notification indicating that the app is no longer working. So I decided to uninstall the Kevo app and then proceeded to sync the watch and phone, stopping the annoying notification. When I went to the app store to reinstall I found the "phone not compatible"..
Well, decided to sideload to have the Kevo app to look and work the same way I had it before.. after several attempts I figured it out. 1st sideload the Kevo 0.9.58p apk, sign in, then sideload the updated version 1.2.57.2p and it will finally look and feel like the updated one on Lollipop. Sefar is right, why the devs were so lazy in checking for compatibility is beyond me but it works.!!

The Galaxy Note 10+ was my first android device in several years. I bought it to play with, intending to return it, and was immediately hooked and sold my iPhone instead. The feature that really sealed the deal for me was the screen mirroring in the MS "Your Phone" app. Yesterday I "upgraded" to the Galaxy Fold, only to discover that the screen mirroring I was so excited by only works on the Note 10+! I'm keeping the fold.. my old eyes just love the size of this device- but I'd really like to have that feature back. Anyone know of another answer that would allow me to use my desktop monitor / mouse / keyboard when I'm at the desk? You think they'll support the fold in future?
I hope they bring this feature to the Fold, I am baffled that it's lacking in the first place. I'd even settle for Dex if that were available.
Working here
The "Your phone app" is working fine here. Might try it again.

The app works, it just doesn't include the screen mirroring feature, that's what I'm lamenting. Or are you saying that's working with your Fold? Could you post a screenshot of that?
Sorry. just photo, messages and notifications here. not screen mirroring
You can do it with Samsung's own Sidesync app. I used to use it with my Note 8. It works flawlessly. Try it.

Install on both your Fold and your windows desktop.

Thank you! Sidesync didn't work well at all, but the installation on the windows side mentioned that it was being replaced by Samsung Flow, which I didn't know about at all. Flow works perfectly, so my issue is solved.
Thanks again.
