I have the US cellular tab s and i am stuck at "firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies and try again. Kies is a big POS and does not connect to my device... I have never in all my years had luck with kies... EVER... does anyone have a pit file for odin or a guidance on how to fix this?

Update:
Fixed
Used below method with the following information in the program
PDA: T807R4TYU1ANK1
CSC: T807R4USC1ANK1
MODEM: T807R4TYU1ANK1

Is your device SMT807? Snapdragon? I dont think there are any firmwares on sammobile yet for this device. Did you try to flash something or do an ota that could of caused this?

im the guy who bricked their tablet by doing exactly what you tried. The method you tried is for Exynos variants of the tablet. Here in america, everyone except tmobile i think has the SnapDragon chipset. If you can confirm that yours is the snapdragon variant, theres a way to fix it like i did to mine.

That's exactly what I did too. I do have exynos I believe per the phone arena data

You need to find out for sure whether it's exynos or snap dragon. Those websites usually only show specs for 1 of the variants, not all of them.

Its a 2.3 quad core processor

I absolutely hate us cellular. Its by far the worst service for everything. Support can't tell me anything.

I believe you have a snapdragon processor... Exynos is only 1.9 ghz vs snapdragon is 2.3 ghz.. So I guess you have to take it back?

Bda_rival knows a fix I guess so I'll wait on his response.

Note 2 on kitkat

Just read this
http://au.ibtimes.com/articles/5062...at-os-18-smartphones-tablets.htm#.UjkXJX_vmhr
It says note but not sure note 2 suppose so
Note phabletS so we could suppose that it is for the Note and Note 2.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
It also says the Ace will get kit kat, a three year old budget phone which is still on gingerbread. I don't think I'd trust that article!
Don't just read some articles and come here.

Read a few more articles there. That site is garbage.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk 4
Granted the site is garbage but KK is supposed to be light on memory usage which would allow low end phones to run it without issues, even on your 500mb RAM phones. So it's not that far fetched.
I do not trust samsung, I think 4.3 is our last update for our note 2

I have faith , why ?
S2 came with gingerbread right ? then ICS , and last at JB
why would S2 be better than note 2 ?
we still on 1st version or going from 4.1.1 to 4.1.2 is huge upgrade !!!!!
still more to come , just dont think about it , like many who just want update and dont use 30% of what note 2 can do
I guess the 4.3 will be the last update... Samsung doesn't play fair with updates
Well you can always go here to get the latest version of android lol anyway been such a long time since I last touched stock ROM that using it makes me feel like a fish out of water.

Many people requesting = showing Samsung the big demand and make it hard for them NOT to make an update
4.3 is likely to be our last official update. 4.4 hasn't even been released yet and our model just got superseded. Samsung has little vested interest in keeping the Note2 fan base up to date. Furthermore 4.4 has been documented as a major upgrade, so the cost will be significant for Samsung and the carriers to put dev time into it. It will be comparable to the GB to ICS upgrade which saw a lot of superseded handsets miss out.
Well, we should wait and see. The SGS2 has been receiving updates, hasn't it? Slowly, but sure. It's getting updates and fixes.

It might be late but we will definitely get the 4.4 update. Samsung might be slow but never leaves its flagship phones without updates so soon.

[Q] How happy are you with the N2?

Hello, I am using the LG G Pro and I like it but i am looking for another phone with more devs. Only other phone on the market thats 5.5 inches is this one and i see anything smaller as being too small lol. So in your honest opinions, how happy are you with your N2? How would you rate the development for this phone?
Sent from my LG-E988 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Development for note 2 on r mobile side seems to be slow and their are some dedicated devs who definitely keep this phone feeling fresh ... As a phone itself it's great to me I'm really not sure what more u could ask from it ...

We can use the ATT roms also, we just have to do what you stated. Flash the modem from T-Mobile. But, for the 4.3 roms, you'll get data drops, because T-Mobile hasn't released the 4.3 rom for the device yet.

Can't u just unlock it with apps like galaxysim unlock?
also there are many posts about unlocking your phone on the forums u can DIY at home with just a couple of softwares and apps, all u need is to type unlock note 2 in search and follow the procedure under u're respective model number's forum
as for site I ain't so sure as I just use galaxysim unlock and i'm rooted but I don't think it needs root to be installed.Just await confirmation on that part from one of the others members and see what they suggest
Thanks for the feedback @aradhaya10 i found a couple of ways to do it for free but they all seem to have little risks. I may just try what you did. Im just looking for feedback because I've never really used any other method other than paying someone for a code.

That's aite everyone is afraid to do stuff to their device for the first time just await confirmation from one of the other members for the best method otherwise galaxysim unlock is quite alright

There is a thread for unlocking galaxy s3 gsm, the same method applies for the galaxy note 2, you will and might have to roll back to earlier version of android, I think 4.1.1 but I forgot which baseband was successful, find that thread and you'll be golden. Should take you 10minutes top to roll back and unlock then update to which ever OS you want. No need to pay $40 or what ever.

Factory Original ROM IMEI null?

I have the international H815 version of the phone, and have kept it on base rom
But 7 out of 10 times, when I restart the phone, it gives me no service,
a null IMEI, as well as a constant 80% battery reading (when I do get it to work after a while, the battery reading isn't 80%)
Can anyone help me?

Need honest advice please.

I have a Samsung galaxy note 10.1 2014 edition and am curious about something. Is there a way to swap out the SoC, with proper tools, in order to improve performance and multitasking abilities? I love my tablet but it's starting to feel outdated and since Samsung hasn't announced a 2015 version, I figure my best bet would be to put in a Snapdragon 820 once it's released. Please add helpful comments and insight. I just need to know if, theoretically, this pursuit is possible before I start out on this venture.
Thank you all in advance.

SoCs are soldered into the motherboard, so it's not possible
Even if it were possible to physically change the SoC, you'd need to modify the kernel to support it, which pretty much only people who've worked at a smartphone manufacturer would know how to do
I understand that, with the right tools, it is possible. I am curious as to the level of difficulty required in doing so.

Sure it is possible, but likely incompatible pinouts, voltage differences, and driver differences make it a non trivial thing to do unless you want a dead tablet. I wouldn't bother.

Now that Apple announced a stylus tablet it's pretty much guaranteed that we will see a new note tablet from Samsung very soon.
At least that's what my magic ball called tech intuition is telling me
