Hi,
Can anyone please extract Kitkat boot.img from the factory image for Deb from Google?
I am stuck in bootloop after installing franco kernel r8. :crying::crying:
I have unlocked my bootloader, rooted and installed CWM recovery and currently on Stock Rom 4.4.
i tried wiping cache and dalvik but still stuck in bootloop. Before hitting factory reset i want to try reflashing stock kernel from Google factory image.

Thanks a ton !! It worked like magic. I will be forever grateful to you Sir.
here is the same boot.img i have repacked as a rar file.
Devs can use it as a backup option (and put it in the all-in-one-place thread) to people who bootlooped their device on flashing a bad/wrong kernel.
Devs. Please close this thread as it is solved.

I dont get it, why would you like CWM touch recovery.??? It doesnt support flashing KK.
Also I think your touch screen doesn't work properly. Then why would you go for CWM Touch recovery.
If your touch screen is perfect, you can install 4EXT app. This will help you to flash latest 4ext recovery, for flashing KK Roms.
And please try to read more than.post...

But if you need CWM by NeverGone\Ru, then download that recovery.img
Even using your phone, you can edit flashable zips.
Use ZArchiver from playstore.
Then edit those lines which are in the zip you attached by the name of the recovery.img you downloaded.
Replace the old recovery by NeverGone\Ru. And you are all done. Flash it through recovery as you would flash the old 5.x.x version.
Thanks...

Flash recovery in fastboot usb mode with command
flash recovery recovery.img
where recovery.img is name of your recovery file.
You have everything explained here

fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Maybe the 'fastboot' was implied by your mention of fastboot, but just wanted the command to be correct and clearly understood.

Just find your desired recovery (TWRP, Philz) in the Development forum section.

Hi folk,
Ok, it may seem a silly question, but I did search in previous posts, and and didn't find out an answer.
Now easly: can I root with the custom recovery loaded on the fly (fastboot boot TWRP.img), that's not flashing it into the recovery partition?
Does it keep the root on, and together the chance to OTA?
Or do I need to flash the custom Recovery in any case?
In this case, how can I make a "my_recovery.img" dump from my original?
I tried loading on-the-fly the TWRP, and selecting backup, but I got a lot of files ....
Thanks, sorry if these questions were already asked, but I didn't find any answer...
