So i just got the Note 4 and i'm having trouble playing music. I've transferred mp3's to my external and tried internal and multiple player apps. Some mp3's will play and some come up unsupported. They are all the same file format and i've never had a problem playing the same files with other galaxy s devices before. So is there anything i can do? any suggestions?

Hi together!
I have figured something out!
After 3 days of testing from formatting SD to wipe whole system and beginning from scratch.
And all because my Gallery Media Player began to stop playing my recorded Camera videos. The problem went bigger, when I recognized, that also the music player could not play the music on SD anymore.
I think I got the solution for the problem:
The problem was caused by some video files in flv. format which were on my SD. (10 files in .flv)
When I deleted the files everything was good again.
But what really weird is the fact, that Vplayer can play the flv files.
And only the fact of having them on SD causes the problems.
What do you think you about that?
Perhaps you can reproduce those problems.
I would really like to know if I am the only one.
Greetings
BTW I am on newest OTA Europe, before that there were not those problems
Hi all,
Just got a new Samsung TV (UA46ES7100), which is one of their smart TVs and supports AllShare. That allows me to stream videos, photos, music, etc from my Note 2 to the TV pretty easily, except for 1 small issue.
The only music it will stream is the music listed in the samsung Music Player app on the phone, which only looks at a single Music folder on the internal storage. No music I put on my microSD appears in the Music Player app, and therefore does not appear in AllShare. I've always used PowerAmp as my music playing app which lets you assign folders to scan so I've never noticed this, but I can't find any options in the samsung Music Player or AllShare that will let me change the music folder it looks at.
Anyone know how to get Music Player to look at the external MicroSD for music instead of its folder on the internal one?
I am having this very same issue.... Except I use spotify and it us really pissing me of that even know my phone is paired with my TV via Bluetooth... It does not recognize spotify
Real big bummer

I am using a Galaxy Note 2 on stock ROM, unrooted. I have a bunch of songs on my SD card inside the Music folder. This Music folder has two sub-folders to separate the FLAC and MP3 songs. The problem is I can browse to the folders and listen to songs one by one while navigating from the phone. The Music Player plays the songs alright. However, the Music player does not default to the Music folder on the SD Card. But if I copy the same Music folder on to the internal memory of the phone, the Music player recognizes the folders perfectly and plays all the songs. The same SD card is recognized across two other phones and my Tab2 without any issues, so I am not sure what is wrong. I want to play the songs of the SD card as I need the internal memory to install games. Please advise and thanks in advance.

No other option? Is there no way to get the default music player to recognize the music folder on the sd card?

It's a well known issue that the external SD card doesn't work with M at the moment...
You updated too early if you really need the card.
lately when I add song into my music folder on my sd card. The music player I dont see the songs in the recently added list tried some rescan apps didnt do anything even changed sd cards no change any ides would be wonderful. and no have not rooted phone nor do I plan too.
Hi All,
I have a media folder on my sd card that has a couple ringtones and a few notification sounds and the Asus music player is listing them as music to play. My Galaxy S4 did not, it ignored them. I placed a .nomedia file in the directory but now android ignores that directory and it's sub-directories completely.
Has anyone else run into this?
I actually use a different music player that let me select the music folder.
Now does it happen to you that when you are playing music and you turn the screen on or off there is a little skip of sound?
It has happened to me in the stock music player, poweramp and Pandora.
