Problem
I Brought A new Gpro on 21st Dec E988 India, it worked fine for a week , Then I rooted it using the Sticky thread By ballshanglow.
Next day I see my 2G n/w signals are gone totally , I switch to 3G/WCDMA and Bam it works both voice data , but switching back to 2G still doesnt work.
What i tried
Factory reset using Power + Vol Down button : Problem still persists
Flashed original KDZ E988 10e India with Flash Tool : Problem Still persists
Flashed stick rom via Lg support tool : Problem Still Perists , still only 3G no 2G
Then
I thought Maybe it's a BB issue , but doesnt flashing stock KDZ as i did before restore the original BB ?
Anyways
1) I rooted my phone using the same method as above
2) Installed Latest Freegee
3) Installed CWM from there
4) Flashed a certain E988 10a(India) BB and Rebooted from CWM
Bam a bootloop , Now what should I do , I am stuck with no 2G network at all?
Request/Advice/ Suggestion
There is an awesome Thread which keeps track of all Stock KDZ
there should be a similar thread that keeps track of all latest BB too , Currently I see individual Devs have BB for somemodels or just a few BB in their own cloud and all of them are scattered .I would request some Senior Member here to create one thread as sticky so as to help every newbie.
Many people on different models of Gpro are having problems with CWM installed with freegee , some have touch problems on TWRP , i had them too , it would be good if the sticky threads could recommend which one to use.
Sticky threads should also explain the what all models our phone has , Concept of Recovery , BB , Modem , firmware as only people who have flashed a rom earlier would be aware of these terms , for others it might be rocket science

1) after a lot of searching I found E988 10a BB (India) , Does anyone know a newer version ?
2) Since CWM from freegee gave me Bootloop , can someone tell me which Recovery should i use CWM,TWRP or Philz touch and if cwm or Twrp how to install them aside from freegee?

I have tried that My Friend but my Problem of no 2g signals coming still perisits.
It would be of great help if you could give me the latest BB to flash for E988 India.
My BB when phone came was - APQ8064/MDM9x15M
then after a week my 2G stopped after rooting
So I flashed E988 10a my BB was stll showing -APQ8064/MDM9x15M ais it nd problem didnt solve
So i flashed E988 HK BB my BB is still showing -APQ8064/MDM9x15M
is this okay ?
Can i flash E980 BB just to check whether that works or not ?

Nothing i did Helped solve the problem , tried everything which was possible , finally flashed stock rom and gave to service center , they replaced MotherBoard(Thier olution to everything) and voila its now working!
recently i bought a f180L having stock firmware 4.1.2 than i followed following tutorial symbianize .com/showthread.php?t=1103182
and converted it to e975 and installed ind fw and flashed f180L baseband and also unlocked edge all was ok till here. than i rooted it tried to install
cwmr using rom manager but when i booted the mobile and pressed vol down and power it didnt went to recovery than i pressed vol up and
pressed power here where it stuck with security boot loop so i again flashed the f180L orig fw and here when problem started as there was
NO SIGNAL. now i read many threads here in xda also tried many firmwares also installed ics 4.0.4 no signal but when i installed a 18mb update
for ics 4.0.4 using built in updater full signal came back but when i switched off the phone and turn it on again there,s no signal also installed
open europe 10h firmware the phone shows weak signals and some time no signal. i have tried many basebands using cwmr too but still no
signal. now i totally fedup and tired i think i made a mistake by not taking efs backup with original firmware. what should i do now ?

Extract folder "BaseBandF180L_OK" (there was no problem in WIN7 with this procedure) and then:
- connect the phone to USB in MTP MODE and copy "BASEBAND.IMG" to SDCARD ROOT
- check "DEVICE MANAGER-ADB INTERFACE-LG "something"" (it should be OK - only if hou have installed drivers in WinXPMode and you are connecting the phone in WIN7 then you have to install those 3 files from point 2 and 3 above)
- so if you see ADB Interface for LG, you copied the IMG file to SDCARD and your phones ROOT is OK then ...
- just run "FLASH_BASEBAND.BAT" and wait for restart
- now you should be asked for PIN (if you use it ) and you should get a signal (greditsfor all this i going To Happy_Alien)not me

U just have to flash ur efs after baseband even if u see ur imei

u mean i install stock f180L 10M ics firmware and backup efs and than restore it after installing e975 fw ? but problem is after restoring to 4.0.4
ics the signal r still not working so how come that ics stock fw efs backup restore signal in e975 ?

restore efs(i didnot do that but only flash baseband) and then flash the baseband.be sure that your phone is rooted ,mtp mode,usb debagging and uknown sourses enabled.try to flash jelly bean not ics.

ok so i fllashed f180L 20T (there was no signal) than rooted it installed freegee and took the efs backup than i flashed ind kdz (phone started to get weak signals which disappear after few seconds) than i installed freegee and restore efs and than flashed the f180L baseband and still no signal and also now imei status showing unknown no, i think i have messed up the original baseband which comes with the phone pre installed and didnt took the efs backup at that time, now i m totally clueless.
can anyone post the links of all korean jelly bean kdz that released so far so that i started flashing it one by one and maybe i get the matched baseband

i have tried these kdz from the link u posted above but still no signal, i have also tried ics 4.0.4 but signal came back once i applied the 18mb
update but when i restarted it the signal went off. now i m thinking of removing the battery maybe that will solve the problem ?

i have restored the orig backup files of modem that is made by that edge flashing software but still no signal
should i took out the battery ? will that gona help to solve the baseband prob ?
so after trying diff kdz and basebands and no luck with signal i took the phone to mobile expert and he told that efs partition is messed up and
he will fix it by using test point and jtag. whts test point and jtag ?

finally phone is fixed, i took it to pro he fixed it by sending some binary file to some one. now signals r up and i will not going to install any

My Optimus G Pro F240L was somehow soft bricked for a month after trying to install a version of CM11. I have tried to download many dfferent F240L .TOT files to get it back to life on Baidu, all files were corrupted, at least for me, and i had the low battery warning when trying to flash official .KDZ .
Then I have tried the tutorial on this thread with AT&T .TOT file for E980, thanks to madmack :

I have LG Optimus GPro F240L too, I tried to flash CM11 ROM but it was brick, the same like you. But I flash TOT file back OK. Now i can root and install CWM through FreeGee, but when flash CM base ROM it doesn't boot, only stock base ROM work. Someone tell my why please !
Well in fact I have tried AICP here, and it works pretty well and very fast.
Install it through Freegee and TWRP. However, I get signal, but whenever I try to make a call, the phone reboots. If I try to install the baseband, the phone gets bricked.
Otherwise a search on google for F240L CM11 gives many results, even on XDA. I didn't have time to try yet. But on E980 official ROM, Antutu has a score of 22500 which is far better than my 19600 with official F240.

I have a F240L works with CM11 perfectly.
Only issue i noticed whichever ROM i use i never get SimToolKit(STK) to work even in stock korean ROMs.
I moved to RadeonMAYA ROM as it has the best battery life as compared to the G2 V5 ROM and CM11.
As for the rebooting during phone calls just install ALSA drivers using the guide here on this general section and it will work.
Though you'll have reenable it evertime on Reboots which is a PITA.

Thanks, I will try alsa drivers. Yesterday I have tried a PACMAN rom downloaded here, and it works wonderful without doing anything. Calls, data network, wifi have no problem at all.
Slimkat 4.4.2 is also there. Not tried yet.

Low battery warning will be gone for sure. Though I'm not sure about the dll, maybe get one for e986.

I can't say thank you enough for this I did have a soft bricked E980 some how I got something to flash to it but it was then a F240s. Following this guide I now have my AT&T E980 back. :good:

I am new and have a question. I have followed all the steps to the tee for unbricking my F240L and turning into a E980, except using king root to root the phone. After rebooting everything has worked perfectly except I can only get 4G speed and cannot get 4G LTE on t-mobile which is available in my area? It is on 4.1.2 and I have also correctly loaded all the APN codes for t-mobile. Maybe it is not possible to get 4G LTE after converting the F240L into a E980? I am open to any suggestions.
Do you know where i can get F240 TOT file?
I'm trying this on my comming F240. And luckily make it a E980, thanks!

I guess you now have to flash official F240L .KDZ as it will work flawlessly and hope you get 4G LTE (I think it is the same as 4G, I may be wrong)
I do not know myself as it is difficult to download from Baidu websites, just use the E980 .TOT file with the guide and uou will be fine. After that you can flash any .KDZ
I have lg g3 d855 32GB Hong kong variant and when the phone was in running condition it had stock android 4.4.2.
i was trying to update my to phone to lolipop with lg pc suite but it doesnt help me out with the lolipop update. Then i decided to root my phone and update with the lolipop with the custom roms, and i succeded in it. After rooting i was flashing the stock files with .tot method, but every time i trying the process failed at 6% and showing error.
[ERROR] : Partition Change factory Partition (Phone!=tot)
now the phone stuck at firmware update mode and dosen't moving from that and it is not even going into the recovery mode .
pls help guys to deal with it .

Since i'm pretty new to Android modding, i want to ask for your help because i would install the best custom rom available for my device.
So, which is the best rom? Can i have a step by step tutorial for rooting my device and installing the rom?
I would like to maintain the stock camera quality, i've heard that custom roms may decrease the overall photos quality.

Hello, since this is General.. Question shouldn't post here but anyway, have you heard Fulmics? It is developed by xpirt and will transform your G3 to G5..
You can use that ROM because it is the most reliable ROM i'll ever use on my G3.. Don't worry about the camera quality since it is stock based ROM, you won't lose anything..
Please note that my G3 is korean variant ( F400L ) and not international ( D855 ).. So my choices is a bit limited here.. Don't worry tho because Fulmics support most variant of G3's..
Let's Start!
How to root? First you need to go back to Lollipop, How? If Sony, there is Flashtool but with LG, we can use LGUP and flash the stock kdz/tot there.. Please download the right kdz for your device btw..
And there is many ways to root such as Kingroot or OneClick..
Note that, if you're using Kingroot.. Don't mind about their bloatware because we're going to update to Marshmallow anyway..
After it is done, you need to install TWRP.. You're so lucky because there are many way to install TWRP and the most easiest way is using AutoRec

AutoRec can be downloaded from Playstore, you need to find the right one for example.. You got D855, so you need to download Autorec Lollipop for D855.. Don't install the one for F400 or else, goodbye to your G3 forever.. Yup, easiest way can be the most risky way to go..
While busy with rooting and installing recovery, download the ROM you want.. As example, download the latest Fulmics 6.9 ROM for G3 and transfer it to root directory of your SD Card..
After you have TWRP installed, boot to TWRP.. If you found it is hard to boot to recovery with those stupid combination key.. Just download an apps called ... Boot.... hmm.. whatever it is.. I'll forgot, just find an apps that can help you boot to recovery easily i guess..
If you succeed to boot to recovery, congratulation.. Now do wipe data cache and install the ROM ( Fulmics 6.9 as example ).. After that, reboot the device and enjoy!
Since my G3's is already dead a long time ago ( bluescreen and flicker ), that's all i can help by typing all of this using my G4.. Goodluck!

You can use that ROM because it is the most reliable ROM i'll ever use on my G3.. Don't worry about the camera quality since it is stock based ROM, you won't lose anything..

Are you sure there is no QFUSE which is blown when you downgrade? Because i've read and heard about it. It's dangerous to downgrade, someone got stuck on 5% and had the secure boot error which is an indication of QFUSE.

The downgrade is mandatory for rooting the device, right? Is there a root for Android 6.0 too? :/

I've done that a lot of time with my G3.. No QFUSE problem here and this is the first time i've heard that.. What is QFUSE?

I am not aware of any root method for V30 based roms but there could very well be.

QFUSE was supposed to be a downgrade protection which triggers when someone flashes in download mode a version of android lower than the current one. I have no idea why, if you access the hidden menu, and find DRM, you find QFUSE there. It was supposed to, like said before, be a fuse which is triggered by a downgrade.
