When I plug my Earbuds into my Note 4, Sound only comes out of one ear. I tried 2 different set of Earbuds & had the same Results. Then I tried Both sets of Earbuds in my Tab 4 & my Wife's Note 4 & Sound came out of Both Earbuds from Both the Tab 4 & the Note 4. This tells me that the Earbuds are fine & something is Wrong with my Note 4. Does Anyone have ANY IDEA where to Start with trying to fix this Problem??? I do not want to send the Note 4 back (Warranty) I would like to Fix the Problem if that is Possible. Any Ideas? Thanks Jason

I have 3 Note II's in my family (all N7100), and they all make this hissing sound when playing music through the back speaker. I have also noticed the hissing sound during the ripple effect on lock screen. So I just want to know, has anybody NOT experienced this on their Note 2 or is my family just unlucky? Thanks

So I take it the 'hissing' sound is common to all Galaxy Note II's?

Hello
I bought the Note 10.1 2014 upon release in Canada and it has worked fine until recently. The tablet does not properly recognize my earphones, when I insert the earphones it will tell me "headphones connected" and the symbol would appear top left and than quickly disappear. I either have to fiddle with the earphone by turning it or push it right in for it to work but it will stop working there after.
I have reset the tablet and I have tried 4 perfectly good headphones and the result is the same. I called Samsung and they told me to get Samsung earphones.
Anyone else experiencing this? Would Samsung earphones fix this or is the headphone jack broken?
Thank you
Why would samsung earphones make a difference?? Seems like a fault has occured witht the headset jack.

Hello, bring this thread back from the dead
I didnt indicate this in my original post but I got the headphone jack problem a couple of days after I updated firmware via odin, got it fixed by sending to samsung.
I updated to kitkat via Odin a couple of days ago and now my headphone jack messed up again, keeps on reconnecting upon slightly moving the headphones.
Is this a coincidence?
Are you sure it's not the headphones? Have you tried a different brand?

Look in the headphone jack for lint or other debris.
Thx for the suggestions, tried different headphones and same thing, I will clean it with an air duster when I get a chance to buy it.
Thx
Nothing wokred
2nd time in three months this has happened, getting really annoying.
On a side note, anyone know if I can revert the firmware back to the Canadian version 4.3 (currently have kitkat 4.4)? If so, where can I find the firmware.
thx

Hi I've been experiencing the same issue, just wondering if you've found a way to fix this?
Apparently there is an issue with the samsung earphone jack but have not heard of a response from Samsung on this. My jack does not accept any devices, so it is all FG^&^ed up too. What to do about this?
I just realized that my note 3 is having some odd problems with my bluetooth speaker that is less than a month old. When i pair note 3 to speaker the volume is extremely low where i can hardly hear coming out the speaker, but when i pair my note 3 to a different bluetooth speaker it works fine and if i pair a different phone/ipod/macbook to my speaker the volume is fine, i have a high feeling the speaker is perfectly fine due to being very new. And it only has problems with the note 3 , will any one help me out or has same issue via bluetooth with their note?

I can say I did have an issue initially with a new car radio I bought. My issue was in my radio though.
Since its just the note that your having issues with I would start there. Not sure what rom your running, volume mods, etc. But check all the settings. Maybe install a kernel that has volume adjustments along with it

no issue here
did you try the speaker with a friend phones
My at&t note 5 only plays music with samsung earbuds. Any other cable or set of headphones won't work. I did notice samsung earbuds have 3 lines in the tip. 1 of the lines is for microphone as far as i know. All the other cables i use only have 2 lines, but that should not be a problem. Is this a software issue? If it was hardware i would think not even samsung earbuds would work. I have not tried another pair of earbuds with microphone capabolities either, but i don't think that is the problem. Someone enlighten me, or tell me if you have had the same experience and solved the issue. Thanks in advance.
