Stuck (unable to boot) updating firmware - One (M8) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was (CID=TELST001). I wanted to flash VenomOne ROM. I rooted, unlocked bootloader and flashed Venon ROM. Then found that WiFi didn't work as I had not upgraded firmeware to the right base.
So I had to go back to stock to upgrade firmware and then reflash Venom ROM. I restored a stock nandroid (1.12 firmware). I then found n OTA which included 1.54 upgrade, another a 2.23 upgrade to fw and yet another to 3.23 firmware, all with matching CID. All went well until last firmware flash.
I flash fw.zip by extracting it from the OTA.zip and flashing it according to instructions here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2696282
But since flashing 3.23 fw.zip and when it rebooted it gets stuck on the white HTC/powered by Android screen and doesn't proceed. I don't think it's just a slow boot - it has sat there for over half hour. Powering down doesn't work (either power button nor power + vol down) - it just comes back to same screen.
I had to reset by power+VolUp and then Switch to power+voldown - got back to hboot/fastboot. Below are the getvar all:

Above shows I am on the right firmware and HBOOT to now flash Venom. But I can't boot up into stock. is there something wrong with the boot.img? Should I proceed to unlock and flash Venom ROM even though I can't successfully boot into stock before doing so?

Yep just flash the new rom.

HTC ONE M8 Soft-bricked after GPE flashing- stuck in bootloader. Help!

Hello everyone,
Before I start here are some basic info
The phone is rooted and S-off.
CID: HTC__J15, later I have converted it to
Today I have tried to convert my HTC M8-Dual Sim to a Google Play edition through this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2708589
However, after finishing the flashing process my phone was stuck in the bootloader screen, there recovery disappeared but I can flash it again.
I tried both the rooted and the un-rooted zips and they both gave me the same result.
After that I tried flashing back to the Sense firmware and stock rom, after finishing flashing it still was stuck in the bootloader.
If i tried to make a factory reset in TWRP it gives me (E: Resource type (font) failed to load)
Can you please help me, I need to fix it asap as I have a trip by next week.
Thank in advance

Surprise Boot Loop - Can't fix via RUU :(

Hi,
My european One M8 suddenly rebooted a few days ago while sitting idly on my desk next to me, for no apparent reason. It went straight into a boot loop where it vibrates, turns screen on then shows the green HTC logo. Screen would then go blank, then back to HTC logo again, over and over. I ran the battery down, restarted on AC and the problem was fixed, only to happen again an hour later. Now I can't boot into the OS, but can get to bootloader and stock recovery menus using button combos. The phone is the unlocked version, and is S-OFF using sunshine about a year ago while I played around with custom roms. Since then I've gone back to stock firmware/OS using RUU, and updated OTA to the latest android a few weeks ago. Phone worked fine since then.
I've tried using the following RUU + a factory reset, but the problem persists:
0P6BIMG_M8_UL_M60_SENSE70_MR_HTC_Europe_6.12.401.4_Radio_1.29.214500021.12G_20.72.4196t.01_release_464360_signed.zip
I've been desperately looking around for pointers and re-locked my bootloader, then tried RUU again. Still didn't cure the problem, and may well have been a bad idea I guess, as now I can't seem to unlock it again.
Here's the output from "fastboot getvar all":

M8 T-MOB101 RUU needed

Hi,
Gods and gurus of flashing I need your help on getting my M8 on T-MOB101 back to life. I've been trying update it to marshmallow and (long story short) I'm currently looking at empty flash wit only access to fastboot and ability to install/use TWRP.
Can someone supply me with a source of an RUU that will bring me back to stock? Sadly I'm S-ON with no access to the system obv.
Is there any other way to get it back to life?
Please help

Best help is self help I guess - I used this thread with great success: http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/help/tutorial-how-to-stock-stock-twrp-t3086860
Thanks
So I recently went back to stock so that I could update to MM via t-mobile OTA (I am S-ON as well). So what I did was to first find a stock version of the ROM and recovery I was running when I loaded TWRP onto it, this is key.
Because custom roms don't update firmware you need to go back to a un-rooted stock ROM. Once you find it, you also need to match the recovery to the firmware to the ROM. All 3 must match or it won't work.
So I installed the ROM and rebooted to fastboot (note: do not install su), and then I installed the stock recovery via fastboot. Booted up and did a basic setup of the phone (updating software etc), and then once it was done I did the OTA and prayed. Because of my lack on knowledge it took me a couple a tries, mainly because the recovery I first installed was 1 version newer than what the ROM or firmware was.
Once done, I had to dev-unlock again. I now keep a copy for myself of the original recovery and initial stock backup.
Hope this helps

Boot loop on a totally stock M8

Hi there.
I had some problems with M8 after Marshmallow update.
Sometimes it freezes on locked screen(phone working) - I have to restart it.
Phone stucks in a HTC logo, so I restarted it again and again.
And some time it starts a system.
Yesterday I had a problem to open any app - app open and closes immediately.
Some apps I had opened earlier works ok.
So I restarted my phone and it stucks on a boot loop.
Rom, recovery are totally official European software.
I haven't root.
I can access to HBOOT, FASTBOOT and RECOVERY.
Fast boot factory reset doesn't work.
Recovery wipe cache/data doesn't work
There is fastboot all vars:

What can I do more?
May I try install RUU from official HTC site?

I doubt you'll find it on the official HTC site.
But you can find it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=64926626&postcount=6
RUU is probably your best bet, on a fully stock device.

BootLoop No recovery post Marshmallow rooted, app crash os missing.

I have been stock fully upto date (6.0.1) untill.......
I did this yesterday: http://forum.xda-developers.com/des...-desire-820-recovery-twrp-recovery-3-t3373480
I installed SU and busy box and rootchecker said rooted (though I never checked S-Off).
Today I uninstalled some normal apps from the google old back up
Phone crashed and was stuck in a bootloop with recovery back to loop and missing OS in fastboot
I played a lot and got various versions and firmware. Have been updating and trying to get different twrp recoveries going but nothing booting to os or recovery. I have varios 0PFJIMG builds, one is 0PFJIMG_A51_UL_M60 which keeps failing.
How can I tell The current Firmware version and android system versions?
If my system is marshmallow but I have now installed firmware 2.10.401.4, is the right firmware 3.17.401.3 and does anybody have that?

1.Install TWRP 2.Install TWRP backup 6.0.1 https://yadi.sk/d/sCzAyKFHrr7JC For HTC Desire 820n 1-sim Euro or custom of Tamal https://yadi.sk/d/sCzAyKFHrr7JC P.S. in TWRP recovery Wipe-advanced Wipe - note 5 crosses Swipe to Wipe, then in TWRP recovery Restore Storage, Internal Storage,MicroSDcard TWRP backup,Swipe to Restore. Bootloop: Tighten the two volume buttons and the power button when a black screen appears to hold the volume- button and power, smart mustget into in the loader in the boot loader to choose reboot (assuming that the system is not removed)
When I go in to recovery I go back to bootloop. I think my system is MM and my firmware is LP but I dont know.
If you can help me with the right recovery im sure I can figure it out from there. I have tried TWRP_Recovery_D820_3.0.2-0 and a few older versions. Maybe if I can get my firmware back to MM then it could work again? Or take the phone back to LP firmware and system and flash an older twrp recover?
