Well I have gotten everything compiled and mostly working for multi-rom. The newest plasma kernel is compatible for aosp roms but I dont have a tw kernel compiled yet. Also wifi does not work on any rom but primary. The wifi issue also exists on the builds for n7100/n7105 so it is most likely an issue with the device files.
Hopefully over the next few days I can get wifi issue fixed and get a kernel compiled for tw roms. Plan is to use shift kernel so both tw and aosp will run with one kernel.

I've just flashed to UCLH9 from LG8 however KToonsez's kernel doesn't support UCLH9 (My Wifi didn't work at least). Currently I'm running the stock kernel and modem, but are there any choices for kernels now that I'm on UCLH9? Or should I wait for KToon to release a version that will support it?
U will have to wait just like me lol....altho i did find his 9-12 to work on i8 but the screen flashed like mad had to disabke overlays. So i flashed back to stock

ktoonsez's TW kernel works fine with LH9. Just make sure you flash the kernel after you flash the OTA or ROM. I'm using it now with wifi with no problems.
In case you're interested, the kernel has two pieces: the kernel image which lives in its own partition and the kernel modules. These live in /system/lib/modules. When you flash a ROM it will typically wipe /system. Some ROMs include kernel modules and some don't, but things like wifi won't work unless you have the kernel modules that go with the kernel image.
So, if you're running a custom kernel, you should always reflash it after flashing a ROM to make sure you have the right kernel modules. Especially if wifi doesn't work.

Wow! That's extremely informative, I had no idea that's how the kernel actually fit together. I'm going to reflash KToon's kernel in that case and see how it works. Thanks for the info and advice!
So I have the newest miui rom that is in the android development section. I am wondering if there are any kernels that I can change to that are better than the one it comes with. Am I even able to switch kernels?

Get the AOSP version of it JB also
Isn't there a kernel by faux or something? Or is there only one kernel I can have?
Yes, Fuax has a JB CM10 kernel. It's what I use since KT747 doesn't ever work for me.

I'm on Verizon so I upgraded to the KVT49L. But now when I install any kernels my CM11 just hangs on the boot screen
There are two different kinds of kernels, AOSP and CAF. You're probably trying to flash a kernel that doesn't work on CM. So you need one that says it's compatible with CAF.

Try any of sleshepic roms with either the devil kernel, or Plasma kernel.. I personally us Classic 3.0 TW with devils kernel and so far running real smooth.. It is one of the most stable TW roms for this phone..
Stock-wise @sleshepic is my go-to guy (disclosure: I am a bit biased though because of our past work to get said kernels to build properly.)
Alternatively..
If you have access to Linux you could try taking the repo from my Github and start making your own tweaked kernel.
Just look for the Community kernel thread as that's where we usually keep links and instructions up on building.
@garwynn I will look into that I'm still new to this I tried to develop a kernel for the HTC one sv but that was more advanced for what I was ready for it was a ported gsm to cdma rom kernel

I'm currently running Insane Hybrid which is a tw based 4.4.4 rom & the hispasia kernel is causing my phone to run really hot. It's never done that before so I'm wondering is there another compatible kernel I can run with my current setup?
