[Q] how to upgrade to kitkat without sdcard or online update - Huawei Ascend P6, Mate

Hi
My friend's P6 sdcard slut is broken and therefore his phone doesnt support sdcard at mean time
He tried to get online upgrade via his phone but there were no updates for him
I want to know is there any way to use flash memory storage via OTG cable instead of Sdcard?
I tried to put dload folder in flash memory and go to bootloader but it didnt check external storage and only checked sdcard, also I tried TWRP bootloader but it also didnt recognize flash memory as storage to load zip file!!

It should be able to update from internal storage or OTG from the system. Just put the dload folder on root directory on either internal storage or usb drive and go in to system update and choose local update.

Also I tried connecting the phone to pc and checking with Hi Suite but Hi Suit didnt detect any new software version

Then try updating it through hisuite because there us an option to manually select the updatr in hisuite. If you dont have it try to update the program.

[Q] Use clockwork with no .zip on sdcard

I am trying to update my gnex to jellybean and in the process of doing so i forgot to put the .zip files on the sdcard. I have a functional cwm in recovery mode but have no files to install. Is my device done since i have no sd card slot or is there a way to transfer the files to the phones internal storage. My pc wont see the phone as an adb but will as a fastboot device. Any suggestions? Please help!

You need to make sure your drivers are set up properly for ADB. Do this by being booted in CWM, and install them on the "Android 1.0" that pops up in Deveice Manager. (Use 1wayjonny's universal driver in the dev section.) Once that is done, move the zip over to you sdcard by typing: adb push <name-of-file>.zip /sdcard
If you have adb setup.
Go into mounts and storage and Mount /data
Then
Code:
adb push nameofrom.zip /data/media
Then unmount /data and you should now see the rom you forgot to put on the phone.

In Cwm try going to mounts and storage > mount usb storage and connect to your pc then transfer the file over.
Maybe that'll work?

If you are on a WiFi you could download the files on your phone also you may send it by Bluetooth if your PC has it...
But adb should work too, if correctly set up

[Q] Retrieving files from "damaged" SD card after flashing CM10

I fllashed CM10 M2 on my S3 and got the error that the external SD card is damaged. After reading some threads here I found that CM doesn't handle the exFAT format so I restored stock image from backup expecting to be able to access files on the external card. However, I'm still getting the bad SD card error. I found this thread that mentions the same issue that I'm having but the solution proposed there didn't work for me. I'm using CWM 6.0.1.2 and when I connect through ADB when in recovery, I don't see the contents of the external card. Mounting sdcard from CWM mounts /sdcard but that is the internal storage which is not what I want. I also tried connecting the card to my laptop running XP using a micro-SD card reader and running chkdsk but that reported the disk as a RAW partition. Any ideas on what else I can do to copy files off of the card?
Plug it into the computer and run a recovery software. There's tons of free ones.
Exfat should be readable by cm10. I would try in a Linux os to retrieve your data. Or the recovery method as mentioned above.

You'll have to copy to the computer. Use an adaper to plug into a usb port. Or if you can see the files on your phone copy to computer via usb cable or wireless file utility.
If I'm not mistaken, exFat is only supported in our stock kernels which is why you can't read it in cm or aokp. I've also had problems seeing it in cwm and twrp recoveries, but I can't remember if I had a stock kernel at the time.

I was able to recover the files using the Photorec recovery tool from CGSecurity. Worked like a charm, restored all my pics and music And it's free as well!

How are you seeing the files from CWM? Do you connect through ADB to browse the files?

Try sgs3 easy ums app. I think its on the market but you can search for it here in xda as well.
Or as I said before you can try a wireless transfer utility from the market.
Otherwise take the sdcard out if the phone and plug it directly into your computer via an adapter.

Yes , just in CWM go to Mounts and Storage then mount/sdcard or mount/external_sc.
I'm not sure if external card will work. Now connect phone to pc and you should be able to transfer files from PC to phone.

this happened to me last week actually. When I went to settings/storage it only showed up the app storage and not the internal storage.
What I did was a bit extreme and scary, since I only just started flashing roms 2 weeks ago. I did a factory reset and wiped EVERYTHING in recovery including the sdcard and system, then I used an all-in-one toolkit to push the boot image and the rom through adb sideload. I used the following excellent post and flashed twrp recovery, as clockworkmod doesn't support adb sideload, apparently, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2069904
Maybe as a last resort you could do it, it worked for me. but I would wait a day or two to see if someone with a bit more knowledge can suggest anything.
Thank you for you help i can see sd storage the seetings>apps but it only says 468mb is there anything else i do or will have have to wipe and start again??

That 468MB is your app storage partition... (apk)
Mount your usb storage from a custom recovery and backup the whole SD on your pc, then boot into the rom and mount the SD on your PC then restore all the files.
Or simply, move all SD content into the "0" folder or whatever its called in your rom.

How did you sideload the boot.img?
AFAIK you're only able to sideload a .zip-file.

Didn't word that correctly, the toolkit flashed the boot image in fastboot and then pushed the rom through sideload. I don't use toolkits now though, find it much easier using fastboot and adb commands
