How do I keep bluetooth on all the time? I have an android wear watch and when I go out of range of bluetooth then come back in range the phone has usually turned bluetooth off. Is there any way to keep it from doing that?
Thanks

That is not how your's works? Maybe it's an app that is turning it off.
Thanks will look at all my apps.

Hey guys,
Here's the scenario: I'm driving along. My Desire is in the car holder performing GPS duties. The Keepscreen app is keeping the display alive. All is good in the world. Then, I get a call. I answer it on my bluetooth headset. It's my agent telling me the UK and US leaders would like my opinion. Same as always.
Now here's the problem. When I hang up, I'm taken back to my lock screen, not the maps that I want to go back to.
Is there any way to automatically get back to the maps (without having to go through the faff of turning off the security lock screen every time I want to use the GPS then turning it back on when I finished)?
dont use keepscreen smu.
google leaves the screen on anyway.
i bet your app is bringing you back to the lockscreen after call since i never had such experience...
i dont have this problem.

Does it? I got KeepScreen because my Google Maps didn't stay on. I can't test it right now because my phone is in for repairs, but this is interesting. I was pretty sure Google Maps didn't have this feature.

No. Google maps does not keep the screen on. Google navigation does though.

It comes free with google maps.
Don't know what countries it supports though.
GB is supported by the Nav app afaik, otherwise search for maps.brut14.apk in here!

There's an option in the settings to keep the screen on when plugged into a power source.
use tasker app so that when in car dock and the call is ended google maps opens.

How do I do this? Because though it is a car dock, the phone has no way of knowing as it's simply in a holder with a charging cable that goes into the cigarette lighter charging port.

True. But this is a bit of a bodge and more for developers. One of the things is that I don't want to spend my time going in to settings and changing settings everytime I want to use it as a gps, and then have to change it back when I come out of my car. I wouldn't want this feature on constantly as it would excessively wear out the screen since I'm charging the phone outside the car much more than inside the car.
You could use Settings Profile app to change the settings based on the conditions in the car.
I use this to detect that I'm not at home, not at work, and plugged into a USB charger, so must be in the car.
I can then set the screen always on, start the Car Dock app etc...
Works well for me.

Good idea.
Though one thing has just come up. People are getting Froyo now, which has a car mode built in. Anyone have any experience with it? I'm still hoping to get my phone back by tuesday so can't check it out.
Using bluetooth during Airplane mode...on cyanogen
I heard that this was possible on the cyanogen rom, but it seems not be working. any thoughts on this?
can anyone shed some light on this issue?
I don't believe it is possible. When you put on airplane mode it is supposed to turn off all of the radio frequencies, bluetooth included.
That being said, I don't have Cyanogen so I can't base my answer 100%. It's just what would make sense to me.
I asked this question months ago: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=738527
but to no avail.
Now I am calling you developers out! jk
Is this something that is possible?
FYI I am running 10.22 Muiu ROM at the moment.
Thanks
Julian
The point of airplane mode is to disable any radio activity from the device because the FCC is paranoid about interference to the plane's systems from personal devices.
If you're willing to enable bluetooth you might as well go ahead and turn the phone back on. It doesn't make any sense to only enable bluetooth, its the same rule being broken on the plane.

I understand this point, but my Palm Pre would be able to still connect even if in Airplane mode. I believe cell phone interference was paramount to BT interference.
I am just trying to see if there was a hack that would enable it.
I run a lot with my BT headphones listening to music. I would like to completely turn off my cell radio so I do not get disturbed by SMS or calls or anything.
Thanks.

Hi, i have following question: anytime i connect device over Bluetooth and start to play music, it never power off screen or locks. I would like device to do it, as it consumes battery if i forget to manually switch display off. is there some way to make this happen automatically. I have tested various ICS ROMs but this is same at each one. any hints appreciated.
thanks

i tested on Nokia BH-214 and it works ok and screen goes to lock and blank, but tested on BMW 92870 internal car kit, it remains light . so it is probably car kit and ICS compatimility issue.

It's possible, though not something I particularly heard of unless it was designed that way (i.e.: as phones in a car are sometimes plugged into the charger).
What ICS rom is it? I know some applications as well have permission to keep the screen awake, though not sure if that would be it either since you said you tried it with another BT device (assuming same app).

I tried Andromadus, CM beta 12,13 and now i use EliteMod, looks like car kit forces light to remain and it is also when running without charger only on battery.
Hello people,
I have a new Huawei Ascend P6 and have some problems with WiFi. WiFi works fine but if the phone is standby for a few hours or when i come back home, WiFi not seems to connect. WiFi is on, but will only connect when i turn WiFi off and on.
I have tried this app: Advanced Wifi Lock (Free) but not seems to work.
Is there someone can help me out with this one?

Same thing here- wifi disconnects after while, when phone is standby...No matter of power profile or wifi settings- sooner or later it turns wifi off. Can't use therefore "Profile Flow" wifi based features ( turn BT off, when at home wifi). I keeps turning BT on/off in some period of time, I can see it in Profile Flow history...As soon as I take the phone and unlock the screen, the BT is on again, then wifi connects and BT goes off...
It happens to my phone too.. I guess you can't fix it unless there is some app that can fix this but my guess is that its saving battery life on our android phones..

The power manager should be on "normal" mode. "Smart" mode would instead turn off iinternet on screen off. Also in wifi settings, make sure it set proper.

same wifi problem here using the ascend mate

stupid wifi problem
Isn't this an Android problem, instead of Huawei's?
WiFi disconnection during deep sleep is an Android problem, since God knows when.
That's why there are apps (such as REGPON wifi KeepAlive) out there to ping websites to "warm" the connection, at the expense of battery.
I programmed a macro using E-Robot to do this. My connection never drops. Mine is B111.
