Can't reach google at the moment - Moto 360

Dear Friends.
Some functions on my Moto 360 watch work but others just give me a "can't reach Google at the moment" message.
This happens with voice commands or answering whattsapp or telegram messages...
I have read this is because of the MTK processors (I have a Iocean X7S Octacore) and also because of the BT certification. Not all BT hardware is certified for all smartphones.
Help me please!

I'm having same problems trying to answer telegram and messenger (Facebook), paired with my Nexus 5.
It's getting annoying because i want to be able to answer my messages through my moto 360!

This happens to me too with my Note 4.

I am also experiencing this issue with my Moto 360 paired to my Nexus 6. I often get "offline" or cannot reach Google, although I am connected to my phone. Would love to figure out a solution to this, it happens just about 50% of the time I say "Ok Google"

Ok guys, i solved this by downloading the offline language package of my native language in google now (my phone and moto 360 are in portuguese, so i downloaded the portuguese offline language package in google now).
Try this and see if it solves your problem too!

Sadly, it didn't work for me, it drives me nuts!

Try to set the language on your phone and moto 360 to english and see if it works. If it works, it is a problem with language interface on the Android Wear

I had the same problem. However, the probably just resolved itself yesterday in its own. It looks like fault lies on Google end.

I have this issue all the time. To be honest, speaking to the watch is the main input and it works well only about 30 percent of the time. Another 40 percent it stalls for a good 20+ seconds and then works. The rest of the time I get the can't reach Google message. After so many software updates, it's really sad that this is still happening. The reality is that in most cases, I'm better off just taking my phone out to do anything. The watch is only to view notifications.

Same thing happens to me and I have it paired to the 2nd gen Moto X. You'd think these two devices would work well together since they are by the same company. Funny thing is, when I first got it this wouldn't happen much, but now it seems to be happening all the time. I'm not sure if it's because of the recent firmware upgrade or not, but that could be it. It's pretty frustrating trying to reply to a text or show a friend the cool feature of the watch and have it keep saying "can't reach Google at the moment".

[Q] No Google Now, any point in getting this watch?

Hi All
I like in a Country that doesn't have Google Now, Location services etc enabled. Is there any point in me getting this watch? Will it work without Google Now? Obviously, it won't provide contextually aware notifications, but everything else should function fine right?
Thanks, Bob

I live in a country that Google Now is enabled but I don't use it.
So I don't have the customized notifications and results when I use "OK Google" on my device.
But the great power of the device is the notifications from apps. This is the best part and the main reason to get it. I haven't regretted using the device the past weeks.

Good to know.
Thanks for the quick response.
Looks like I'm getting a cool Christmas present!!
I've had my SSW3 for a few days now, I've slept with it, been running with it, and Google Fit collects the data on the watch. However, Google Fit does not upload to the website or the phone, I think this is because Google Location Reporting isn't available (we all have Google Now it seems!!).
Any tips on getting my steps from my watch, to my phone, to the internet?
Im also dont have google now in my country, but i enable It whith a Italiano or England SIM card and It works nice will my SONY SW3 . You can find some tutorials how to enable google now on non suported country on web

Google Now isn't the issue, it's the location reporting. This can't be faked it seems.
I think you have to set searchlanguage to English US.
I have set searchlanguage to "English US" and got voicesetting or speechsetting set to "Dutch". Now it seems to work best. Like "Navigate to.......(Dutch adress)" works now.

Won't stay connected

Just got this watch. I had the Moto 360 before, it worked fine.
This doesn't want to stay connected. I have to reset the watch, uninstall Android Wear and re-install it, then it'll connect once. After that, it disconnects and won't connect again. So notifications, syncing, weather, etc don't work.
Looking at my phone in Android Wear it just says Connecting.... on the watch, it says disconnected. Going into Bluetooth settings doesn't do a damn thing either.
Try Bluetooth Auto Connect from Playstore, it´s working for me on a Note3 with Omega Rom
Thanks for the reply. I managed to sort it out... I missed the step to click "trust device" during the initial set up. I didn't realize that was a necessary step for the watch to stay connected. You'd think it'd just do it automatically.
I don´t know, if it´s automatic, but i have the function with klicking on "trust device", no change, only the "Blutetoot Auto Connect" app is working.
This piece of crap is doing it again. Once its been disconnected, it won't connect again without complelety startinh over and resetting everything.
I'll check out that app.
You know, people can bash apple all they want, but at least their **** actually works properly.
Hasn't happened in a while, but if mine won't connect I just go to the android wear app and disconnect the Zenwatch then connect again. Works every time...
Tried that, many times.. never works. That app doesn't work either.
Well this is a serious problem I've had the watch for about six weeks now it took awhile to get initial set up to begin with I was at the point to return it on the first day , then I don't know how but it just paired and started working fine , I was very happy until today turned the watch on it wasn't paired and I've literally been trying for hours to get this chit to connect with no luck I've reset it ,tried the app mentioned above no luck at this point I give up I bough it at best buy but I'm past the return period I'm going to try and find some customer service rep ,at this point I give up trying to get the watch to work,if anyone knows of a customer service phone number I would greatly appreciate it , or if anyone here has any helpful information , ,I'm pretty tech wavy. But I surrender at this point what a shame I really liked the watch but the aggravation factor is to much ,sorry for the.long rant but there's no where else to vent or look for help maybe together as a group we can find some answers again any help would be greatly appreciated......

Thank's for replying but yes I've tried everything under the sun , just got home from work , going to see if I can't find a customer service number , if I can't get it resolved by the weekend I might as well throw 200$ in the Trash because That's where it's Going ....................:crying:
Go to settings / apps on your phone. Find google play services under running apps. See if device connection service is running. If not try rebooting your phone then the watch in that order and try to pair. You could also check if there is an update for play services and update if there is.

Same issue here, boxing up my ZenWatch and bringing it back to Best Buy today. Still within the 15 days. I really like the watch but these random disconnects are a killer. Most of the time it auto-reconnects but every now and then I have to reboot everything--which is kinda ridiculous if I'm out running.
At least I'll have a different watch with everything else the same for comparison sake and report back.
Have you tried uninstalling zenwatch manager? Mine started disconnecting after the last update, and uninstalling seems to have fixed my issue

I had the same problem I think the update from google services broke it.
unpair the watch from your phone then factory reset the watch and this is IMPORTANT pair your watch using "android wear" NOT the Bluetooth from the system phone
after I paired my watch using Android Wear now the watch stay connected and reconnect normally

After half a day working this seems to be the solution, thanks. :good:
Bad luck: two days later same problem persists (frequently disconnecting)
I am getting pretty tired of my Zenwatch not staying connected either. $200 is a lot of money for a watch that doesn't work right. It's had three or four updates since I bought it and it still sucks, should have sent it back the first week.
The Google nag to enable Google Now in the Android Wear screen is also a sore spot with me, if I wanted it enabled it would be enabled.
This whole "wearables" thing seems to be a poorly executed fad more than anything else, one that I'll be avoiding from here on out.
why would you have a watch that relies so heavily on google now and not enable it? connection has been just fine for me no several phones and software versions since I got it in January

Same here. I mean, it has disconnected maybe 3 times since I got it in November, but it hasn't been a big issue. Toggling BT on the phone reconnected it. I also agree with you about Google Now. It's central to how Wear works. Using a Wear device without Now would be like buying a car and trying to drive it without starting the engine.

You don't need Google now to benefit from owning this watch.
1. I like the ability to change watch faces and create my own with Watchmaker.
2. I can answer or dismiss a call from the watch.
3. Text and email notifications.
That's all I care about, anything else is an unnecessary distraction.

Wear translate, the app that no one actually cares about

So I attempted to use the new translate feature in the android update. To make sure I was using the right app I attempted to search some guides or users demonstrating it... and could come up with none. There are 10 million sites who read off the release notes for the update, but not a single one actually used it. Ok I lied, there is a japanese guy on youtube who did.
Soooo..I ran the app and attempted to use it on some youtube videos, it either worked pretty good like on spanish and dutch (I hope to use this for the rare but occasional Spanish speaking customers I run into) but failed catastrophicly on asian languages. Most of the time it sat there listening and translating nothing as if IT didn't understand what they were saying.
Also more proof no one actually used it, the watches time out is still in effect. So I have mine set to 10 seconds, so if I translate more than 10 seconds the watch shuts off and I lose it all.

Active 2 watch youtube and google translate

Arent the offical youtube and google translate app support to be on the active 2 watch?
I do not seem them on here.
I also wonder about these things.... In my watch missing too
Just got mine today and same issue
i agree, they are missing from the watch, i know that tecace has a few versions of twitter and also youtube, but they are not the ones we are after, they seem to be the ones you find when you go looking. So i took to twitter and got in touch with support. they kept telling me that i needed to show evidence of these apps and should only trust official sources. Later i sent then more evidence, youtube videos of the stuff in action, straight up cold evidence....... They then said that these apps may be from another region and i needed to check the software version for updates. ( i had already done this) i entertained the idea, and still nothing...
what now? Well, they may just be unreleased until a future version, but it really does make me wonder, why show these on the reviewer versions and then pull them from live. I did also notice that the reviewer didnt have the LTE model, they had the bluetooth just like i did. The reviewer was CNET, if you are wondering which vid i am reffering to. I have also been on reddit and the people there are pointing to the tec ace versions which are on galaxy store.
For now, we just cant get them, but i have noticed there is a way to install "unknown apps" which is kind of the APK file. We just need to find the files, and we are then set!
I have the LTE version so it's not just with the Bluetooth version.
TBH one of the reason why I choose this one was due to the google translate option, I live in a foreign country so this was an extremely useful feature for me.
Good points:
Screen is very bright & clear
First battery cycle lasted about 56 hrs with wifi on and AOD off (not using lte feature) also several re-pairs etc.
Second battery cycle (still in progress) wifi on, AOD on (no lte). so far it's been about 15hrs and the watch is still at 56%
Much much faster than my old ****ty Zenwatch 3 that decided to stop turning on.
Bad Points:
Rotating bezel not on by default (let's deactivate our main selling feature out of the box). In the first few days I have noticed the bezel gets triggered a lot when you have your arms crossed as watch starts vibrating from the haptic feedback.
No Google translate app
No Youtube app (yes, I would actually use this )
No twitter app, not really concerned about this one.
No Samsung Pay option in the wearable app (using OP6T) it's available in my country just not there at all.
Step counter is pretty off, within 5 minutes of putting the watch on I had apparently done 600 steps??? still waiting for the firmware update to arrive to fix this and gps.
Battery charge is a tad slow, about 2.5-3 hrs for a full charge and the watch band for the Stainless Steel LTE version is kinda meh, not terrible but not great either.
Also received mine (44mm Active 2 Bluetooth) in Australia and its missing Google translate and YouTube also.
Thought it was just me that couldn't find the YouTube app. How odd.

i know from looking at the videos that are posted up on youtube, the app is not the one by tecace. I think its just not been released yet from Samsung. maybe the test version that was sent to reviewers was different
the tecace version runs out of uses each day, you get a nag to try again at 9am..... i cant imagine samsung sending out an app that does that.
Anyone find the youtube/twitter apps yet? Extremely irritated by this... when they made such a big deal about it and it doesn't even have it... poor form.

Such a disappointment, these apps go flaky due to too many API hits, then it closes off. Seems wrong of Samsung to advertise such a thing as a selling point then it doesn't actually do it
Yep saw that earlier. Definitely feel misled.
And now the youtube app is MIA altogether...

Did anyone manage to get the watch translator work?
When trying to open the link on my S10 it says "not available on your phone"
I've got the translate app. I downloaded it through the watches app store. I didn't look for the Youtube app or the Twitter app.

Android auto issues?

Anyone else having problems with AA? When I unplug from either of my head units, the phone AA app fires up and music keeps playing on the phone. Sometimes it's just the music that keeps playing in the background, so I have to start the app on the phone to stop it.
Oh, and then in AA Waze will show my car traveling sideways on the screen instead of actually orienting the road top to bottom.
It's working fine for me on the N9860. I have next to the system app version of AA also AA for phone screens installed so I can set preferences for AA on my phone. No display issues at all. I do experience sound routing problems in combination with some sound assistant settings. Multi Sound and Separate App Sound conflict with AA audio routing. You need to keep rhse settings off in Sound Assistant.

Damn, I was really hoping it was a known issue.
I have not had the audio issue however I do see that my car is not oriented properly on the map.
Make sure location setting is set for greatest accuracy.
Try clearing the System cache on the boot menu.
Try clearing cache and data if necessary on associated apks .
Is the GPS sensor working properly... check it with maps make sure it's not intermittent.
Yea, if I hop over to maps, it's running correctly. I've uninstalled and reinstalled waze. It also only does it with AA. If I unplug the phone, waze runs fine.
Waze is pretty worthless; it's dependent on Goggle maps running in the background to operate.
Just pretty face with no brains.
Try it in Safe Mode. If it runs correctly, it's a 3rd party apk.

Uhh, what?! They use totally different mapping services.. They're based off open street maps. It will run just fine with maps uninstalled.
Also, android auto doesn't work in safe mode.

You can't uninstall gmaps normally... it's running in the background when waze is being used.
When I package blocked gmaps, waze went doa; it needed it.
Works just fine on my phone with maps disabled. Waze doesn't use any code, or services from maps. They're still a separate entity, just owned by google.

Haven't used it in 2 years. I saw this behavior though.
Blocked or disabled? I blocked it so gmaps couldn't run in the background which it loves to do.
Just an update, Waze told me to just lock north up, which kinda sucks as a fix. September update didn't fix the issue.
I have this persistent music issue junt one time, but I just can´t get the notifications in the right language. Don't matter if I set the car and everything on my phone to my native language, it always read the notifications in english

This is a know issue with AA and Android 10 that is not affecting only Brazil. Google acknowledged it AFAIK but a fix was never delivered. Not sure if someone with Android 11 that used to have this problem can report if it still happens.
I read somewhere (sorry, can't recall where) that if you change the assistant language to English somehow it will read your messages in the right language in AA. Or maybe it was about changing the phone language to English and keeping the assistant in your language.
May have ended up causing more confusion than helping.

I've tried this process of change the Assistant language, but not solved the issue... Maybe Android 11 came to save us
