Really wierd....but i know the solution....get it rooted and install iron rom. Then you can go into synopse, network and then make wifi mode the same for in standby as it is when awake....worked for me.....good luck m8

That's actually my SkyHigh kernel and nothing to do with custom ROM. Just root, flash CWM or TWRP recovery, flash the kernel and install synapse.
OP,
Have you tried to upgrade your firmware to a newer release? Search sammobile and manually flash with Odin.

Weird.
I take it you have no other battery saving/power saving apps installed? e.g Juice Defender (I'm guessing not if you're not rooted).
There must be something else affecting it if it's not the wifi sleep settings.
I presume you're not using smart network switching either?

I new it was your kernal that allows you to do this not the rom, just thought it would be good to give the op a solution to give the bloke a solution resulting in not only having a kernal thats mint by the way that gives him control of this function but also a much better touchwiz rom in the process....wasnt trying to discredit you m8 sorry if it appeared that way....love the work by the way m8 without people like yourself us lot would be stuck with the rubbish preset settings that arnt changable and none negotiable.

[Q] Wifi constantly cutting out on eMIUI 1.1.14

This is driving me crazy. I had stock 2.2 on my HTC Desire before, and wifi worked perfectly. Then I changed to Miui because my internal memory was chock full and now I discover that Wifi constantly cuts out without the phone switching to mobile data. This means that I've been without email notifications for hours at a time without realising. Each time I want to use my phone to surf while at home, I have to turn wifi off and then back on.
Anyone know what causes this or how I can fix it?
Update to the latest radio? To be honest, using custom roms always have their bugs. Just because they are 2.2, they are no way near the same version of coding that you get from a manufacturer so yes, there are going to be some bugs and flaws in custom roms. You could try to update the radio as I said to 5.14.05.17. You could also try putting the Wi-Fi to never sleep, Settings > Wi-Fi and Networks > Wi-Fi settings, press menu key and click advanced, changed the Wi-Fi sleep policy to never or if they don't work, backup your data and just flash the rom again with no data wipe.

I already set it to "never sleep" - it was the first thing I changed when wifi started dropping. The radio was already at the level they mentioned before I flashed it, as well, so I can't upgrade that either. I'll see what if it gets any better by rebooting it and maybe changing some settings on my router - if it doesn't, I'll do the re-flash but somehow I doubt it will fix it.
It'll be most likely a problem with the rom.

[Q] Wireless problem on the Desire HD

Hi,
Iv noticed if i leave the wireless inactive for a period of time (still connected at full strength) it will stop working as in there will be no data activity at all. I wont be able to access any websites, or use whats app messenger. The only way to resolve this problem is to switch the wireless off and back on again for it to reconnect and normal data activity begins.
Android version: 2.3.3
Software number: 2.50.405.2
I have the latest software installed including the recent wireless fix that was sent out OTA. I thought that would of fixed it, but clearly not.
Does HTC know about this and any fix in the pipeline?
Anyone????
Go to > Settings > Wireless & networks > Wi-Fi settings
in Wi-Fi settings press menu > Advanced > Wi-Fi sleep policy and set to never
Hope That Works.

Oh...my radio is: 12.54.60.25U_26.09.04.11_M2
The Radio you have is fine..
this can be one of the following problems
1. your phone software is playing up
2. your Wi-Fi router DHCP leasetime (google this) is too low hence the drop out.
3. your Wi-Fi antenna is not functioning as it should (I doubt it)
What I would suggest is try updating your phone software to the latest. if you already have the latest version then I would suggest you backup any important data saved on phone and do a Factory data reset under Setting > SD & phone storage, if that still doesn't work I would check your router settings step 2, try everything I've mentioned if all else fails........
You can always root your phone and Install a custom ROM. I used to have so many problems with the stock HTC rom: gps not fixing, bad reception, call history problems, system slowdowns now I am Using Android Revolution 5.2.5 with Radio_12.56.60.25U_26.10.04.03_M Excellent reception NO PROBLEMS and a very fast and healthy phone

Hi thanks for that! I think its due to the software installed on the phone. Before the froyo update, the server lease time was exactly the same and no problemo. Its just recently after I installed froyo things started messing up with the wifi. But iv selected the 'Best Wi-Fi performance' option and it seems fine so far, no inactivity.

[Q] keep auto connect to LTE

Hey!
So my M919V has LTE disabled..basically doesn't have under mobile network and network mode: "LTE/GSM/WCDMA (auto connect)" .
I can't flash tmobile modem due to AUTH: Fail, and secure check fail.
I flashed stock, original i337M rom and it got me the LTE option: under mobile network and network mode: "LTE/GSM/WCDMA (auto connect)" .
then I flashed back the original M919V stock rom. I have the "LTE/GSM/WCDMA (auto connect)" option, but the rom naturally goes to "GSM/WCDMA (auto connect)" only, even though the LTE is present.
So, when i pick the LTE option and reboot phone, it switches back to GSM/WCDMA . How do I fix this, i want it to always stay at "LTE/GSM/WCDMA (auto connect)".
Please help?
im on stock original windmoile 4.2.2 firmware - M919V .

lol Thank you for that, i figured it !
So, i wrote that i only see "Bell internet" APN only.
so im connected to "4G" my rom doesnt say LTE idk why. but i have to manually connect it, like i said in my original post. but it switches to just GSM/WCDMA one after I reboo my phone.
I want it to stay at LTE/GSM/WCDMA, though.

The issue being why isn't the LTE setting locking in after Boot.
The LTE setting is there which you can manually set. But upon Reboot, you have to manually set it again?
Suggestion would be to ODIN Samsung Stock Firmware. Make sure the Firmware is for your ddevice.
ODINing back to stock will flash the stock ROM, Recovery, Kernel and Modem, and get you back to where you were prior to your issue.
If you're running a custom ROM/Recovery, install those afterwards.
But first see if your issues are resolved.

I'm not sure, although I've read about this happening before. To clarify, it used to auto lock, but now it isn't. Can you remember if you made any changes prior to the issue appearing?
App installs, Kernel changes, etc.
I understand you're on stock now, but were any changes made which caused the issue, which prompted you to flash Stock Firmware, but the issue remained?

[Q] auto brightness & wifi not working on custom roms

Hi,
I've done some searching, but could not find any posts with similar issues.
I've successfully rooted & installed recovery on my 4.4 LG (v500), but I get wifi connection (halts on verification) and auto brightness (stays at 0, manual works as normal) issues when installing custom roms. I tried both slimkat and mahdi. All is well when going back to my nandroid backup of stock 4.4 rom. Does this sound familiar to anybody? Any possible remedies known?
Thanks
I've had the wifi issue on CM but not Mahdli. Maybe try checking the wifi region code in advanced wifi settings (it was set to EU or something for me). As for the brightness, I remember reading about a dimness issue if you didn't install TWRP 2.7.0.1 when coming from 4.4 stock.

Thanks for your reply. I did install the 2.7.0.1 version of TWRP before flashing the ROMs. Will go through the whole process again, reflash recovery, wipe, flash ROM and see what happens when I have some time... In the meantime any hints/tips are welcome

Solved it!
Wifi: apparently the ROMs I tried did not like DHCP in combination with an IP reservation on my router (Linksys E4200). Works now if I go for static IP, or remove tablet from IP reservation list of router.
Brightness: after using the Mahdi ROM for a while, the auto brightness function started to work normally
I'll have to give try a static IP assignment next time I try CM. Glad the brightness worked itself out. Does function normally after a reboot?

Yes, all works fine now, also after a reboot. The only thing that still has to proof itself is the battery life. Battery drain on standby on stock rom was only 2% after leaving the tablet alone for ~10 hrs, I'm hoping the Mahdi rom gets similar performance...
Hmm, I'm using the latest version of Mahdi-rom and I just checked and found out that the wifi region code is set to Europe. The odd thing is that there is no setting for USA or North America (although there is a setting for Canada). I haven't noticed any wifi problems, but you never know. So, two questions:
1. Why is there no setting for USA?
2. What issues can emerge from using the wrong wifi region code?

I'm on the latest, too. By default, it was on Europe. The option for "United States" was on the top of the "Wi-Fi region code" list.
As far as I know, region determines the wifi channels you can use. North America has 1-11, Europe has 1-13.

So I'm actually a little bit curious, what official n900w8 rom are you talking about. I've been looking for one for some time now and nothing. Please link if you can.
With regards to the WiFi. I have heard of this before. People with S5 have reported almost similar issues and solution was a script edit.
There has been ports of the new N900t lollipop rom that after a proper kernel "lean kernel" and a S5 WiFi fix. All this has worked on the n900w8 however video recording and nfc don't work.
I'm really curious as to what your set up is.
I went back to 4.4 because I use nfc so much and video recording is a must.
Thanls so much
VOLTS
Lollipop released for Canadian Note 3 SM-N900W8. Telus, Bell and virgin mobile release 5.0 two days back. See link http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-N900W8/
Have you fixed this?
I have the same problem. I tried editing the build.prop file as suggested on some posts for the 900T but it seems that my phone is not detecting root correctly, so even editing the file reverts when power cycling the phone

Fix Wifi
Edit build.prop ro.securestorage.support and ro.securestorage.knox from true to false. If they are already false change to true and then back to false. Reboot.
You must fix your root issue first, before you can apply this fix...
Good luck

I have the rom installed in my N900W8 and at first I was suffering from the WiFi password not saving. However after a few complete wipes both in twrm and in the data wipe service menu.
Now with 5.0 and with lean kernel my passwords save.
So there is a way for it to save and mine works.

Actually I am using your vision international ROM, works great. I flashed official rom but was too bloated and slow and video recording was not working. Your rom is awesome and fast and already debloted. Only thing not working is NFC which I don't use anyway. Great work..keep it up.
