Ok on kk roms my phone would charge normally with the original charger . but since the lollipop updates whenever i plug my phone in it says slow usb charging . i have in stalled chupa kernel and also have trickster mod donate and selected force fast charge but it still thinks im plugged into my pc.
Any ideas how i can get it to charge normal / faster
Plug it in to a desktop/wall charger with a 1.8A or more rating. I'm using my 2.3A Charger and any micro usb cable (all mine are genuine from various phones) and i can charge in 1hr 30 Minutes if i leave the screen off

I never used the original charger, however the one i have from my oneplus (2A) works the same too

I am charging via usb through my usb 2.0 port, and it's been about 3 hours since I've plugged it in and it is still not fully charged yet.
It was at 10% when I plugged it in.
Is that a normal time?
I have the same thing. your phone draws much less power charging through usb than through an actual outlet.
I've had my phone charge from dead to full in just under an hour when plugged into a wall charger.

Anyone else notice that our Nitro is rather fickle about the power source it receives?
If my battery is completely drained, it MUST be plugged into a higher power source than USB (so far a wall charger that ouputs 750ma works) until it gets an initial charge (usually needs at least a couple of %)...Then it will accept charging from USB (USB provides 500ma).
I can tell when it's in this "state" because it remains dead if I plug it into USB and then if I plug it into a wall charger the touch buttons at the bottom flash for a few times and then the LG logo pops up and finally a charging battery icon comes on. Considering this sequence, this seems like a functionality of the phone. I wonder if this is common, my Nexus One certainly didn't have a higher-initial charge rate requirement when the battery was dead.
I've experienceed the same scenario.

I only have chargers that operate 1.8amps and higher.
As the battery is an issue the higher the amps the faster it will charge

Well I did notice that if it was on usb...and I had bluetooth...gps, and wifi...plus running some apps and stuff...the battery actually continued to drain I think they have the usb thing as a safety measure...for some reason...I think it's odd...but meh
try a usb cable that has 2 jacks plugs to connect to tyhe computer. These cables are often supplied with external hard drives as they they require more power than can be supplied by just one usb connection.
I was also having the problem of my p-930 discharging while plugged into compute usb jack - even when screen off nad only in charge mode. I have since bought a dual plugged usb cable and it charges now. Although I haven't tried it from a completely discharged state.
my spectrum is the same way.. i can charge it with usb.. but it takes about 15-20 minutes to get enough charge to turn on

This! I only charge with a wall adapter now. I had a hard time charging it until someone here recommended this to me.
Hello
I come to you with an interesting problem.
Recently I flashed my OnePlus 3 with CM13 and the ElementalX kernel. One important thing with this kernel is that it supports dash charging.
I normally don't use dash and just charge my phone via my computer. Today however I noticed that my phone got charged really fast so I looked into it.
This is my first post on XDA so I can't post a screenshot but Ampere showed that I was charging at 1500mA with an AC charger while connected to my computers USB port.
This seems to only occur when the laptop is in sleep mode. Now I'd shrug this off as a designated USB 3.0 charging port, but a) the computer doesn't have any and b) I tried it with a USB 2.0 port and I got the same result.
Once this actually happened when the computer was awake. I plugged in my phone, and the computer gave me the USB device has malfunctioned error but my phone was charging at 1.5A
I am genuinely worried. 1.5 A is alot even IF it were a charging port. Is there something wrong with my laptop or phone. This didn't happen on stock OS btw (coincidence?)
iirc ElementalX includes fast usb charge function
Like the guy said above, it supports fast charging but 900ma max, I had the same thing with my laptop. My phone charged real fast only when it was off. Don't worry ampere is glitched on this phone seems as it shows dash charging to be 1.5A also.
This is in regarding my several week old HTC10, which I got off ebay. Phone is S-Off and running stock US unlocked firmware.
The phone is not able to negotiate quick charge with the original HTC charger.
If I use my old HTC charger (from the HTC ONE - 5V 1A) or my ipad charger (5V 2A) or my computer USB port (5V 0.5A), the phone will charge, although slowly.
If I attach the HTC 10 charger when phone is 80% or more charged (ie not really using quick charge), the HTC 10 charger will work, and phone shows "charging rapidly".
But if I use the HTC 10 charger when battery is less than 80% (presumably when the phone is asking for higher volts) I get this:
phone shows "charging on AC" for half a sec or so,
then "charging rapidly" for half a sec,
then "discharging".
This repeats every second or so, and the phone barely charges. (Certainly much slower than my 0.5A computer port.)
I suspect that the phone is having problems negotiating a charging voltage with the charger, and cycling on & off repeatedly as it tries.
I guess this is due to either a bad charger, a bad cable, or bad firmware or hardware.
I don't have other USB C cables or Quick charge 3 power brick to experiment with.
Anyone has any idea of which is likely the culprit?
This is not a deal breaker as I plan to use mostly my 1A charger to slow charge in order to preserve battery longevity. But it would be nice to figure out why quick charge is not working.
Thanks all.
Update: Borrowed a Samsung Quick Charge 2.0 adapter, and it worked with my current cable. So I guess the adapter is faulty.
well i am using an anker charger and a good usb c cable that worked with almost all phones and fast charging before
i didnt use the original charger yet or cable .. i usually tend to keep them so if i needed to sell the phone later it will be easier .. also no place for extra chargers
the phone charged 10% in 20-30 minutes ?! pocophone used to charge like 50% in 30 minutes using same charger and cable
so what do you think !! i will try to use the orginal cable and charger to make sure phone is not faulty and will update you
Anker is not compatible with any version of Huawei fast charging protocols while Pocophone is.
Use Huawei's original supercharger.
i used the original charger and original cable and it was super charging
i use the original charger and 3rd party cable and it was regular charging
i used older huawei quick charger and any cable and it was quick charging
i used anker charger and any cable and it was regular charging
so apparently the charging process in huawei is very dependant on both charger and cable .. wished it was much easier than this
i usually use the anker charger for all devices
i also get a feeling that fast charging lesser the battery life over time .. so what is your opinion about that ?!
You need a cable, which support 5V. You can find some on Aliexpress but Anker don't have cable, which support 5V
What I saw is that the first few minutes are slow or regular below 20%. After, the charge is reslly fast. Closing to 100% slow down to.
