[Q] Delay Message Sending on the Note 4? - Verizon Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello Everyone!
I was wondering if there is a "Delay Message Sending" option in the Message Settings on the Verizon Galaxy Note 4. The reason I'm asking is because I don't have that feature on my phone, and it's pretty nifty to make sure that you're sending the right message to the right person. I remember it being on the Galaxy S5, so I would be pretty surprised if Samsung didn't bring it over. I still can't find the option, "Delay message sending". Thanks for all of your answers and help!

There it's no option for that, just double check everything before you hit send.

Alright, just making sure that I wasn't missing anything! Thanks a lot

It's an option with the stock email app on the Note 4.

Disabling HTC Messaging Problem

I was wondering if any of the cooks know of a workaround for this;
I will automatically always will disable HTC messaging as I find my phone becomes unusable after sending about 5 - 10 texts to a contact (when I click on the text tab where it says 'tap to type' my phone will just hang).
The problem I've found whne disabling HTC messaging I can not use 'texting' as the main shortcut in the faviourites tab. Also even if I click on the contact name, then select 'send message' nothing happens, I also have to go into the messing tab and send from there.
I know it sounds a little trivial but I like being able to send texts in one click right than several!
Sorry if I'm not explaining this well.
EDIT: Sorry, forgot I was in the ROMS section of the forum.

Im wondering the same thing...?

Way to tell if an SMS was sent to multiple people?

Over the New Years weekend I got a text from a friend saying something like "Hope everyone has a safe New Years!". From the message it was obvious that it was sent to more than one person. I just happened to be with another friend who also received the same text. He has a Droid 3 and in his Messaging app the Send button changes to Send to All or something of that nature. Is there a way to easily tell if a message has been sent to multiple recipients without looking at the message info? I feel like this would be a huge help considering that replying to those sends a text to everyone who got the initial message. Hope that was clear.
Long press the message and put view details

Right I get that. But sometimes a message can seem like it only was sent to you, but then after you reply you find out that it indeed was not. I was hoping for an obvious way to tell, like on the Droid 3 messaging app changing the send button to say send to all.

Unless I'm mistaken, that Send to All is a Motoblur specific feature. I don't think by default that SMS messages sent to multiple recipients automatically reply to all recipients. MMS messages might, but not SMS.
I may have to test it later. I'm fairly certain the replies go only to the sender, though.

I figured that was specific to Motoblur. I like that feature though. Makes it really simple knowing if you received a mass text. I was hoping to find an app or ROM that has this feature as well.

[Q] Question, will i get a " read " report from an Iphone when i send it an MMS?

[Q] Question, will i get a " read " report from an Iphone when i send it an MMS?
I'm trying to find out if anotn IPhone will return a "read " report to my T989? I get the. "delivered" notification, but never seem to get a "read " notification. Is there a way to check? Other than having the iPhone in hand and sending MMS? I'm asking because I keep hearing from my ex wife that she didn't get the message. Thanks as always in advance.
As long as you have the option set to get the 'read report' I don't see why you wouldn't get one.

Thanks for you response. I do have my phone set to get a "read" report. I'll have to get a friend that has an iPhone and check to see if it works.

Well, I sent an MMS to a friends IPhone while sitting here in the same room, and I received the delivery report, but it has been almost an hour and no "read " message report. Anyone have any ideas other than the obviousness of making sure my setting have been ticked?
The device you're sending to can be configured to not send read reports.

Thanks elceedub. I thought about that also but, when I had a friends IPhone and sent a message to it while I had it sitting next to me, the message came through, it sent a delivery notice back to my phone but, never sent a read message back to my phone. I know this person would not even know that she could change settings for MMS notifications, she doesn't even know what MMS is. So I would have to say that it's unlikely that settings had been changed on the IPhone to not send a read report. Thanks again.

SMS Pictures Not Sending After Root

So, I am currently running AT&T Stock ROM with Superuser. And immediately after I rooted(only thing that changed) I was unable to send pictures via SMS. Size nor recipient is not a factor, it simply just attempts to send until it times out and eventually gives the "failed" flag.
I haven't seen anyone else posting about it..but I'm looking for advice as to where to start looking for a fix.
Anything is appreciated.
Thanks
Just a friendly bump.
Still experiencing this issue..would love to figure out a fix!
Thanks
There's a separate forum for the at&t note 2 you should post here
"[Sent from a galaxy y far far away] *ominous voice* Hit THANKS"
Can you not just get network settings resent to your phone from AT&T?
I'm on O2 in the UK and when I flash a new ROM I just send then a text and a few seconds later I receive network settings for picture messages.
I know you can add them manually, but why have a dog and bark yourself?

text message DELAY option on the NOTE 4?????

I was wondering if anyone knew a way i could use the text message delay option on the NOTE 4.. like on the Note 3 (JoshBeach ROM)
I'm not 100% sure, but don't think stock messaging app has that option. easiest fix would be to use a 3rd party sms app. I'd recommend handcent sms, you can choose your delay time. Hope this helps. Also, just a friendly fyi, but ?s should go in the Q&A section.

Ok you can "SCHEDULE" a message if that is what you mean.
Open the messaging app. Open the contact you want to message and type the message out. After you type the message hit the 3 dots in the top right corner of your screen. Then you can select schedule message for any time to be delivered. I hope this helps a lil.
text message delay
I meant when you send a text it will count down for 5,3,10 seconds before it actually goes thru and u can stop it if you misspell or send to the wrong person... Im just trying not to send the wrong message it was cool on my NOTE 3 Rom....
i use chompsms, which is free (ad-supported) from google play. it lets you do the delay you're looking for. here's a screenshot.
