If you format internal.. The backup is deleted.. Thats why I always use the ext sd for backups..

@live16: from TWRP, Backup, Storage setting, you should have a choice of Internal Storage, Micro SDcard and USB-OTG and the free space shown for those.

I have a question, when I format the system to put a new ROM, how can I save the data? Can I like back it up on the computer? If so, how?
If it is your app data you want backed up use titanium backup you can backup the app data then restore it after you have reinstalled all of your apps the rest of the stuff saved to your phone should still be there unless you are formatting the internal memory.

Connect to PC via USB and select enable USB storage when the USB icon appears on the status bar. Two drives should pop up if you have a SD installed also. Open the one that is your internal memory approx. 11.25gb (check the properties in My Computer if you are unsure). Now make a new folder on the desktop "backup", copy or cut the files from the internal card and paste into the new folder & violla ! Backup of your pictures and such from the internal memory. If you want to format the internals there in an option under Menu>Settings>Storage to Erase the internal SD (again its the one @ 11.25gb) If you simply want to format the system partitions for optimal performance use TDJs Superwipe here.
Hope that helps !

Right, I was just restating that there's no read to wipe the EMMC if he's just flashing a different ROM.

Hi, Im running MIUI v4 and when I go to App Manager It says I have about 54MB left in my internal storage. However, When I try to download Skype (about 25MB) It says that my internal storage is full. I'm not sure if thats a system bug or it's not showing my internal storage correctly? Any ides on this?

It Does.
In CWM partition your SD card to ext4 and
try ex2int --> put it to init.d folder in rom package and reflash your phone. After restart and reboot you will have a space from sd card on your phone.

One question. I understand I have to reflash ROM for this but can I use a backup to restore it after wipe so I dont't have to install everything all over again, Or I must reflash NEW ROM?
Use odex version.

try fix permission in advance setting of cwm. if not working either, try flshing another recovery (philztouch cwm or twrp).. make sure you have enough space.. could also try swapping with another sd card,
ClockworkMod does not support EXFAT formatted cards. ExFAT is the default for 64GB cards.
Use TWRP or get a second card, format to FAT32 and use it just for backups
Hi guys okay so i have a problem. i have cwm recovery and i have slim bean on my s4 installed and the thing is i i tried flashing a rom from my external sd card 32gb and it automaticallly fails no matter how many times i try and its fat32 aswell thats what it says on its properties. But when i move the rom to my phone memory it flashes just fine so what is the matter here? If someone could help ASAP that would be awesome

Backup your SD card data, reformat the SD card. And restore the data, should work. However, the issue i was having with flashing ROMs was not due to SD card issues, but my actual data partition was corrupt and using CWM i formatted my entire data partition and everything flashed properly then.

Sometimes it flashes a rom and other times the same rom doesnt flash??? Can you tell me what you formatted from cwm so i can try that too

Back up your internal SD card and wipe the data partition completely. Youre having the exact same issues i was. its not the recovery, TWRP sucks imo

Amen brotha, amen. :highfive:
Unnessasary hate
Lol why you guys hating I got twrp and did what you said and all seems to be good I think twrp is better because in twrp there's a key important feature which is a file manager built in let's you move zips from sd card to internal or vice versa cwm doesn't have that

It has some nice features but for me, the only real functions for recovery are:
1) Wipe data/cache/dalvik and some other mounts.
2) Nandroid backup and restore.
Don't have any other needs, and CWM hasn't given me any troubles in ages, TWRP on the other hand... But if CWM had the file manager, it would make it that much better for me.
