see the link to the RUU in my sig - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=869048
should work if you have a non-branded handset - else you might need a goldcard.
I haven't delved much into custom ROMs yet - but AFAIK you should be able to just run this straight over the top - it will remove root etc. right back to stock

Cell info:
Bravo PVT1 S-on
Radio: 5.11.05.27
HBOOT: 0.93.0001
MICROP-031d
Baseband version: 32.49.00.32U_5.11.05.27
OS version: 2.3.4
Mod: GingerVillian
kernel version: 2.6.38.4
This is all the information I could find for the cell. Dont know what any of it means The RUU I got from another section is: RUU_Bravo_Froyo_HTC_WWE_2.29.405.5.exe
Can I install this RUU on my phone to return it to STOCK FROYO?
how do I install it, a guide please, saying "flash the rom" is just unhelpful to someone who doesnt know a thing about this business.
The following thread should help:

Use some logic...the RUU file is an .exe, which is a Windows program. This would mean you have to run it on Windows. Then you'd be presented with instructions for the rest. Use a little common sense
why not try another custom rom . it's great fun

As above - it actually has full instructions while running the RUU.
but for basics you click something like 'I agree to return my phone back to the stock image, and confirm that I know it will wipe all user data etc. etc'
Then click accept to 'I agree that it must be above 50% battery life, and connected to the PC via USB cable' - then I think it verifies that it can find the phone, then says something about it will replace the current image with the stock image (2.29.405.5), then basically just says wait a couple of minutes, your phone reboots and flashes for a few minutes (I think with a big HTC logo and a progress bar), then when it's done it says DONE! and your phone reboots into the welcome wizard as if you turned it on for the first time...

I'd have thought as you have a custom rom on already, you should be able to re-flash any rom over the top of the gingerbread one

the RUU shouldn't, I think you can run the RUU from fastboot too... although might be worth getting someone to confirm that...

Ran the RUU from fastboot, there is an option to UPDATE the ROM so I canceled. Shouldnt there be an option to replace the ROM?

Problem solved! Installed a custom rom that is pre rooted stock froyo. Thanks everyone Special thanks to Lothaen.

update is just poor english - it means replace. - it'd also wipe the root etc.
But glad you got it working the easy way by just flashing a froyo over the gingerbread.

try to do a complete rom refresh (return to stock, look for my signature, there will be almost anything you will need). It happened to me, when I flashed a wrong ruu os via cwm, but after the ruu it worked like it must.
After flash the bootup can last long enough, so wait for at least 5 mins.

There is the VirginMobile/sprint RUU for the PrimoC out at the stock ruu section if you mean that.
But then again, if the phone is already rooted, a custom will be more safer, and/or reasonable and not to mention faster.

I have a htc one v and was trying to update to jelly bean through steps from Android Authorty's guide
After completing this set of instructions I booted up my phone and sadly all I got was a htc screen with the red writing which then turned black and nothing happened after that.
Im pretty worried right now, I dont have much knowledge about androids and I have but a clue as to what I have just done.
Is it permanently damaged? How do i fix this or atlest restore it to the factory state.
Please help!

as for the OP: make sure you also flash the KERNEL for the respective rom. it is not enough to install only the ROM. You need also the kernel because we currently have S-ON devices.

It dosent change from there.
Have i done permanent damage because i installed the CDMA version!?
now im getting something really weird my phone goes to the htc screen with red writing then shuts off by itself and then turns on again by itself in a endless cycle of this red writing htc screen.

Alright... let's get your phone fixed!
I assume you have:
1. Unlocked bootloader
2. Installed a recovery
3. Installed a custom CDMA ROM
4. Then installed a GSM ROM
5. Now phone keeps rebooting?
Is that correct?

You still didn't tell what version of cm you were using. As far as I know a wrong kernel flash can brick the phone. Though that stuff is beyond my knowledge so you should wait untill someone more qualified could answer you. I'm not sure if a simple flash rom would solve the problem.

ah, so that was the problem. Glad everything worked out : D
Yes, that should fix. Bootloop occurs when our system crash. So, it cant be loaded. It is also called a softbrick. But it is not really dangerous, as we can simply flash back our rom back, as long it is save on your sdcard. Also you can restore nandroid backup. Nandroid backup is a backup for our system if our system crash. It can crash, if the rom we download did not aborted or something, our system should not be crash. That's why after every download, we need to verify the md5sum.

Is there anyway i can get the stock ROM, Kernel, those Stuff? i just want my phone to work!
It could be that when you are in bootloader you are not flashing the boot image correctly. If you rooted with htcdev.com i expect you have the ADB files for fastboot on your PC as well as the driver to push commands via fastboot.
If you do not get the red text indicating HTC dev etc when you boot, it seems you didn't flash the boot.IMG properly. Make sure you extract the boot.IMG from the ROM zip and put it in in the directory where your adb files are. Open a command window there (shift+right click on windows will give option in menu) and Type exactly
fastboot flash boot boot.img
This will flash the kernel designed for the ROM to the phone for it to boot the ROM you flashed. If it does not automatically reboot, use the volume keys and power button to do so.
I recently went through something that sounds similar so my advice might help. Pros, feels free to correct me if I got something wrong.
