Hello, you could try using MX Video Player from the market, and also install MX Player Codec.
I've enjoyed many anime in MKV and AVI formats and so far it works fine for me
hi,
i highly recommend QQplayer..no adds, no instalation of additional files..just install the app and your good to go..very user friendly..also comes with gesture options..so if you want to increase volume(swype up, swype down for lowering)etc..
you can get it on MARKET(FREE)

I prefer the MX player of google market
had many codecs to all the kinds of media and dont requires all acess to your device.
There are so many free players on google that free but when you install you give the permission to acess your personal data, personal information, gps location and much other permissions that i cant understood why they need all this information and how they will use this
How about winamp?? its good or what?? jehehe
Nothing can beat MX Player as the best video player of Android.

Hello everyone, i have Blu ray rip mkv (from 20-40gb each mkv) in my usb hdd, when i play it on my Galaxy note 2 the video runs fine but without audio and when the video starts a msg appear at the bottom says something about only video is playing. I have MX player pro, PlayerPro, Real Player and i tried on all of them and on defualt video player as well. The funny thing is the tv series episodes like vampire diaries, mentalist, big bang theory i download in 720p rip mkv(from 900mb to 1.5gb) it runs perfectly. Is there some sort of codecs i need for the audio in Blu ray rips i'm trying to play or some other player.
I'll be very grateful for help.

try bsplayer.
I tried all the apps you mentioned with no luck. Bsplayer can play everything i got in my video library.
ok I will, Thanks.
I use dice player. It's played anything I've thrown at it so far and it has a pop up feature as well.
With MX Player Pro try going into settings and changing it from H/W to S/W.. That's what I use and everything I watched plays just fine
bs player handsdown. i tried them all, non of them would play DTS audio mkv file except bs player. unfortunately, stock samsung has better video quality but no sound lol
Actually the stock player should be able to handle them.
I have mx player installed and bs player also.
One thing that bs player has that others don't, playing videos over a Windows share. You can play music videos back to back without needing to select the next song.

Both myself and my brother have played mkv files on our devices with no issues. I have the note II and he has an s III .... not sure what the issue is you are having but I don't think it is the video player... I use stock, so does he.
+1 for BSPlayer, also consider Archos with the additional Codec Add-on
I've found that on my version of the Note II, MXPlayer Pro, the default Video Player, IMToo, all did not work because of the lack of an AC3 codec.
The ones that worked were:
- Archos Video Player (with the Codec Add-On installed)
- BSPlayer
- VLC, however does not play .m4v files
- XBMC, however lags on playback
In the end it was between Archos and BSPlayer. The Archos Player has a better UI along with the ability to bookmark within the video. BSPlayer has the capability of resizing the video to any size, and locking the aspect ratio on-screen. It also connects to opensubs.org to download external subs on the fly, if needed.
Being an XBMC / OpenELEC user, since I'm comfortable with the interface and the plug-in system, I'm hoping that it will be optimized for Android in the future. When that day comes, I will switch back to XBMC. But for now, I flip back between Archos and BS Player.
Thanks for your help guys, my problem is solved

Hi freaks,
I have a Tab S 8.4 LTE and try to stream from my VU+ (SAT-TV-Receiver similar Dreambox) on the tablet. The stream is in TS-format (= MPEG-2) and it works on my 3 year old kindle fire and an a kindle fire hd.
I tried diffferent player apps, e.g. mx player, bs player and vlc - always the same effect. The player doesn't work or the stream works a few minutes and then the picture have big pixels and after this still picture. It doesn't matter if the stream is in hd oder sd - the wlan speed ist very good, more than 8 MB/sec and it works on my other devices. My workaround - only per mx-player with SW-support but then with low frames and bad quality. The mx-player don't play a stream per HW support and per HW+ support it makes trouble.
If I take a TS-movie file local on the tabelt it works perfect - even with the samsung app video player. It works with mx player per SW-support , HW and HW+ support. And yes, I installed manually the suitable ARM7-Codec.
Such a great tablet (best display) but I can't stream my tv on the tablet. Has anyone the problem or an answer?
Greets Bob
I was wondering if anyone has gotten MX Player to play 10-bit videos on the Fire TV Stick. I am trying to use the free MX Player with the ARMv7+NEON Codec but I am not able to get it working. If anyone else has gotten it working then I won't give up trying, but if not it just might not be possible.
Custom codec test
I tried downloading the Arm v7-Neon Codec from the following link and using it instead of the apk codec and it still does not work.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/mx-player/mx-player-custom-codec-dts-support-t2156254
If anyone else has a 10-bit video and can confirm that it doesn't work that would be helpful.
Hello All,
I have a TCL iFfalcon Android certified TV. The default video player works almost perfect all the time. However, the default player could not load subtitles while playing from DLNA using UMS or BubbleUPnP. So I would like to load these videos in the MX Player app which I installed from Play Store. However I could not find any way to do this. I have tried all methods like resetting app preference etc.
Any help is highly appreciated.
