Hey guys,
I'm running the GPE ROM on my One M8 (was a stock unlocked model with Sense 6), and I'm wanting to restore the phone completely to the stock HTC Sense ROM, stock recovery etc, yet I can find pretty much NOTHING about restoring the stock ROM to an unlocked handset, hoping someone can help me out with this.
Thanks in advance

As far as I know in order to reinstall the original stock ruu you will need to relock (unroot) your phone. If you want something near to stock rom then I would suggest the Android Revolution rom.
Android Revolution works even better than stock. You'd try it!
restore the nandroid backup?
Hi i have an HTC one x telecom NZ running stock JB 4.1.1 I just wanted to know if i can root it and will be able to install custom rom on it. I have rooted my htc one x before and trying installing cyanogen mod 10.1 but there are no ways to update to the higher hboot capable of installing custom roms as telecom firmware has a cid of TELNZ001. Many people have the same problem in NZ and are not able to install any other roms other than the original stock roms. Telecom NZ has finally pushed official JB update for HTC one x so i unrooted my device to receive the OTA update and it is running fine but the experience is still not that good with sence 4+ skin so i really want to run a custom rom. Anyone please help and suggest any ways i could install custom rom onto it. Also i am not really sure if rooting method is the same as when it was running stock ICS 4.0.3.
I truly appreciate all your help.
Rooting is still the same, and yes you should be able to run any custom rom out here. Make sure to make a NANDROID BACKUP of the stock rom. Because you have a rare CID !
Hey guys,
I'm currently running a HTC One M8 with Skydragon GPE rom w Kitkat.
I was just wondering if I need to flash a Sense ROM first before proceeding to converting my phone back to full stock?
I'm also S-on.
Thanks for your help!

Run the splash they provide to return to Sense, then run the appropriate RUU for your MID to make sure you are re-partitioned correctly.

Hey, I appreciate the reply. But I read somewhere that this is only applicable if I converted my device to GPE. Im only running a GPE ROM.
My device was originally running Sense 6.
Hello everyone.
I am wondering how can I go back to the stock ROM and kernel on my HTC One M8. Right now I am running the LiquidSmooth ROM on Android L, but I would prefer to return to the stock one. My phone is S-ON, unfortunately, and I have the European model. If someone could please help me out, I would really appreciate it. I would like to have the stock ROM on Android L, because I'm used to it.
Thanks!
Restore your nandroid that you should always make of your stock setup before flashing ROMs.
Otherwise, find your stock ROM on the following thread, and restore using the instructions given on the thread:

You can use the guide in my signature. Some parts require S-OFF but most can be done with an S-ON device, so long as it's definitely the EU model
I think I know the answer to this question but I passing my rooted aosp M8 to my wife but would like to take it back to stock rom. I do have a nandroid of the O2 (UK) rom but would ideally prefer to go for a WE stock HTC rom. My M8 is is rooted but s-on BTW. So will it be fine to just flash stock HTC rom need to be s-off.

You can flash a stock ROM or you could flash an RUU
