Hi,
I'm trying to root my device using Ioroot, however after doing adb sideload ioroot.zip I get in the device:
E:Footer is wrong
E: signature verification failed
Installation aborted.
Anyone knows why?

ioroot is a batch script for your pc. Unpack it in your PC.

Of course I did that. It's wrong to immediately assume that I did something incorrect.
You may remember that after running the .bat on the pc, after that the process gives some information on the device itself, and that's where I got those errors.
You could try towelroot

That worked, thanks !
Still wondering why the other root solutions (based on running something on pc don't work though)

HI
ioroot requires the batch file to be altered.
Open it in editor and change the script where it shows v50020b to v50020d and save it.
You can then run the batch file and it will root the LG Pad 8.3
Stransky
Had a question, but sideload method seems to work.

Have you read any of the threads or did you just download the files and try rooting? Cuz, I swear the answer to any question you might have about rooting is in at least five of the threads about rooting the P930.
I've read through the threads, i tried superoneclick and doomlord from the posts. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, but i always get failed, my phone restarts and it's not rooted. I've never rooted an android, i need help.

I've been told that this works so give it a try but 'READ' it all 2-3 times before going ahead so you don't fail, I will be trying it on my LG Nitro/P935 after Christmas Day and will report back but there are many others with issues that were solved from what I've read in this thread:

I finally got the phone to root with Bin4ry. It worked like a champ. Now I'm having issues with clockworkmod recovery flashing. I found the bc64-recovery.img and put it on my sdcard. When i tried to use the terminal emulator to set this as the recovery file but the:
=> su
=> cd / sdcard
=> cat bc64-recovery.img > /dev/block/mmcblk0p13
says the access is denied to set as the recovery file. Any help would be appreciated. I've also deleted and reinstalled the TE app and there is no permisions to allow in the superuser app.

So... you've read all the threads about rooting the Nitro but neglected seeing where it specifically says in almost every thread that you can't install CWM on offical Ice Cream Sandwich? You have to unbrick if you have official ICS if you want ClockWorkMod. Pick any of the links below. All of them root and install CWM. There is no other way at the moment.

Hey this won't be any help regarding you're problem, but I was wondering how you rooted you're 10.2.6 kf2. I've tried every method to root my own device but I haven't been successful. Which method did you use? How long did it take you before it finally worked? Is there a link to the way you did it? Any tips or tricks I need to know for a correct root?

I also "spent" hours trying to root, backup and install CM10 on my KF2 software version 10.2.3 and later updated to 10.2.6, before finally succeeding.
The information is in multiple threads on XDA.
After succeeding i was motivated in collecting and putting everything in one place ( i created a small blog on this specific subject):
someonelikesIT.wordpress.com
it has all the pointers towards every step described in XDA threads.
Hope it helps you achieve your goal.
It is not easy like next-next-next but not impossible (no IT background required but good understanding of english and some IT basic skills).
Good luck!

Hi there,
for some time now I have been trying to update B116 to B117 getting the same error message every time:
View attachment 2311424
assert failed: apply_patch_check ("/system/app/HwCloudDrive.apk" ... )
E:Error in /sdcard/HwOUC/update.zip
(status 7)
I am guessing the update does not match the HwCloudDrive.apk (not sure, new to this). What have I tried:
1. Check the /system/app/HwCloudDrive.apk - not found in the folder, nor anywhere else on the phone. Searched the web, downloaded one apk, install failed for no reason (reason not stated, just that it failed)
2. Restoring factory settings several times
3. re-downloading many times
4. updating online as well as localy
So far nothing worked out. Some details about my phone:
Its P6-U06, android 4.2.2, baseband IMC1202_PENTA, kernel 3.0.8-00821, build B116SP01, bought in China, using New Zealand SIM (could this be a problem?)
Any help would be much appreciated
Thanks to all!

There is a non so straight forward way to get it though by editing the "updater-script" file in the [ROMFileName].zip
You will need to unzip, edit the file (remove the line) with notepad and zip it back.
I've able to make it works with P6's MIUI V5 Offline OTA update rom.

I tried to install the flashable zip with TWRP but it failed.
Then I pushed the unzipped file you uploaded first via ADB.
The process was finished without error but the timestamp of the file remained the same, 08dec, while yours is 10dec.
Nevertheless I tried the update to 4.4.2 via sideload again, and it failed again with the same error message, something like "system/bin/debuggerd has unexpected content".
Could you update to 4.4.2 with your debuggerd file?

Was the device in recovery mode or booted normally when you tried the adb push? If in recovery, was /system mounted? What was the failure in TWRP with the debuggerd flashable file and what's the exact filename of the 4.4.2 update file you're using? That'll tell me the exact version of debuggerd you'll need to pass the checksum validation.

I did all this with the Nexus Root Toolkit made by Wugfresh.
The device booted normally when the adb push took place.
I added two screenshots, one of the zip install and the other one of the update.
The 4.4.2 update file is from the also failed OTA update which I found in the cache folder and then saved.
The filename:
f221553ab745f4671e2c2f6a2cb0e4bf857886ea.signed-razorg-KOT49H-from-KRT16S.f221553a.zip

Hi,
i flash B118 or B125 with and without root. Its no problem..
You only have to root your device again after flash.
I flashed without root to B125. So root is not needed
