Got a used HOX from my dad. The digitizer is cracked so im gonna try repair myself.
Found a couple good priced ones on Ebay. (lcd + digitizer assemblys)
The question is, is there a differense (except from the logo) between the AT&T version and the HTC original one (or the unbranded one)?
Noticed there is a small difference between the lcds on Ebay, namely the little square on the left side.

Will all of them work?
Was going to buy this one, since it shipped quickly to sweden.

Yea, International and American versions, Green and Yellow cables.
If you use American display on International one, the touch won't function at all.

Hi all,
I have on order a Tilt2, and am wondering if it has the back cover with the wire-mesh oval design (which I prefer), or the rows of holes which start as a whole line of holes near the top and then less holes each successive row coming down to a point. And if it doesnt come with the cooler back, is it possible to buy the cooler one off ebay or some supplier site and replace it or wont it fit or something. I wouldnt bother with such a question, but if I need to order a new back, I'd like to do it asap so I dont have to go around with the crappy one for a long time
Thanks
att tilt 2

all the backs are interchangable anyways so if you do or dont like one more than the other, just buy a new one.
Incorrect. I believe CDMA and GSM covers are not interchangeable because of the lacking of a 3.5mm jack on the gsm models.
Awesome !! Thanks !
Looks like my tilt will come with the back that I wanted, no need to change !
Nice shiny black with the mesh oval. I dunno how anybody could live with the one with all those holes on it. Thanks for your help, i really appreciate it, I found like a million pics of the front of the phone all over the web, the back is a little more elusive

oh your right. though i bet you could put a cdma cover on a gsm and just have some small gaps around the charger port.
Ok guys so i recently cracked the lcd screen on my desire z. I have found original replacements on ebay for around the $70 mark.
But when i phoned a mobile repair centre they mentioned needing to get the serial number of the lcd before they could order the part, are there different lcd screens across different devices in the world? Or am i safe to just but the ones off ebay. I purchased mine from clove in the UK.
My other question, is the digitizer glued to the LCD and therefore difficult to replace LCD without doing digitizer too? Is alignment a common problem once they have been put back together like i have seen on some phones?
The repair centre said about $175 to replace it, is that worth forking out for for peace of mind or could i do it myself. I'm fairly confident and have done it on cheaper phones.
Thanks heaps guys!!!!
noone can help me?
I took my first g2 apart cause I cracked the screenand was gonna replace it. The lcd screen is not glued to gthe digitizer. I don't know about part number or different screens as I got lazy lol.here's a pic of what it looks like without the lcd hope it helps

I have paint peeling off and was wondering how I can fix it without replacing the whole screen, do not want to spend $200+.

In Canada with Rogers, bought it off someone on a trading site with no receipt. Am I completely screwed?
Pretty much..
Might not be screwed. Its seems as a deficit. Call Samsung. Might still be able to do a warranty claim.

If you get no result with samsung warranty you can try to buy a new screen on ebay and replace it. Since the faceplate is glued to the screen its the easiest way i can think. Be sure to buy the screen for the i747 not the international version or it won't fit. Theres a lot of video on the net showing how to replace screen on s3.
So did u ever get it fixed or replaced

My problem is that I was searching in ebay but it seems that all the front glass that are on sale, are chinese knockoffs.
Does anybody knows any European Store that sells genuine gorilla glass s4 mini frontĀ“s?

I can't say for the S4 mini, but I had cracked my LCD for the S3 so I'll share my experience here.
- The LCD assembly, digitizer and gorilla screen is one unit and fused together with glue. Change just the part require a heat-gun and very delicate labour. This isn't for everyone.
- Don't bother search for cheaper price else where. When I had to replace mine, I search all over - retail, online, you name it. And for original "Samsung" screen, the price isn't far apart (which is US$ 200). Only non-Samsung screen would be cheaper, and not by much as well.
- At end of the day, I went with a Samsung authorized service center, since I don't want a potential a fake non-AMOLED screen (which count for more than 50% of the reason for my Samsung purchase). Plus they give me 3 month warranty on labour, which at non authorized Samsung center only give warranty for the screen itself.
- Different Samsung center may have slight variant on price, since some of them is outsourced or contractor. Check if Samsung for your country can provided the list and just check with the ones near you for pricing.
My two cents.
Thanks some good info
Hello everyone!
So, here's the story.
G3 put on subwoofer, falls down, gorilla glass screen cracked. Full working but cracked. So, new display+digitizer+frame, all already attached to itself.

Loot at the photos and the digitizer circuit. And then look at this:

Are you looking? The above is my old screen and the circuit of digitizer is the same as on pictures from link above. The bottom screen is the new one that came to me from China. Do you see difference?
Well... Though I like new things... Screen worked. I noticed an input lag, when I was fast typing on keyboard. When I typed a word really fast, the lag occurred and then a the word was fast written. Not important.
But after a few hours (like 16) digitizer stopped working at all. From its own. I just pulled the phone out of my pocket and couldn't unlock the screen. Touch was gone.
You, dear reader, you are smart. So you think it's probably a bad resistor like here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t_9QHXZnZ1g
No it isn't. I tried my old cracked screen and everything works there.
Question:
Do you think it was just a false component on circuit? It happened with this new (I just think it's newer) circuit, but also could happen on an old one. I just was unlucky.
Or is this new digitizer designed for some new versions of G3 phones? Mine has approximately 3 years.
When I'm gonna buy a new screen, should I be looking for digitizer as on my old screen? Is it even possible to buy them?
Sorry I made it so long. I know no one likes reading
