[Q] Xperia ZL China version issue - Sony Xperia ZL

I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask but I would like to know if there's a way to remove the China restrictions on a Xperia ZL ( like the Google services, Twitter and other types of censorship limitations ) ?

No, I live in Europe, I'm asking because I can buy this phone for a pretty good price but it's the China version of it and I do not know if the chinese censorships can be removed or not.

A flash would do the trick. since it's still C6503.

If your bootloader is unlocked, then you can flash anything possible to flash on your device.. :good:

I'm also from Estonia and I haven't got it. Did you get it in the PC app or on the phone?
Did you try rooting afterwards, does the locked BL method work?

Okay, since no one seems to have asked this question yet, what's new/changed? Were you able to spot something different?

You gotta wait until they release it in your region, does not matter if you got the phone from out of country.

Yes it does, It matters what CSC is on the phone, and Where the phone came from. Meaning the Version of the phone we have will NEVER come to the USA . (Which is were I live) thus no software updates in the USA. Where my phone came from when they get the update I get the update.
Just plugged my 2 day old Xperia ZL into PC companion and its dowloading 10.1.A.1.434 to update...

AWESOME! I just got it! I couldnt get it yesterday But I got it tonight!
Only 2mb so I wonder what changed?
i heard some ppl said that it would not let u unlock BL
^ You may be right. The member in the thread linked below claimed he had an unlockable bootloader and lost it after the 434 update. If you were planning on unlocking and flashing ROMs, you may want to wait until someone can confirm it.

No, the BL unlock status doesn't change with the 10.1.A.1.434 update. I updated to .434 and BL unlock allowed says "yes" for mine.

It is Arabia region ... probably Middle East Arabia.
Philippines and Singapour region ROMs are available too for this version of the firmware. Nothing else at the moment.
Hi.
Does this work on other regions like Europe, too?
What´s the difference between all this versions specially released for one country, or region?
Is there only other Bloatware on it, or something else?
Thx,
Marco

i installed now via flashtool, only exclude the baseband. All works fine until now. There are a lot of Bloatware in it, but all of them are deleted by me without problems.
Now i will test the "standard" use of the Phone.
Thank you very much for uploading.
Marco
I flashed it on my 6503 with baseband. Had Nordic fw before. Seems ok so far. Found that I got lte instead of 4g as a logo.

Depending on if you are unlocked or from carrier.. Carriers mostly put there own apps.. But both unlocked or locked just delete unwanted apps u dont use to free up space..

[Q] Sony Xperia ZQ important questions

Hi, I m from Brazil
I just bought a Xperia ZQ and it s my first Sony. Can you help me with some questions?
I ve already know that I can change my carrier version by another registered one downloaded right here in xda website without root or unlock the bootloader, right?
As I m not a developer, why would I need to root and unlock the bootloader?
Where, if It is possible, can I find different skins and themes for it?
How can I know about new upates? For example, new releases of firmware or android versions?
Thank you

Its called Xperia ZL so just search it on the search for device bar. You dont have to be a developer to unlock as unlocking can give you cool roms that can be very much customized.

You get updates thru SONY and you will get a notification when you can get a update.
To see if you can unlock your bootloader go to
http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/instructions as it will tell you the directions then once you have unlocked, go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=2095 and find some roms. ( its a little dangerous if you dont know what your doing ) and UNLOCKING will void the warranty

If you have already unlocked your bootloader, without backing up your Drm Keys, then you wont get the bravia engine back.

I havent unlocked my bootloader yet. I just rooted (the bootloader changed unlockable yes to no), installed cwm and made a backup using cwm, saved in internal storage. Is that enough? Is this backup saved the drm keys?
Thank you

Use the tutorial I have linked above, with that method you will get your phone back to factory-state when you want to.

The phone is fantastic, but the battery is below average even with 3g, altough the relates i hear about SIV are even worse. Since HTC don't sell officialy in Brazil anymore, i don't trust in LG and Motorola don't have a rival for these phones i think ZQ is the best choise.
I'm a heavy user, so i charge it twice a day,but with moderate use + stamina mode i think you can get a day of battery.

Can I use any region's firmware from Xperifirm?

My device is an E6883. As long as I download another E6883 firmware am I good? Even if its from a different region?

I have E6853 and I flashed Poland, generic, some different t-mobile ones and truth be told they all seem about the same. But to each it's own.

Probably fine on 90% of them, but be wary some carriers (Like Bell Mobile in Canada, Another in Mexico) Have special hardware for whatever reason, and also have bloatware you cannot remove (Without root). Honestly, without trying all of them I couldn't tell you but I would stick with the ones that say "customized" as those are usually the phones sold from amazon/ebay/other online sites that sell unlocked phones. They won't have any carrier specific problems.
I have the E6853 but I can tell you stay away from Canada and Mexico, and I can tell you Singapore, Taiwan, and Germany all work great.
I know customised CN has no gapps. So flash it if it pleases you.

I'm really interested in the answer to this question also. Can anyone please post an answer.
Can you please link the T835n update that you used. I'm still trying to figure out how to buy the right tablet off ebay that is unlocked.
Also did pie break anything on the tablet? I read something about a couple of programs didn't work anymore but can't find the thread now.
I want the LTE even though I have Verizon now I might switch to t-mobile if this works since my DW's iPad needs replacement soon. Because screw Verizon.
https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/galaxy-tab-s4/firmware/SM-T835N/
This thread has been dead a long time, but maybe this info will be useful for someone anyway ...
My Tab S4 SM-T830 died. Don't like the keyboard form factor on the Tab S6/S7 (very hard to use on a plane and I travel a lot) ...
So, bought an SM-T835N (new from S. Korea) that arrived today. Decided to risk flashing the UK version of the SM-T835 ROM (from Sammolbile) onto it, in theory, I could always reflash the original ROM if things didn't work out.
All good! The SM-T835N now reports as an SM-T835. Put in a Vodafone SIM and that works ... so, happy-chappy me!
Now have LTE/4G and 6GB of RAM
