Hello Everyone, I am new here,
I have bought Micromax Ninja A89 today and like to know how to root the same. Have searched internet extensively but cannot find.
Do any one guide on this? Also is there any custom ROM for the same? Seems to be rebranding of Chinese phone model.

Is there anything to worry about if i fail ? :/
EDIT: One more thing, will roms of a110 work on this as both phones have almost same specs? Also, i think i should try by a110 method instead of a68 one.

Flashing stuff from any other phone than yours can ruin your phone and brick it. Don't ever try that again, or you may have to regret, if you don't have a backup. Root methods can be generic, but stuff like clockworkmod (or cwm) recovery and ROMs from a different phone would NEVER EVER work on your phone unless someone ports it to your device.
And btw, I noticed that the link you posted to the root method of A110 you used was a blatant copy from my rooting guide for A110,lol: http://www.droidiser.com/2012/11/micromax-a110-rooted-how-to-guide.html
And btw, here is everything you need to know about Clockworkmod Recovery.
And as you are a newbie, you should read this too: http://www.droidiser.com/2013/01/things-know-before-android-tutorial.html
First of all, a link's broken in the prev. post ^^^^^^
Now, I want to install CWM desperately on my device. But you are saying that i can brick my phone doing so.
But as mmx a110 has a same spec, even then my phone can be bricked?

Just wondering, LG will release Lollipop soon right? should I root now or just wait for the 5.0 update?

I would root right now while you have the chance and install a custom lollipop rom.
After the official lollipop gets released by LG it will lock your bootloader, If you already have it unlocked.
Also it's rumored that root may not work on the G3 after the official lollipop update.

Thanks for the advice.
Yeah im planning to root now.. problem is.. I dont think other ROMs would work for the D858 variant. (Dual Sim)
Is it possible to get OTA while being rooted?

I think CloudyG3 1.2 -=- [All Variants] might work for you as a custom rom, He hasn't released lollipop version yet, It's still on 4.4.2 for now.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/development/rom-cloudyg3-1-0-t2917467
But when he does release the lollipop version it will be rooted!! and you will still have your bootloader unlocked!!
This is the rom I'm waiting for on my D852 since I'm pretty much in the same boat as you when it comes to not much development for my model.
You will lose root or bootloop if you OTA while rooted.
I've seen a lot of people get their G3's stuck in a bootloop from accepting a OTA while bootloader is unlocked too.
Personally I would just avoid any OTA's for now and stick with stock 4.4.2 or a custom rom, I'm itching to try lollipop too, sooo bad. but it's not worth being locked down!!

Yeah, it's because you have the 11c software instead of the stock 10b. You need to flash the original firmware. Google xda g3 stock 10b and you'll find out how to do it.

just look for your specific stock firmware. There are threads on xda showing you which roots work on which versions.

I've already contacted the dev, hopefully he can help me out.

Dont even bother with that. Find your stock firmware and put your phone into download mode and use LG Flash Tool to flash to stock. Try googling what I just described, and you will be able to root to your pleasure.

AndroidNow and ChupaChups aren't stock really. They're very close to stock ROM though.
If you want the original stock ROM delivered by LG, you can fin, here on Xda dev forums, people that uploaded Stock V20D ROM kdz file.
Using LG Flash Tool 2014, you'll be able to flash the stock ROM with your computer. No need to root, to have recovery or anything.
If you want your phone to be rooted, then try to install TWRP Recovery and flash AndroidNow Or ChupaChups ROMs

I just got my G3, was on 4.4.2 and now 5.0.
I rooted with Purple Drake and then I followed this post:

Sent from my LG-D855 using XDA Free mobile app
To be honest i reckon you should put CM on your device, it runs so well with LG G3, fast and great batterly life, the Stock LG rom is so bad....

hi everybody,i just bought a z1 compact and allow me some questions cause i m a little confused
1what is the best way to root it and stay with unlock bootloader?
2how can i install custom recovery?
thanks in advance.
Well first of on what firmware are you on? From what I know only v108 KK can be rooted without unlocking bootloader. As for custom recovery look for Nut's recovery for z1c here http://nut.xperia-files.com/

It will probably be on KitKat version. You can follow the guide from here to root KitKat and maintain root on Lollipop.
or use pc companion and update os. After root and install recovery new releases.

As there is no TW Lollipop update for Note 2 you are in fact still on KitKat or below.
Only the bootloader is relevant in that case and you may flash any firmware which isn't below your current bootloader.
Flashing a custom rom isn't an upgrade for your device in depth.

Sure it's ok, just check your bootloader and I can point at the firmware suitable for your device.
