Well, Orbot let me choose that default option to use it for all apps, and that's how I tested it.
Just so were on the same page. With root does it let you mask other apps? check chrome or Firefox.

No problem. That was Firefox the screenshot was in. I purposely used Orbot's option to check in browser to make 100% sure that the browser was using it. I'll upload a screenshot of it in Chrome.
I did check the option in it's settings for "Use Bridges", because both Firefox and Chrome wouldn't resolve the test address without it, but it's possible I wasn't patient enough.

I think the battery life is the best I've had on any Android phone. However, I don't use Bluetooth or 4G a lot. I do use both some, but I'm pretty conservative in my usage and keep all toggles off when I'm not using it.
I additionally took the free LG G Pad 8.3 tablet offer when my wife and I got our G3s, and so except for the phone-specific test I just made I use the tablet for Tapatalk, GPS and playing music, on purpose so we wouldn't have to put as much wear and tear on our phone batteries like we did with our old phones.
I use the Jasmine ROM v4.0, which is a modular debloated stock. I use the main package and then I picked and chose between the "LG" and I think "Other" packages in order to get the LG Calculator, LG Calendar, and install what's necessary for the QRemote to work. I'm trying to remember if there was anything I took from the "Verizon" package as well, but I don't recall for sure if I did - I'd have to look again.
Good luck with your search and hope you find the ideal upgrade. I was so happy to find such a powerful phone at such a cheap price ($30) and the other day it was free - don't know if it still is. Too bad we didn't wait one more week.

The camera is also the absolute best and fastest, even in low light, among all the cameras on smart phones I've used. The laser focus really helps speed it up.

Clear the data for swype, you lose the dictionary but it will work after that.

Updated last night just before bedtime and i'm having a few issues
How are you doing that?
I cleared the dictionary from the Settings --> Language and Input --> Swype settings.
That didn't resolve it. I'm noticing that many of the settings in this category are entirely unresponsive as well.
If I go into Swype from Settings--> Applications, the Clear Data button is greyed out.
Force Stop doesn't enable the button, Disable doesn't enable the button.
It also just continuously shows "calculating" for the space stats.

I'm ALSO noticing that this morning, I used my phone for 20 minutes to send some texts and try to get swype working, and used 6% of my battery!
Looking at the Battery chart, I see my "mobile network signal" is staccato, interrupted black and green, green only 50-60% of the time. Not sure if this is contributing.
And I've lost 4% more as I've been typing this on my PC - phone not even on. Total time since unplugged about 45 minutes now.
Any help on the above?

Just as an FYI - the latest Swype beta worked out of the box after doing the manual update to FF18 official.
i'm looking forward to this phone being released in USA.. but I have a question: does the split screen multi-task work with 3rd party launchers such as nova? or is it only a samsung default launcher thing?

To be honest i havent used that yet on my Note 2, but with the Note 10.1 its only possible with certain Samsung and Android apps, cannot multitask with Any app out there.

It works absolutely fine with Nova. Either take out the SPen or long-press the back button and the 'tab' appears on the left hand side. It's use in Nova is identical to its use in Touchwiz. I can only assume other launchers are the same, but I only use Nova.

I just bought a unit in thailand but it looks like it came from an arabic country. The long press back button does nothing and my multi is missing.
My model is N7100XXALIH
Basicly I can't use the phone's flash, I just can't toggle it. Moreover, in Google Camera I can use it and in all of the torchlight apps.

I was gonna mention. when you turn HDR on flash greys out.
Glad you got it.
You can keep HDR on auto mode though, flash still works then.

I run xcam on mine now i noticed night shot panorama @ND time shot all have flash greyed out so make sure your on a mode that supports flash such as sports or normal
Similar Problem, but no HDR
Hey guys, I'm sorry to necro this thread but I'm having the same problem with one little difference- I know for a fact that HDR mode is not on. In fact, I have it on Manual mode. You said to just change to a mode that would support Flash and I assume Manual mode would, I also tried Auto mode and it was still greyed out.
I was wondering- Could it be because my phone's battery is so low? I just got this phone so I've been letting the battery drain so I could properly, fully charge it and it's come all the way down to 1% now. For the record, I did suspect that that could be the problem, but I was looking for validation. Also, I used Flash to take a picture of my mom just a few hours ago so I know it works.

I've been reading a lot about Package Disabler Pro. Have you used it for a while? I typically go into Application Manager and disable any unncesesary app. Is Package Disabler Pro better?

For what it's worth, on my device it's there but it's not running in the background. If it isn't running, then it isn't doing anything

Package Disabler Pro 6.3 ... And yes, its a great application.. well worth it
My Note 5 had the demo installed on it also. However, just because it shows up in the app list, in PDP, doesn't mean it's running in the background.
What are some safe apps to disable that have not had any lingering side affects after they were disabled that have helped with better battery life and overall speed? Thank you!
I'd like to start a bounty for Miracast support on Nougat. I don't think its a hardware issue. The build.prop edit no longer works, tho it gets close.
I was able to see my Miracast, it even said connected, but on the TV "Opps something went wrong" and it disconnects.
There are some logs on Reddit, I'll look for the post to link.

So you didn't need an extra app to do it? You just added "persist.debug.wfd.enable=1" to the build.prop and deleted a "#" from the already existing "sdm.debug.downscale_external=1"?

Just FYI, this did NOT work for me on Nexus 6P, but this does seem to get "closer" aka, there is no message "Opps something went wrong", it just connects, then disconnects again.

Perhaps it works on Google Pixel XL? I returned my Pixel due to no Miracast, got a Nexus 6P and was on MM, but the camera stopped working, and the only fix was to go to Nougat lol, now Im back to Chromecast + Nougat, but I downgraded my phone.... Missing Pixel, been sold out for 4 months lol, like Ok google, way to advertise your great new phone and have none to sell! (I need 128Gb)
I'd chip in $20 for a bounty on this as well. I don't want to use an external app- as I use ARUR with my Nexus 6p and want the seamless integration.
