Hello, here you are
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2586808
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2588449

Thanks bosas200 now i will try this kernel ^_^

bosas200 i had installed first the next kernel and after lonelyX but when the phone bootup the phone (for both kernels) the data doesn't work and if i check in settings the baseband is unkown why ???? now i had restored the bakcup who i maked of the stock sense ...

Always make a backup before flashing! You need to flash it with recovery and extract boot.img and flash it through bootloader

boasas200 sorry for everything but i'm really really a noob for htc modding now i'm looking who i had only unlocked the bootloader but i'm arleady s-on so if i flash a kernel or rom i need to flash on the cmd the .img file???? so what is the command to flash the kernel on the fastboot ????? thanks a lot and sorry for disturb

Search in hox android development thread for thunders htc one x toolkit v2.3 and everything will be easier for you. I use it so i dont need to type those commands

the last one thing when i restore a nandroid backup the kernel comes back to stock ???? thanks for all bosas200

No you need to flash boot.img from rom you are restoring again. No problem i hope i helped you

sorry if i make a lot of question but i don't want to make some of wrong with my htc so now i have the htc one x original rom on now i make a backup of this than i install the kernel on the custom recovery and than flash the kernel with toolkit or cmd but if tomorrow i want to return to stock kernel what i need to do ? only restore the nandroid ???? or i need to make a backup of the current kernel.img ? if the answer at this question is yes what can i do this ????

When you restore nandroid backup you need to flash backuped boot.img. if i restore backup from cm12 to ARHD so i flash arhd boot.img after restore

But in what method can I make a backup of original boot.img????
It is already in the backup folder ???

Its made by recovery and its in recovery folder but you need to flash it manualy through adb. I personaly just extract boot.img from rom zip file and flash it with toolkit

thanks for all bosas200 you like more the lonelyx kernel or the next kernel ???

[Q] Update to 3.14.161.27 (4.1.1)

Hi there,
i dont know what to do...
I have a german htc one x from Vodafone.
I tried TWRP and CWM Recovery to install the new Update to 3.14.161.27 but i always get "Error 7" and the installation aborts.
System info:
Adroid: 4.0.4
Software: 2.17.161.4
CID: VODAP102
HBOOT: 1.12.0000
Recovery: TWRP 5.8.4.0
Can you help me and tell me how to fix my Problem.
King regards
Peter
What do you mean, are you on stock rom and tried to do the official update with the custom recovery ?
If you have 100% stock rom, stock boot.img and stock recovery you can update
http://db.tt/U5CK4noo
Flash this one and try again. Keep the bootloader unlocked .... Its no problem
I tried your Recovery but it didnt worked..
I have stock rom, stock recovery (now) and i think i have stock boot.img.
if my boot.img is the prob how can i change it?
i used the Hasoon200 tool to root my phone nothing else was done
very big thanks for your help
If you are really sure you have the nandroid backup of your original stock rom the stock boot.img should be inside that nandroid backup folder !
If you made any changes to the stock rom like deleting system apps or any other bloatware then the update will also fail

You have to flash the boot.img from fastboot
simply put the boot.img in the fastboot folder and run the following commands
Code:
fastboot boot boot.img

this happens if a not advised person is trying to root hios phone
That's probably the problem, the other problem is that i didn't see the matching ruu on HTCruu.com and i also didn't see the nandroid backup you need in the nandroid backup collection thread.
You have an option to upgrade to jellybean ! Flash the firmware the unofficial way , your cid is supported and after flashing the firmware you have the updated hboot to flash JB roms
I give you the link in a minute
---------- Post added at 11:09 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:06 PM ----------
Here you can download the firmware matching your cid
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1957376
I have to check for a detailed guide, I never done this myself so I don't know to much about it
But after that you are stuck to a custom rom......
ok very big thanks, i will think about it and i will see what i do tomorrow...
but very very big thanks for the fast help... i remeber for me : "never delete system apps you idiot"
Yeah well .... To late now
Here i have the firmware flasher , you have to download the firmware in the first link i gave you and this link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1924003
Has the tool where you have to put the firmware in.
Don't ask me how this works exactly, never done this myself but read the OP of the threads really carefully !
Wohoo its working
I have found my system backup recovered it and the update works
big thanks for your help,... I would never have come to a missing system app
and sry for my bad english
Thx
Peter
Very good !!!

I wanna move to stock ROM so I can update to JB (currently using official CM10)

First thing I did when I got my phone is to unlock it and install TWRP custom recovery.I then saved the stock ROM using twrp backup.
if I restore my phone using my backup, would I be able to use OTA to upgrade it to jellybean? thanks!
You'll need the stock recovery as well.

Optus Australia
Hi,
My question is similar to the above....
I have an Optus Australia One X with a CID of 'OPTUS001'. I'm currently on the ViperX ICS rom and was going to restore my nandroid backup which is the stock rom. From there, hopefully, OTA to JB and then re-flash new ViperX JB rom.
But now I read that I need the stock recovery as well? Where would I get that from? And how do I install the stock recovery?
Any help with the steps involved would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
*EDIT*
After some more research, I think I've found the answer. But could someone please confirm the steps:
1. Restore nandroid backup
2. Re-flash stock recovery img (I found a link to download it!)
3. Perform OTA update to JB
4. Re-flash clockwork mod recovery
5. Flash new ViperX JB rom
Does that sound right?
The 2.17 stock recovery
http://db.tt/U5CK4noo
For the both of you
And yes that's right frosty
Don't forget to flash the boot.img also from the nandroid backup

Thanks for the quick reply Mr. Hofs!
With the boot.img flash from the backup, is that done before or after the restore option in CWM?
Boot.img first than a full wipe in recovery and restore the nandroid. Boot into the nandroid to check that it works and flash back the stock recovery after and then start updating officially

as you have mention above the link of root.zip, its of HTC One XL(non-tegra device)
if you have htc one xl then you are in wrong place..
He has the quad-core. The XL variant has no 1.73 hboot and 4.19.720 software number. So he is in the right place
Easiest way now is to restore the nandroid backup you probably didn't make before messing around with the superuser.zip !

The 3.14 ain't gonna help you as the touchscreen won't work ! You need a nand that matches your main.
If you can't find one then i suggest you install a clean new custom rom of your choice !
then cyangenmod?

You need to flash the boot.img via fastboot, make a full wipe in the recovery and install the CM.zip and the appropriate GAPPS......
thanks for your precious time

Well you need a stock nandroid backup that has the same main version number 4.19.720 and restore it. As long as you don't have that you can't go back to stock. But there are custom roms based on pure stock looks. You can install that too.

You can't install anything like that via fastboot if phone is locked...you need to be unlocked and for the latest cm roms like cm 11 that recovery is too old... He can unlock too, flash a recovery make a nandroid backup without flashing another Rom and there is your backup

i have flashed the android revolution hd rom. this rom is the perfect one, just the same as htc stock rom.you guys were really helpful.i would like to know many things about kernel and kernel flasher. what kernels actually does? i tried search the forum but couldn't find a simple post about it.
i like using android, and i wanna know most of it if i can.......thanks
Simple explanation, the kernel and hboot function sort of as a bios of a pc. It interacts with the software.
A kernel flasher....you don't need that if you flash the boot.img (kernel) straight from fastboot. The flasher does the same.
