[Q] Stable and good all-round ROM - Wildfire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I want to give some life to an old HTC Wildfire (not S).
Can you please advise me with a stable ROM that runs smooth mostly for chat apps/facebook/browsing ?
The wildfire atm is pure stock and I dont really care what version of android the rom will be based on.
Thanks in advance.

Best and most stable rom?

Hey people. I just bought my Desire HD today, and just finished rooting it. Now, i want the most stable, and performanced rom. I don't want to flash my radio and all that, i just want something that works best (AND DOSEN'T CRASH)
Thanks in advance
Wow... Bought and rooted immediately...
I think the 2 stable one are Cyanogenmod and LeeDroid.
For sense Leedroid is the go. The other sense roms are perfectly stable and usable but Leedroid has a slight edge.
If you want AOSP then Cyanogenmod 6.1.3 is the only choice.

MIUI isnt that fast these days..
Try SGBS rom (v1.7) have sense and is very fast and stable.

Better wait for the official 2.3. I am using Cyanogenmod 7.0.3 Stable, but there is issue with call delay and mobile data connection problem. Now I am waiting for 2.3 official
I am running Insertcoin from around last 2 months and frankly speaking i never had any issues with the ROM. U can give it a try. U can get the rom from my signature.
Note: I never use HD recording or Playback on mobile, so i have never tested these functionality.
Yes, InsertCoin stable 1.0.8 seems to be bug free.
I used it also since about 2 months.
RCMix S v. 2.0.1 snm.
Try http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1113070&highlight=Recent+Apps easy to install.
For me AcesMod007 v24
Tried all roms but this one stands to be most stable and fast...
Leedroid is good too but battery hog.
Insertcoin is not bad but slow compared to acemod007.

From my personal experience I can highly recommend oxygen. It's a very clean and stable rom and I get a great battery life. Before using oxygen I tried leedroid, rcmix s, miui and redux. They are all nice and fast, but I really like the cleanness of oxygen and redux. I would have stayed with redux, but the developer did not have any time for further development for nearly two months, so I changed to oxygen. But I cannot see a big difference between redux and oxygen.
Ive tried loads, but an issue that kept recurring was depletion of internal memory. Therefore for the desire in my opinion the best roms are ones that allow data2ext or data2we which tricks your phone into thinking it has the internal memory limit you choose. I like gingerburst, a sense Rom since the whole thing is easy to set up and is stable. Just Google it and follow the instructions on the site
Cyanogen 7.0.3 works with the data2we. zip. If you don't like HTC sense, and is my close second Fave Rom
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Rcmix 2.0, the cm7 variant
I'm running Leedroid 3.0.8.2 a2sd+ and loving it. No bugs found yet...

And it's cool? You have in your gio?
Or you now anyone how use it?
Yes mate they are good.
[DEV][ROM] CyanogenMod 10.1 [10.03.2013] , based on 4.2.2 , made by OldDroid
[ROM][JB][ANDROID 4.2.2]Androidarmv6 CM-10.1 24-02-2013 , same here , made by Erickas
[DEV] AOSP IceCreamSandwich 4.0.4 | MoltenMotherBoard (08.MAR.2013 - RC4) , this is Android Open Source Project (AOSP) Ice Cream Sandwich (Android version 4.0.4) , made by MoltenMotherBoard Team , wich consists of Mackief , Paco and ItachiSama
[DEV] AOSP ICS 4.0.4 by MaclawStudio , same as above , made by Maclaw and Marcin
They are all great roms , you should try them all before deciding. Like it was said above , official firmware upgrade for anything above 2.3.6 from Samsung doesn`t exist , you have to resort to roms if you want that.
Sorry if i missed some developer , it wasn`t intentional.
Well, Im using aokp 4.2.2 right now and it is really great. Smooth and fast. Everything works, only small issues

Yes you can try both AOSP ICS roms , really they are very good without any need for overclocking or tweaking , in my opinion. They keep about 170Mb RAM free.

[Q] Rom optimised GPS

I just got a new phone and i'm going to use my old Desire for gps tracking/photography/Video. So i'm looking for a rom that is 100% stable, has good battery life, camera/video works and has no gps problems.
Before this i have been using the cm 10.0 and 10.1 of VJ which doesn't suit my requirements for now.
I have been thinking about downgrading to the original rom gingerbread 2.3. But it looks like that this one isn't availible anymore on the htc development center.
Does anyone has an suggestion which ROM i should use?

[Q] Sense vs Original ROMS, stability

Hello, I'm currently on a Sense ROM (Revolution HD 15), I didn't had any problems so far but I want to upgrade to a newer ROM version.
How an original ROM is comparing to a Sense ROM in terms of stability? I'm using NOVA Launcher so I didn't really care about Sense UI.
what do you mean with original rom...do you mean pure android like CM or AOSP rom? there is also already revolution hd 20.1 out...try it out it's really fine

I mean AOSP, there are some nice apps that work only on 4.2
I don't really have much time to try ROMs that's why I asked. :good:

which apps do you mean work only with 4.2.2? and no one can say which is the best because you have to see it yourself because not for everyone kernel and rom are working the same...therefore if you have time try it

In my own experience, Sense ROMs have better battery life. Lots of Mods are available and we have great roms over there which are fast, stable and bug free.
But AOSP Roms come with lots of goodies. Especially PA Roms with lots of customization (Nice UI manipulations there). You will be able to feel the essence of Android. 4.2.2 is super fast and super smooth.
You may check it for your self, it's really hard to say in words! Everyone should try it once. Trust me!

I wanted to try DashClock Widget
I think I'll try latest version of Android Revolution.
From what I read I need to upgrade HBOOT. Can someone point me to a simple to follow step-by-step? (also I only have Windows 8 installed)
I don't know if it's me or installing a new ROM is so much harder than on Galaxy S.
Also I did a nandroid backup and I wanted to copy the back-up on my PC. I connected the phone via USB, and the clockworkmod folder was empty, I had to uploaded on Dropbox from my phone to be able to save it on PC.
