[Q] Galaxy Ace II bricked - Galaxy Ace II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was trying to upgrade a Samsung Galaxy Ace II, GT-I8160, from GB (2.3.6, build XXLK6) to CM11: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2555021
After a succesful install, (TWRP install, factory reset/wipe, and CM11 install via TWRP), I found out that some functions weren't working correctly. For example, the airplane mode could not be turned off, and error messages like "com.android.phone has stopped working" were shown. Then I read that the stock Samsung ROM should be installed first, before flashing CM11. So, I downloaded the following ROM, and installed it via Odin v1.83: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/30306/I8160XXNB1_I8160XENNE3_XEN.zip/
After installing this ROM, the phone started a boot loop. The Samsung logo appears (+ model name and number), and nothing happens. When the device is switched off (with the power button) the device boots automatically, and it hangs again. Flashing the ROM again via Odin didn't work, and flashing the originial ROM (XXLK6, region XEN) didn't work either.
Does anyone know what I'm supposed to do? I'm kind of stuck right now. Thanks in advance.

Problem has been solved using this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-ace/ace-2-help/service-flashing-carbon-rom-imie-tact-t2953286

Trouble installing ClockworkMod Recovery on Samsung Galaxy Sand now

Hi,
I was trying to install the CM7 and just following the instructions given on the Cyanogen website for the Samsung Galaxy S.
I had Froyo on my Samsung Galaxy and this guide says that one should have Gingerbird to install it, I am new to all this, so accidentally installed the ClockworkMod Recovery using the Heimdall. After installation, the starting logo screen of my mobile was blinking.
Then I realized and and download the ClockworkMod version (CF-Root-XW_NEE_JS8-v1.3-BusyBox-1.17.1) from xda-developers. After installing it with Heimdall, not my phone is hanged at the start logo screen.
I don't know what to do now, have tried installing ClockWorkMod again and again and have also tried to install it with Odin3, but unfortunately nothing seems working for me.
Please help me.

[Solved] Help - Infinite boot loop on N7100

Hi! I will try my best to make this short.
Used the Cyanogenmod installer to install it on my galaxy note 2. Worked well, but I quickly realized I missed all the samsung apps and the features of my s-pen. So... I ended up using a tool on samsing Kies that should have recovered my phone back to normal state.. BAD IDEA.
Right now my phone is in an infinite loop and the only thing I can do is to click volume down+power+home to enter ODIN MODE. Cant do much there, but tried to flash Clockworkmod recovery in order to flash back an usable ROM. Seemed to be succesful, but it still enters ODIN MODE on my phone.
(I am not very advanced user of such tools, but followed some guides and thought I did right)
So.. right now I am stuck with a phone that can do nothing.
Please help me!

EDIT1:
I have managed to open up CWM recovery, but it fails to install cyanogenmod again. (Yes, I have no choice... I forgot to backup stock)
EDIT2:
Suddenly it works, and I have stock ROM. Strange...

Good thing you managed to recover.
Anyways, Kies can't bring you back to Stock if you are on CM. You can either do it by flashing .tar files in Odin or by flashing a Stock-based custom rom like ARHD, WanamLite, etc.

[Q] Help unbricking galaxy 3 sgh i747

I have bricked my samsung galaxy s3 sgh i747, and i would appreciate the experts help in fixing it. so here is the history of what has happened over the last week
running 4.3,
installed clockworkmod recovery
rooted phone via cf auto root
made full nandroid back up
downloaded and installed CM 11 nightlies
here is where things started to go wrong...
Cm 11 installed and lauched, but with many erros: system uid inconsistent, wi fi would not turn on, bluetooth not turn on, and many apps stopped working.
perfomed nandroid restore, restored and lauched. I kept getting an error message, which was something along the lines of: com.google.gapps has stopped working. everytime i hit ok, it would come back, which would not allow me to use the phone at all.
decided to an emergency firmware recovery through kiess.. recovery failed...
tried downloading firmware from sammobile. flash with odin...fails
i was able to flash clockworkmods recovery again. now when it boots it gets stuck in the att logo...
Im stuck and need advice as to what i can do.
thanks in advance for any help

Firmware upgrade encountered as issue

I recently brought a tmobile unlocked, Samsung galaxy s3, T999.
I tried to upgrade firmware with samsung keis, but it stucked at 0.
Then I tried, Emergency Firmware Recovery, it also got stuck.
I rooted it and applied a custom rom, CyanogenWIZ(Found on xda top review rom)
Then i wasnt able to turn on wifi, SIM not detected, etc.
Then I wiped all data, reset the phone.
It didnt goto the home screen, stuck at loading(with that google 4 colord dots).
I could ONLY access, Recovery Mode and Download mode properly.
THEN
Finally was able to reinstall the stock rom,
http://galaxys3root.com/galaxy-s3-stock-firmware
T-Mobile Galaxy S3 Stock Firmware MD5
T999UVALEM_T999TMBALEM_T999UVALEM_HOME.tar
After that, It loaded all those "Android 4G tMobile logo, Samsung Galaxy S3, that green animation"
But it didnt go further than SAMSUNG logo with blue animation thing.
I installed the,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2308514
*****ODIN Firmware*****
First, Recovery, then Stock Kernel.
Now, IT says,
"Firmware upgrade encountered as issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again."
When I press the turn ON button.
Cant access recovery mode. But download mode can be accessed.

Do you have the T999 or the T999L model? Check before making any other procedures since it seems you've done many without knowing exactly what you were doing.
Also, stop making multiple threads about the same issue. Apparently, you made 4 threads discussing about the same issue.

Bricked Galaxy Tab3 7.0 SM-T210, can't enter download or recovery modes

I have a Galaxy Tab3 7.0 SM-T210 that we've owned for a long time, but I now want to use it for more things and find it a little clunky and slow compared to our more up to date smart phones. So i wanted to flash with a newer version of Android, but the tablet now appears to be bricked showing the "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again" screen and it won't do anything else. It won't enter download mode or recovery mode.
I came across these instructions to take me from a stock tab, and upgrade to Android 9.0 theupgradeguide.com/2019/09/17/install-android-9-0-pie-on-samsung-galaxy-tab-3-7-0-lineageos-16-how-to-guide
I loaded TWRP successfully using Odin and was able to set up a Nandroid backup. I then moved on to part 5 to perform a factory reset of the device, which was successful. This is where it started to go wrong though! I chose the reboot option after the wipe, rather than as per the instructions going back to the TWRP main menu. The tab rebooted and would't get past the Samsung logo. It went back in to download mode when I tried, and then tried to flash with a stock version of KitKat Android. Odin recognised the tab connected, it accepted the .tar flash file, and the tab showed the progress bar showing the download happening. Then Odin failed after a few minutes, and then the firmware upgrade failure error message appeared.
After lots of internet searching I've tried the following:
1. Putting it in download mode, doesn't work!
2. Putting it in recovery mode, doesn't work!
3. Connecting it to Kies, device not recognised and latest version of Kies doesn't have the option to manually select your device to reload the firmware!
4. Tried using ADB, device isn't recognised!
So i'm at a loss what to do to fix it, can anyone help?!
I was just trying to do the same yesterday. It all went fine with backing up and wiping, but TWRP didnt accept the image I downloaded.
It is so sad to have a capable hardware limited due lack of manufacturer care (not even saying updates, because they updated the android version at the time, but lack of optimization and how my tablet became sluggish, gave me disgust of any samsung branded device).
Can't you get to TWRP screen anymore?
If you can get to Odin download mode, trying reflashing Odin (perhaps a different version).
