I'm using Finger Scanner as a lock screen security method. I hate the way it puts "AT&T" and "Enter backup password" right in the middle of the screen. Is there any way to either remove it or move it towards the bottom? I'm sure there's a way to do this once we can root but any way to do so without rooting?

You can't! Does your company run Google Apps? If so the admin for your domain can log in and remove the requirement for you otherwise you can't take it off.
Cant? of course I can I just need to know how.. The phone is rooted I dont imagine there is anything that "cant" be done
You have to override the "phone administrators" function to make that happen, I do not know of any ROM's that have that functionality though.

Ha ha that doesn't matter at all. This is a policy sent down by your company. If you figure out a way I will be amazed.
Is this when you add an exchange account?
If so are you on 4.0.3?

im on 4.0.3. Its lotus notes traveler but the apps works on android 2.0 and greater
There used to be an app to do this on Froyo, but I haven't seen anything like it since. I also would love to see this. I'm on 4.0.3 using exchange mail for company mail, security policy enforced with PIN of course - would much rather use slide to unlock or face unlock.
FYI as a workaround you can use Touchdown which enforces the PIN unlock when opening the app rather than unlocking the phone.

Manhattan IC111, you? Can you share the modified apk? This is the standard email you're referring to? Sounds great.

You could always just use the PIN and protect your work's potentially valuable IP. They're not just putting a PIN on your phone for fun...

I really hope none of my information is being used by your company. It really is people like you that give the large companies you work for such a bad rap about privacy concerns.

I did not make the email.apk, but know how to do it, now that I finally know how to decompile it.
but take a look at this thread might find what you need, to be honest too much controversy in this one:

Why do you presume I deal with sensitive data?
This may have been asked before, but haven't found any threads on this.
In Gingerbread, when you chose the password unlock option, you got the slide-to-unlock with unlock and silent sliders, and then when you slid the unlock one, you were presented with the password screen. In ICS, you just get the password screen. Is it possible to have both the ring unlock on ICS which leads to the password screen?
Thanks!
newest version of gummy has this feature. Can't say off top of my head where he got it or if he just coded it himself. Might check there first though.

Why the Hell!!! would you want to slide and put in a password every time you use your phone? Coming from an iphone 4 that was the feature I hated the most in GB.
Am I missing something? Please Help me understand why you actually Want That?

Check out the gummy thread, there is a video that may help you understand. Basically, it allows you quick access to the camera and two other shortcuts while maintaining a security option.
I installed unlock with WiFi and it does the slide to unlock and the PIN. So when you are on a home WiFi network you just get the slide to unlock.

Ohhh, I see said the blind man. That actually makes more sense than wanting to go through both (slide and pin/pattern) 20+ times a day. That's what I didn't get.

I really like reading ebooks on my phone but when I'm scrolling down it keeps going back or forward a page. it drives me nuts. I already have motion turned off and it doesn't seem to be the app (ezpdf)..
Any way to disable this annoying "feature"?
Thanks

if you can not answer the question, does that not put you into the same Cat.........
as far as the page layout thing I don't have a PDF file big enough to flip pages and see if I get the same issues.

Can't argue with that logic, I guess.
Still...
why dont they make a apk or zip with the security feature when someone trys to unlock the ur phone with wrong passcode it takes a picture, if the technology is available why not use it. Some people want to be sure that no one touches there phone, just the way i feel thanks, and im going to keep posting my thoughts maybe someone will notice.
Cerberus App, Lookout, and other security apps have the feature you are looking for.

Uh? Dude you understand that we have an *UNLOCKED* bootloader? If you lost your phone it is pretty much toast. Now you wish we had a locked bootloader with KNOX..

re-lock the bootloader.
I remember there was once a dev bounty up for this somewhere on XDA.. sure sucks that its there but I don't think theres a way to remove it
There was a way on the old Moto X 2014 but I'm not aware of one on the Pixel 2.

Aren't you a smart cookie
More importantly can someone make an app that hooks up to the internet so we can calculate the total man hours in the millions lost on these screens that should at most flash by. lol.
But for real, which file do you think i need to hack at to remove this trollishly long screen? Im assuming the boot.img, or atleast who do I sue after my doctor says it gave me cancer? (/notroll)
Just, dont reboot phone too often, LoL,
So that we'll never see that stupid useless annoying screen.
If I remember hearing correctly, this is part of the bootloader partition and cannot be modified. At least that's how it was with my Nexus 6P.

No tattoo?
Plus removing it will most likely brick the Pix XL 2!
I know it's not a solution, but it looks like if you press the power button to pause and then again to resume booting, after pressing to resume it boots immediately.
So I guess double press the power button to skip the screen?
Just don't look at your phone while it's booting. Easy

I can almost guarantee that no dev will spend the kind of time needed to figure out a workaround to remove this warning and save 5 seconds on boot process...
