I've reflashed my rom and my phone is now working But how will i install the previous zip file without getting the same problem. Should i do a wipe b4 flashing??
That .zip (honeycomb music.apk) is mainly for GB ROMs. I think a pre-rooted froyo does not have the libs, maybe that's causing the problem.
Hi,
I've tried to install different roms to my unlock HTC wildfire S without any luck.
It gets stuck at HTC logo screen!
Its a Marvel PVT with S-ON
HBOOT-1.09.0099
Radio - 7.57.3910M
Installed cwm recovery and rooted but cann't install roms.
I've tried several without any luck!
Is there something that i'm missing?

Tried it several times with speedDroid rom.
I'm started thinking that the problem is with the rom..
Any other suggestions?

Try to open zip in pc by 7zip and just test it.. see any file is broken during download or not...
Then extract whole zip than rezip than install it.. may work

Tried it so many times...
Also find out that there is no way to install a working recovery but only CWM-based Recovery v5.0.2.6 through a recovery script..
So i've unziped the script..
The only difference is that before flash it uses :
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Yry tecovery 5. 0. 2. 8

I think the problem is with the htcdev unlock..so i'm looking for an alternative unlock method to test!
make sure you at getting the one for marvel and not marvelc if your phone has a sim card. may be the issue may not but worth checking. or if your phone doesn't have a sim card you need marvelc.

After a long day i've managed to install CWM recovery v5.0.2.8
After that rooted the phone using root.zip from xda.cn script and cwm!
Installed rom manager from market
And finally followed the guide
Black screen recovery guide
I've managed to install the rom at the guide and working properly!!!
BUT i still get black screen on recovery as usual!
The next step is to try install speedDroid!!!
glad you got something working.

You are talking about a Desire, this is for Desire HD and not the Bravo model. Have you checked that?

And your bootloader is unlocked? Also, you're flashing the ROM zip from recovery first, then flashing the boot.img from fastboot, right?
Yeah bootloader is unlocked, and I might have done it the other way round I'll try that.

In that case I would suggest that you flash a RUU and see if that works. You will need to relock the bootloader for that.
Well going to give it another shot before I do your suggestion on the RUU, I'll let you no how it goes

When switching ROMs it is pretty much always necessary to clear the /data partition before booting the new ROM. I didn't see you mention that you'd done this anywhere (sorry if I missed it).

hello friends,
I'm a newbie.I'am facing some issues with my htc one x. Which is firstly I was Flashing a rom in my phone, where i could flash boot.img successfully butlater when i was installing d rom from recovery it said installation aborted .When i rebooted the phone it freezes at the HTC bootscreen .Then I tried another rom but the same problem continued. Now when i want to go back to stock, i restored my backup but my phone is stuck over HTC bootscreen,I even flashed the stock boot.img. Now, I have no idea how do i proceed ahead:crying:
Please help me to get out of this.
Regards

Recovery is CWM and i was running d stock rom yet.I tired flashing Probam and sentinel roms.
Oke flash this recovery
https://www.dropbox.com/s/xvcapmh8tsw5o3b/twrp-endeavoru.img
And try again. Is your hboot high enough ? What's the number, you can check that in the bootloader.
Sent from my HTC One X using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Hboot is 1.73. And should i Change my recovery with urs link given above?
Well the one above flashes sense 5/aosp roms and kitkat roms. So you don't have to switch recoveries everytime !

Okay! Then what should i do nest sir? and another problem which i forgot to mention is recovery isnt mounting the sd card
Then use this recovery to mount
https://www.dropbox.com/s/yqzlpqo8illa53j/Philz recovery 5.15.9.img
And you can use this recovery for every rom except kitkat roms !
Sent from my HTC One X using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
is there no way, which can give me my phone in working condition immaterial wheather will it be rooted or not later. Because i want to get out of this as soon as possible as my phone is stuck at boot screen since hours
Yeah flash philz 5.15 from my link, flash the boot.img from a sense 5 rom, make a full wipe and install the rom !
And if it bootloops you boot it into the recovery and let the battery charge in there, otherwise you will have another problem very soon !
Sent from my HTC One X using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Okay:fingers-crossed:! So the procedure of flashing the recovery remains the same inspite having a recovery present in the system ?
Yes rename the file to recovery.img
Then flash :
Fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Fastboot erase cache
Sent from my HTC One X using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
is it necessary to install stock rom? or it is even fine with custom rom by philz recovery ?
You can use any custom rom you like, or indeed use the stock rom.
If you wish to restore your backup it's recommended to flash the boot.img and the recovery.img from the nandroid backup folder, make a full wipe and restore the backup

what do you mean exactly ? on the running software ? inside recovery ?
No.....I had kept my phones power down and left it over to charge but after a long time i noticed that charging sign which was not present before, but anyways it didnt boot ahead
I m flashing the recovery now as the phone is quite charged.
It shows assert failed : getprop and lot many things and finally gives installation aborted . Did it from philz Recovery.
What rom again ? Philz 5.15 only supports NON kitkat roms ! Any sense 5 rom should be flashed fine with that recovery. Otherwise take the TWRP i linked before !

It is inst mounting the sd card. Should i restore the backup by flashing the boot.img of stock rom? And secondly it shows something like this when I perform wipe dalvik cache.
e:unknown volume for path [\sd-ex]
I just got this phone yesterday. I rooted with HTCDev and then I got S-Off with firewater and SuperCID. Ever since I installed Android Revolution 8.1 it reboots constantly. I have wiped cache, did a fresh install even tried to flash CM, but the reboots are still there. I am on 2.xxx.xxx framework and have TWRP recovery. Any help? I think it might be related to memory leaks, but I am not entirely sure.
Did you do a full wipe before install.

I always do. No matter the rom I am flashing or where I'm coming from. My OCD doesn't handle dirty flashing at all.
Have you tried to flash img file from your Rom via adb. Did you make a backup ?

Are you on Verizon ? I don't know much about HTC One M8 variants but it seems some complication there. Maybe a restore to Verizon ROM/firmware can help you.
Anyway .. here is the Verizon thread if needed : http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-htc-one-m8
You mentioned that you installed ARHD 8.1 ROM ... which firmware that you installed ? I know you are not a noob but sometimes people confuse the different of a firmware and a ROM

I'm not entirely sure. I will keep this thread updated, if I have anymore random reboots. I figured just doing a clean install would be a good start to resolve the problem; it always is.
Just had my first reboot. I think it might be due to greenify. Does anyone have experience with this app and the HTC One M8
Greenify wont cause reboots. Are you running a custom kernel and undervolting by any chance?

Try to downgrade your firmware to 1.54.x.x...or if you stick with 2.x.x.x try ARHD 9.1 to see if it makes any difference
