Hello everyone,
This is a question to get a feel for the market and to see if it's financially valid to pursue. Many of us here are lurkers and unable to build the interface cable ourself, yes there's a video showing us how to do it, but many of us are still unwilling to build it. Here's where I come in.
I am wondering how many of you guys would be interested in buying a USB interface cable for the Moto 360 to root, unlock bootloader, etc.
I would sell it for cost price + labor costs (not too greedy) + shipping, I'll even donate to the person in the video for helping me get this far..
The video tutorial below: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q3a2fdTy_6A
So the question is, would you buy it? How much are you willing to pay for it?
Thanks
i am interested.
i am interested.
i am interested.
I would buy one for 20$
I might be interested if you could explain what the benefits might be?
I'm interested as well.
you should make this a poll so you can get better numbers without having to slog through a bunch of posts, just an idea also I think we can design a better one that's a little more solid than the rather flimsy pins on the CAT5 connectors.... I'd really love to have a nice setup with pogo pins and maybe even a special watch band that you can plug in a cord to or something... It would make it better and MUCH more reliable without having to remove the watch band every time.... I have a few design ideas and really I just need parts and time and maybe a few people to bounce ideas off of
is anyone selling these? my moto 360 is stuck in force close loop
I'm in for sure
I'm lazy as ****. I'm in
Another lazy person reporting in, would love to have one.
There is a company that makes cables to flash custom Chinese rom onto the moto 360.

Hi! It's my first post here!
I was wandering if it's possible to build a custom "lapdock" station.
Basically what do i need is:
- screen hdmi capable
- keyboard
- battery
- touchpad
- eventually speakers
Since a lapdock has only this stuff inside.
Here is a scheme i tought about:

The only thing i dunno is how to make the usb hub to give power to the atrix and to the other devices! I mean it's ok for the electricity, but i dunno if it's correct for data transfert.
About the software, i think that debian could handle all this (speakers via usb, keyboard etc etc.. )
Any suggestion?
sorry for my bad english lol
Are you thinking a stationary dock? Or a mobile dock? From your schematics I am assuming a stationary dock. Either way it would be a great hackaday project.
Actually i was thinking to a mobile one
The schematics works the same, the only thing I assume would change is the dimension of the single parts!
it wont be cheaper than 200 dollars
Sure, but you can add custom parts as a more capable battery, better screen, plug-off BT keyboard etc..
I have been thinking of doing the same type of thing, but my set-up would be stationary. One thing I did think of for myself would be to have a keyboard with integrated touchpad. In the OP's case, it would be one less piece to deal with and make it much more portable.

the more portable you want to make it, the more expensive it will be. and besides, this phone isnt known to run particularly fast on webtop..
lets say you spend 400 dollars... you can pretty much buy a low end laptop that will run way better. the cost to benefit ratio just doesnt seem worth it. not only that, but in the future when new devices come out you might have to scrap this contraption. we don't even know if future devices will have this functionality yet.
The question is quite simple. Many people claim their batteries are original when they aren't. The fact that they cost 9 USD when, in Brazil, they cost over 100 BRL also make me wonder (mainly because USD BRL conversion is 1 - 1.8)
it's hard to tell if you shop online.
But if you can actually get your hands on it, there are couple things you can do.
The easiest way to identify is rip open the sticker on the battery. ( it's wrapped around the battery, so even if you rip it open, you still can wrap it back )
There should be carving like in the picture below.
{

"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
But there are a new type of identical copy right now, that has the same carving as the picture above.... if you run into those.... see if the batter wrapper ( the one u rip open ) build quality is good and good luck....
One more thing, the the original battery weights 49g, and most the fake ones weight around 45g.
If you are buying on ebay, there is really nothing you can do until you get the actual item. And to be honest, if the seller do selling original battery on ebay for a cheap discount price, he is probably loosing some money there. I would find a more reliable source if I want to buy stock stuff.
That was a very useful response, thank you. Would you happen to know any worldwide deliveres worthy of trust? And what would be a reasonable price for the original battery?
not that I know of :x i usually either just suck it up and buy a cheap one that I obviously know it's some pirated stuff, or just dish out the cash and order from samsung. At least I can sleep better that way knowing what I am getting exactly...
The problem is Sammy still does't sell anything for the Note in Brazil.
all the battery is fake in china

I was wondering if I can get something like this anywhere?:

}
It's a simple enough concept, why haven't I seem this anywhere and where would I be able to get one?
But I can't get just any attachment, I need one that fits my phone, which is a G2.
My Question: Is there an adjustable version of this? one that will fit onto an phone and can be adjusted to work with most?
I've been wondering this for over a year now.
I don't see why not. It doesn't seem like a difficult or expensive concept by any means.
Just thought of something:
what about a micro-usb camera that can be plugged into the phone and used as a front facing camera? is that even possible on android?
That's an interesting concept.
Do you have a link to this product?

No!!!
Click this link!!! OneMoreFace!!!
And then check the second link on the list!!!
It is a nice PS job!!!
You're welcome
well the idea is great. Looks possible and should be expensive but I think it will require some software which uses the back camera while video call (don't know if it already exists or not though it shouldn't be hard on an andriod). I have not seen this or anything similar for sale as of now.
This sounds like a job for a 3d printing hobbyist!
If people are interested and willing to fund development (can't be more than $30 per prototype print), I would be willing to create a 3d-printable universal version.
I already have a project that is somewhat similar (creating a universal accessory to expand the functionality of your phone) to get an idea of what I am capable of, see it here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1476571
What I would need from you guys is ideas about what kind of mirrors could be used. They would have to be readily available to nearly everybody and easily fitted into the holder. The plan is likely going to be, you can order the 3d-printed project from a 3d printing service, then either go to your local store or some sort of online store and get the mirrors separately.
that seems like a pretty good idea but then you would have to carry around a fragile mirror.
Sorry if this has been posted before.
I have been looking around at desktop docks for easy access to my phone while its on a desktop under my window next to my sofa, I have been looking at this one
I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with it or could suggest something better, I will want to charge it via the dock and possibly connect it to my PC/laptop without having to remove the phone.
That'd be awesome to have.
The only thing bad about docks like the one posted in OP, is that your phone case might be too thick, and you wouldnt be able to connect it properly. there are other non specific stands out there that can hold any phone size, and then you just plug in a micro USB cable.
personally, I use this on my desk. works perfect, and it allows me to set my tablet or whatever device im using, on the stand, and then i just plug it in.
http://www.bracketron.com/products/mobile-dock-dash-mount
might not be the prettiest thing, but it works exactly how i need it to. and you cant see the stand at all once a device it sitting on it.

I personally am using this:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008KP4ZFI/ref=oh_details_o02_s01_i00
EVERYWHERE.
you have to add a metal plate (i put mine between the battery and the cover.. it is pretty darn thin) and then have one of these at my desk at work, my nightstand and in my car. I just slap the phone on it, and grab it off. secure, doesn't slide around, but super quick to take off. for tha cabling part, yeah.. i have a cable ziptied to it to charge if i need to.
I bought this one http://smartphonepedia.com/samsung-galaxy-s3-desktop-charging-dock.html It SUCKS. Waste of $20.00 IMO
I like the Samsung one but It needs a spare battery charger for me to pay $50.00
This is the one I'd buy right now. http://www.mugen-power-batteries.com...ery-slot.html#
Nice to see some suggestions, of what, and what not to get. I saw some bad reviews of the official one so I decided to see what this wonderful community can say about this and other options, for the charging docks another thing needed would be it needs to know when the phone is charged as well (like the normal adapter) so I don't destroy the battery lol.
Keep the options coming
