The question is quite simple. Many people claim their batteries are original when they aren't. The fact that they cost 9 USD when, in Brazil, they cost over 100 BRL also make me wonder (mainly because USD BRL conversion is 1 - 1.8)
it's hard to tell if you shop online.
But if you can actually get your hands on it, there are couple things you can do.
The easiest way to identify is rip open the sticker on the battery. ( it's wrapped around the battery, so even if you rip it open, you still can wrap it back )
There should be carving like in the picture below.

}
But there are a new type of identical copy right now, that has the same carving as the picture above.... if you run into those.... see if the batter wrapper ( the one u rip open ) build quality is good and good luck....
One more thing, the the original battery weights 49g, and most the fake ones weight around 45g.
If you are buying on ebay, there is really nothing you can do until you get the actual item. And to be honest, if the seller do selling original battery on ebay for a cheap discount price, he is probably loosing some money there. I would find a more reliable source if I want to buy stock stuff.
That was a very useful response, thank you. Would you happen to know any worldwide deliveres worthy of trust? And what would be a reasonable price for the original battery?
not that I know of :x i usually either just suck it up and buy a cheap one that I obviously know it's some pirated stuff, or just dish out the cash and order from samsung. At least I can sleep better that way knowing what I am getting exactly...
The problem is Sammy still does't sell anything for the Note in Brazil.
all the battery is fake in china

in case you havent looked lately the offical OEM batteries are now under 20 bucks on ebay. ( us / can at least )

From my experience, the "Samsung" batteries with "G7" on them aren't too great. They look like these:
http://cgi.ebay.ca/OEM-SAMSUNG-STAN...Accessories&hash=item27b750ff9e#ht_1968wt_846
I have 2 of those "G7" batteries that I got through a package deal of 2 batteries and a wall charger. The G7 batteries are strictly for emergency use now...
would you care to elaborate a little more than "arent too great"?
good thing i got a G9 EB575152VA (according to pic and model #) for under $20
G7 battery model # ends with "U" instead of "A"
http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270695587944&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT
I contacted the seller and he assured me that they are G9 series, however he was unaware of that there were different series, he will probably be raising the price soon.
BUY NOW before he does!

still a very good deal right now.
It's been one of my favorite sites to visit to see the different type of accessories available for my previous iPhones, ipads, Samsung phones and tablets. And a month in and the number of different accessories they have is amazing with new battery covers and bumpers now available. Also replacement screens ... at a price..
www.tvc-mall.com
Prices are so cheap you can choose multiple accessories to try out.
I've brought 3 covers so far and they have been great. Note I also brought the 2300 mah battery but hasn't been performing as well but it could be because of 1st charge but hey its only $2.35 and performing at 90% of the original battery. I'm thinking of getting the carbon fiber back cover just to be different.
Avast says that site is a no no. Geeked out as soon as the page started to load. Pass.
It sounds sketchy, just reading the OP aha.
Thanks for the heads up!
I want OEM batteries no poo poo generic for me

My AVG didn't have any issues with it.
But then I don't use the Internet portion of AVG.
Website "says" it's Norton protected but who really knows.

their shipping cost is erm........
That's it. Prices of products are good but shipping costs?
Better have a look on http://www.dealextreme.com. Shipping costs = 0,0 EUR
My first testorder was one single USB Jig for about 1,26 EUR including postage and it arrived .
My second last order with about 8 parts took about 3 month with 4 partial deliveries to complete but in the end all parts found their way to my home . The first partial delivery was a wrong article. The correct one was resent and I could keep the wrong article for nothing. Contact was good.
The last order was shipped very fast and all parts at once but its still on its way. To germany it takes about 2 - 3 weeks.
Doesn't list the item as OEM... but claims it was via message.
Not OEM. Poor fitment. Cracked already and had imperfections.
Doesn't line up with the flash, pushes up against the speaker and camera. No bueno.
This is the follow up from a previous post that was floating around.

Cool story bro, I have been buying parts from ebay for almost 10 years & never had an issue.
Anyone that says one thing PM and another on the add is suspect and should not have been given business. Period.
Maybe the shopper should do more research 1st next time.
There is a company in China that goes by the name "OEM".
So the eBay sellers often use that MFG to sell products, pretending to be true "OEM" products.
Very confusing and eBay should put a halt to this practice.
Really needs to be a craigslist type of system where users can "flag" this or other types of auctions.

I hit my 10 year anniversary couple months back and it was never an issue for myself until recently. Way too many things from China. I've learned to just not buy anything from China anymore. The thing is... the Chinese manufacturers will have a warehouse in the US and ship it all from there. Then they claim to be state side. Bummer.

Hi everyone, I know this is not the most popular phone nor forum but I'd like to have more information as to where to get original/OEM spare parts.
My best friend was in love with this phone but the glass broke; he replaced it with a non-genuine assembly and the touchscreen quality was horrible. Now he's after an original assembly but it's very hard to find accurate information. I tried asking on Miui here but except one member mentioning Honorbuy, nothing suggested has been really helpful.
Has anyone here bought from Honorbuy, and if so, is it a reliable retailer? What is not very comforting is that the pictures of the assembly they sell are exactly the same as the one my friend bought on Aliexpress so the chances it is a genuine part are quite thin. Otherwise, is there a reliable seller or website for Xiaomi or just phones in general?
Or even better, is there a way to directly order from Tianma (the manufacturer of the assembly) or get in touch with a retailer working with them? An email has been sent to Tianma, waiting for a possible reply...
Here's what he gets from the information menu somewhere (sorry, no specifics) :

Thanks in advance
I bought a screen assembly from aliexpress.com
It wasn't perfect (a few bright spots at max brightness) but it worked fine. I just ordered another but I accidentally chose a Mi Max 2 screen :silly:
I hope it fits...
Wow I never got a notification for your reply, sorry. How did it go with your screen replacement?
Problem with Aliexpress, is that you can't really trust sellers. I've tried to contact so many of them who supposedly provide original (written in uppercase of course) screens but after a long discussion, they admitted it was at best OEM but not original, and I supposed it was just good quality copies.
My friend did some research on his side and he possibly found the way to identify a genuine assembly, as in the picture here :
What saddens me is the trend of the whole industry to prevent people from buying original spareparts. And also manufacturers not wanting to open their channels so that they can provide a repair service at a much higher cost; problem : what do I do when official repair service isn't provided in my country?
I'm not willing to rant anyway, but I'd appreciate if someone knows a reliable provider for screens in general.
