Here's the updated emulator build. It seems very similar (and the build number is only a bit higher) than the one leaked last week. As with that build, there's no options to add data sources to sync/connect with. Ugh! I'll keep working at it as it's bound to be there somewhere but we'll see.

Unlike previous builds, it seems that you need to pass a VMID to the XDE executable. As follows...
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft XDE\1.0\XDE.exe" "C:\Users\YOU\Desktop\WM70C1-6414-unlocked.bin" /VMID {E575DA31-FC47-4766-853F-018D823B9EE6}
Or you can place the file in "C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows Phone\v7.0\Emulation\Images" with the name "WM70C1.bin" and debug with visual studio and it will launch. I've only tried a super basic app but this appears to be the first one that actually works fully with debugging! This should help the devs that want to be able to test with the various task launchers with some actual data.
So here's the download!
Windows Phone 7 Dev tools Beta released
Download Here
I'll have to wait til I get home from work to download/look into it. Let us know what you find! I wonder if this is the same emulator build that found it's way out last week?
I'm installing that.
Little Tips: If you installed the April CTP, installing the beta from the April CTP's uninstaller (Open uninstaller -> click Repair/Reinstall -> when the uninstaller ask the CD, click the option for re-downloading the file from Internet). In that mode, you don't uninstall Visual Basic 2010, Visual Studio 2010 or XNA Studio. Enjoy!
(Sorry for my bad English, I'm Italian )
Now we need to wait for an unlock of the new OS Image. It is very much improved with bootup, transitions, and everything really. I cant wait to see how the apps, and hubs are looking and performing now...

Can you install the tools with my mode? I can't, the installation can't download Windows Phone Emulator x64 and it's block. HELP!!!
Eh, I created a new WP app project in Expression Blend and immediately ran it. The basic title layout already doesn't match the system layout. *sigh*
Got problems installing it via the repair routine - just getting errors that some parts of the install couldn't complete. Damned....
Yes, it's *much* safer to do a full uninstall of CTP tools, reboot, then install the Beta.

works great, thanks for sharing
And this build definitely does seem snappier. Maybe that's because they turned off all logging
Here's a couple of the default sounds pulled from the image for use on our phones if you want them...

But I've got a problem with the emulator. It's choppy like hell, it always was for me. I've got a Core 2 Duo 2,14 GHz so I don't think that should be a problem, but I see it is using just one core. Is there a trick to enable emulator using the 2nd core or get it somehow hardware accelerated?
Hi
I have a HTC Desire and gonna install CyanogenMod.
I'm following this tutorial (sorry, im not allowed to post links)"http :// wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/HTC_Desire_(GSM):_Full_Update_Guide" where i downloaded this usb driver from unrevoked.
But when i unzip (tried with winrar & 7zip) the file, i got this message:
C:\Users\**\Downloads\android-usb-driver.zip: CRC failed in Android USB Driver\amd64\WUDFUpdate_01007.dll. The file is corrupt
C:\Users\**\Downloads\android-usb-driver.zip: CRC failed in Android USB Driver\i386\WdfCoInstaller01007.dll. The file is corrupt
so i tried to update the driver software but, it failed..
How can i fix this?
Redownload it.
if it was that easy..
doesn't work
no you're just doing it wrong.. you need to select the ENTIRE folder, not just the sub-folders, so just select the usb driver folder, and check "include subfolders" and press next.
If you still can't do it or don't understand what I'm getting at you could try this.........
C:\Users\**\Downloads\android-usb-driver.zip: CRC failed in Android USB Driver\amd64\WUDFUpdate_01007.dll. The file is corrupt
C:\Users\**\Downloads\android-usb-driver.zip: CRC failed in Android USB Driver\i386\WdfCoInstaller01007.dll. The file is corrupt
I did what you said, but it is still saying the same: the file is corrupt. Doesn't it mean that theres a error in the file?
I also installed your link (htcdriver.exe)
* i might be wrong, but did you try it by yourself? unzip the file?
Try to get it from here:
http://unrevoked.com/rootwiki/doku.php/public/windows_hboot_driver_install
i did that..
And it did not work? Because i downloaded and extracted it - and no problems - also it installed.
I can create an md5 Sum for you, to see if your download is ok.
Here is the md5sum for the file Download from the Unrevoked Wiki:

you mean the hboot driver right? no it's not usually a common problem.. just follow this guide. When you are selecting the driver, make sure you select the entire folder (which contains 2 more sub folders), otherwise the driver will not install.
unless you mean the android-sdk, which you may get from here

Download drivers again with some download manager like JDownloader/Flashget.
are you selecting the entire folder, with the two subfolders i.e. the one called Android USB Driver.. and not just amd64 or i386..

By closing the Windows Explorer I mean just closing it with the red cross at the top.
NOT the explorer.exe process. The windows Explorer != Explorer.exe
lol... just re-restarted again my pc.... and noticed there is no watermark now....
hadn't done anything except install the latest graphic drivers... :s
Works great . Thank you .
Didn't work for me, any help?
I tried 2 times, but nothing changed.
First time I just closed all open explorer windows and copied-replaced with cmd.
The second time I ended explorer.exe process to be sure, the replacement was again succesful according to cmd messages, run mcbuilder (it took 10 seconds to complete), restarted but the watermark is still there.
32-bit English
It worked for me too..
Finally got it to work. I followed all the instructions posted with the file, then changed my theme from "Windows" to "Windows Basic". Now the watermark is gone and you can switch back to my previous "Windows" Theme
In my first reboot didnt worked, now it disappeared, thanks bro!

After installing these packages , Go to the place where you installed ANDROID SDK . IN MY CASE , IT IS :-
Code:
C:\Program files(x86)l\Android\android-sdk\tools
If you used a different install location, you’ll find DDMS in the tools directory, inside your ANDROID-SDK directory .....
MOST IMPORTANT :- To DDMS with your device , you must Enable USB DEBUGGING and you install your device driver's
1) you must enable USB debugging on it. You’ll find this option under Developer Options on your device’s Settings screen

2)You must install your device drivers :- Individual OEM USB drivers for windows are available for each manufacturer and are listed in the official document ..
After you have downloaded you device drivers, then we have to install on our pc. for that :-
a) connect the device to the computer
b) right click on MY COMPUTER and click manage
c) go to devices > other devices and right click on device and select update driver software.
d) you should see an option to " BROWSE MY COMPUTER FOR DRIVER SOFTWARE" , which you nedd to click on and point to the location of your device driver installation file..

To test whether DDMS is working properly, connect your Android device to your computer using a USB cable
..Now it will show the devices connected ..
Now that you have sucessfully installed DDMS and now we are good to go further..
NOW GO TO ANDROID FOLDER AND OPEN TOOLS
2)NOW RUN MONITOR.bat AS ADMINISTRATOR
3)NOW ANDROID DEBUG MONITOR WILL APPEAR ..
TIME TO TAKE A SCREENSHOT....
Troubleshooting ;-
sometimes it will not recognize a Device in recovery mode..So in this case ,either uninstall your device drivers and then reinstall it OR refresh your device list in the DDMS device panel..... GOOD LUCK TAKING A SCREENSHOT :fingers-crossed:
I am not from this section..just waned to share my guide in your section..heres a link to my original guide.... link = click me...!!

Dev notes
Full Unlock,
it was pretty easy, everyone used stupids toolkit that may work or not. Adb and fastboot are the most useful and powerful tools.
I've changed the order to unlock device that everyone used. Why first root, then recovery and then bootloader?? Do you need the keys to change a car engine? Nope, so it's the same thing for an android device. Fist I boot a recovery to get adb root (stock kernel doesn't allow it, but a recovery automatically give adb root acces even if phone is not rooted), then I'll push file to unlock bootloader to sdcard and then unlock it. After this I flash recovery, then flash any root package. Done! And it works with any rom.

About Lg L3 II,
apparently this device has no bootloader to imput fastboot commands needed for the full unlock, read notes inside bat file

About Lg L3,
this is the only device I own of the four I support... Now there's no recovery that allow both adb shell and sideload so I've to push every file to sdcard. When there will be a recovery where both adb shell and sideload are working I'll change a few lines of code and it will be OK.

About Crazy Mode,
it's made for crazy users that may brik their devices and make strange things with their pc. When crazy mode is enabled there's no way to quit it and it may lag your pc like hell (until reboot) so you won't be able to do anything because you're crazy and you may destroy something.
