Hi
I have a HTC Desire and gonna install CyanogenMod.
I'm following this tutorial (sorry, im not allowed to post links)"http :// wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/HTC_Desire_(GSM):_Full_Update_Guide" where i downloaded this usb driver from unrevoked.
But when i unzip (tried with winrar & 7zip) the file, i got this message:
C:\Users\**\Downloads\android-usb-driver.zip: CRC failed in Android USB Driver\amd64\WUDFUpdate_01007.dll. The file is corrupt
C:\Users\**\Downloads\android-usb-driver.zip: CRC failed in Android USB Driver\i386\WdfCoInstaller01007.dll. The file is corrupt
so i tried to update the driver software but, it failed..
How can i fix this?
Redownload it.
if it was that easy..
doesn't work
no you're just doing it wrong.. you need to select the ENTIRE folder, not just the sub-folders, so just select the usb driver folder, and check "include subfolders" and press next.
If you still can't do it or don't understand what I'm getting at you could try this.........
C:\Users\**\Downloads\android-usb-driver.zip: CRC failed in Android USB Driver\amd64\WUDFUpdate_01007.dll. The file is corrupt
C:\Users\**\Downloads\android-usb-driver.zip: CRC failed in Android USB Driver\i386\WdfCoInstaller01007.dll. The file is corrupt
I did what you said, but it is still saying the same: the file is corrupt. Doesn't it mean that theres a error in the file?
I also installed your link (htcdriver.exe)
* i might be wrong, but did you try it by yourself? unzip the file?
Try to get it from here:
http://unrevoked.com/rootwiki/doku.php/public/windows_hboot_driver_install
i did that..
And it did not work? Because i downloaded and extracted it - and no problems - also it installed.
I can create an md5 Sum for you, to see if your download is ok.
Here is the md5sum for the file Download from the Unrevoked Wiki:

The two numbers must be the same. So not right.
Did you get it from the unrevoked site which I linked a few posts before?
Yeah i did!

you mean the hboot driver right? no it's not usually a common problem.. just follow this guide. When you are selecting the driver, make sure you select the entire folder (which contains 2 more sub folders), otherwise the driver will not install.
unless you mean the android-sdk, which you may get from here
I'm really stuck at this stupid zip-file..
no one knows how i can fix this problem?

That's the problem.
Download drivers again with some download manager like JDownloader/Flashget.
are you selecting the entire folder, with the two subfolders i.e. the one called Android USB Driver.. and not just amd64 or i386..

I tried to flash 'RUU_Bravo_HTC_WWE_1.15.405.4_Radio_32.30.00.28U_4.05.00.11_release_122704.exe'
but it couldn't find the phone... says 'make sure usb cable connected'
am using unbranded phone.
Can't you get into recovery at all? (Assuming you used unrevoked you should be able to).
Then I'd do a full wipe/reflash from there.

I full wiped and reflashed at least 3 times, but that didn't fix the broken root
i want someone to help me find the right RUU for my phone
try this one:
RUU_Bravo_Froyo_HTC_WWE_2.09.405.8_Radio_32.43.00.32U_5.09.00.20_release_140022_signed.exe
you need a froyo.
1) Please post in the correct section first [Q&A, not DEV]
2) There's a selection of pre-rooted stock roms available via SEARCH at the top
3) Flash via renaming to update.zip and sticking on the root of your SD card
3a) If fails, name it pb99img.zip and do it via voldown+power
How you lost root rights and delete this directory? I think to you need Froyo release RUU

thank you very much for every one tried to help.
Guys if you are using Odin to flash Rom or Recovery on Windows 7 64 bit computer then make sure you put the ops and md5 files on the root of C:\
I was trying to flash the CWM recovery but it wasn't successful and when I tried to reboot my phone it was stuck on boot . Then from the instruction of a thread I moved my ops and md5 file to root of C:, and amazingly it worked like a charm.
I thought that I should share it with you guys.
Thanks

Thats true, it is some Windows permission issue I think. This doesnt't happen on all PCs, but if it happens it is the easiest solution.
Other programs have also issues with files in some directions/folders.
C:/ is just always mentioned because it is 99% a hard drive, and it has to be in the root of a hard drive(to be sure).

Haha,, you are right. However most of the modern applications that are being written in modern languages dont have such kind of problems. I think Odin is using very old windows API calls for handling files, but i am not sure about it as i dont have source code.

Perhaps, but as ODIN is Samsung tool, I just don't know....
If you look at Service Manual I upped some time ago, in Section 6 Level 1 Repair, you see Samsung use this Multi Downloader for their own service ppl tool........
[this is PDF in Google Docs]
sorry, the manual is all over the place, but ODIN is there!!!
But, as you can see, files could be anywhere, so I don't know.
Anyway, cheers, I have a cold beer waiting!!!!
not Guinness sorry to say

Thanks
Are you f**king kiding me?! At first I must root the phone. Please dont spam this thread. Thanks
Are you running it as administrator? If you do, please try simply launching it without admin rights.
And no, he is not "f**king kiding" you. You don't need root to flash a new ROM, you need custom recovery for that job.
Yes, I run it as administrator and I tried it without admin rights too. It just doesnt work.
In Linux it shows me:
downloading 'boot.img'... FAILED (status malformed (1 bytes))

And I know that I dont need root to flash a rom, but for flashing rom I need recovery and recovery needs root permissions. I rooted a lot of android devices and I know what I do and how it works. But this phone is really hard to root.
Thanks for reply
Try redownloading the boot.img, that's all I can think of.
You can also try this fastboot for Windows, it works fine with my Desire C.
Thanks
I think that in Windows is problem in drivers. Here is screen of drivers list:
As you can see (sorry, Iam from Slovakia and so I have Slovak language in Windows), I havent driver for Android Phone and I think that this is the main problem. But why it wont works in Linux?
I can try your fastboot but I think that it will not works because I havent Android Phone driver.
And in Linux, how I can redownloading boot.img?
Just download it again from Modaco. I think that is the problem.
And if you're interested I can give you drivers for Windows 8 that work with fastboot, being a little weird sometimes though.
Yes, when I double click on boot.img it shows me that the file is damaged. But I downloaded it from modaco again and it shows me that same.
I would like to ask you if you could me upload the drivers which works, because I would like to root this phone finally.
Thanks
I really hope your OS is 64 bit, turns out I don't have 32 bits drivers. I hope this can solve the problem, even though I doubt to(fingers crossed). If it doesn't work, then I really don't know what the problem could be.
YES!!! You are really fantastic! Thank you so much, finally my phone is rooted. Thank you so much
Whoa! Nice, I'm really glad I helped. :highfive:

Welcome to Sony. Reboot your comp and if it still doesn't show up then god knows.
Have you got latest version of flashtool installed?
Not near my pc, but am sure theres the option to browse for the ftf file in flashtool? Just make sure source folder is pointed to the firmware folder your ftf is in and flash.
