Hey Guys,
Actually i don't own the device, but my friend do...it is a Nokia XL ! Hmmm...So i'm here to ask you people a few question as i'm new to Nokai XL flashing thingies (Hey...i'm not newbie in android world, and i learn fast)
1.We need to unlock bootloader to be able to flash recovery,Where to obtain the Code to unlock and Which is the most reliable recovery?
2.Which is the most stable ROM available? (As it is my friend's phone and i don't want him to complain me for not working so and so )
3.any custom Kernels available? (As the kernel threads don't include XL)
Always Remember i have a Nokia XL (NOT X)
Edit :- Thanks for reading and trying to help me

Hello all,
I've managed to create a flashable script which unlocks the Vivo Xshot Ultimate (X710L) bootloader.
Requirements:
1) Root
2) Flahify app installed from PlayStore
3) Cofface custom recovery flashed
Download the script and flash it with the custom recovery.
Download link:

Do not try this on other device since it will not work and you will probably brick the phone since it rewrites bootloader code.

yes that would be great. even though I have to disagree about the Funtouch OS. I think it's excellent and I have used many phones...
Gr8 news about unlocked bootloader.
I hope it will start a little development for Vivo too

Indeed. I was looking for a method to unlock my Ultimate version for a few month but nobody troubled to help me.
I'm very happy that I found the thread about OnePlusOne bootloader unlock mentioned in my post and after I understood what was done there, it was easy to develop a similar script for my phone. Hats off to them again.
I tried to port some roms but it seems that it is not that easy and after a day of work it's kind of hard to return home and start reading so much threads. Porting a rom requires some time and since I managed to create the script to unlock the bootloader now I hope that people with more experience in porting roms will manage to create a custom rom for our Vivo phones (CM would be perfect). I still mantain my oppinion that the Find 7 CM would be easy to port for Vivo since the phones are almost identical.
Best regards
Thanks!
This method also works on mine,
which is an International version of vivo Xshot X710F (16GB/2GB Ram like an elite version)
BTW, I'm just translated the TWRP into English version, check it here!
I'm glad that this worked for you. Unfortunately I sold my XShot and I'm waiting for my Galaxy S6 to arrive. I'm glad that you managed to translate a custom recovery in english. I truly hope that people will start to develop custom roms for XShot sice it is a great phone with fabulous camera.
The link is dead... Can you please upload the file again?
link in main vivo xshot page
the link is dead.. but found the file on the main vivo xshot page =)

do you have linux and any experience in porting?
I don't have any experience in porting... but i want sailfish on my g3 to!
I've always wanted to learn how to port ROMs. The few times I've tried to follow guides and teach myself how to do it I'd have software issues and I'd just get frustrated and stop working on them altogether. It's been a while since I've last tried, I'd be willing to give it another go though.
I can help for the testing on the d852

Hello,
First of all I draw my hat from all the developers who create ROMs, and this volunteer, so that our smartphones can benefit from a passage towards Android Nougat.
I use the ROM LineageOS/CM14.1 (update of 08/05/2017) which I am very happy with.
However, one thing I miss on this ROM : the ability to manage the disconnection of a sim, in the case of a dual sim smartphone? (for me for exemple Lenovo k5 A6020A40). This possibility exists on the STOCK ROM.
I have been searching for several days on the net if someone has found a solution. A priori no : no application on play store usable on Android Nougat.
Shreps (which I thank for the time it takes to respond to the newbies like me, and to improve the custom rom) answered me on a thread that it would be a "core" modification of the ROM Lineage .
For my part I would be interested in this modification, and ready to pay a donation of 30 € for the dev team who was found a solution (This is a small amount, but my means are limited ).
If other people are interested, and willing to also make a donation, it might eventually bring together enough money to thank the developers for the extra time they would spend on this change, If they have the time to do it of course.
I don't know if it's possible to constitute a "prize pool" which would thank a team for his work. I only saw the possibility of making a donation to a particular developer.
This dual sim management modification could possibly in addition benefit other Dual Sim Smartphones, and developer teams.
Thank you in advance for your answers.
Have a good day.
PS: sorry for this bad English : translation software

Hello,
where is the similarity with the theme of this thread?
Have a good day.
I also would be very interested in this functionnality in a custom rom (lineageOS, AOKP, ResurrectionRemix....) :good:
Hi all, I found this thread : https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/app-multisim-toggle-t2830647

Hello,
I just tried the application. Does not work for me. Black screen after startup. My Lenovo k5 does not offer me to enter the pin code of sim cards.
I would have tried. So strongly that Androïd moves on its side, so that the developers of XDA or Lineage can make us a change in SIM management.
I have no doubt that they will succeed, when I see all that they can achieve.
Have a good day.
Hi all, I also tried the Play Store apps, and it seems there is a kernel concern too. I tried this app : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=pt.joaormf.mtkcontrol.free&hl=fr
It seems to work when I'm on stock ROM, but in my Resurrection Remix M ROM with Vegito kernel, it has absolutely no effect...

Hi,
I have already tried this application. But does not work at all with the Custom Lineage rom. And with the stock rom (5.1 rom) it is unnecessary in my case because it manages perfectly the individual disconnection of the sim.
I saw on the Lineage forums that many of us are asking for this function to return to the Nougat ROM (And Lineage ROM of course).
Let's wait and see if a solution is found.
Have a good day.

I totally agree, but I tried anyway and it seems to work.
It proves that there is something in the drivers or kernel to manage this.

OK,
Thank you for your reply. I do not know if this comes from drivers or kernel (not enough computer knowledge to judge).
Hopefully someone finds a solution. I promised to send 30 euros of donation. I would do it when the solution is found.
Have a good day.
Hello guys , recently i purchased Nextbit Robin, after seeing its interface i was little bit surprised because it came with CyanogenMod (6.0) preinstalled not Stock marshmallow ... I'm facing wierd issues like data consumption issues .... Instant Messaging apps are using very high data & in data consumption tab Android OS is consuming very high
I don't want to use this rom because of above mentioned issues , and battery backup is not good ...
Plz can anyone help me in installing stock MM/N??
Hi there, well i'll assume that you bought a used Nextbit Robin, in that case you have two options.
1-. you can get it back to stock following this post on Razer official page:
https://insider.razerzone.com/index.php?threads/robin-factory-images-and-usb-driver.21487/
2-. you can install whatever other rom you want to try ie: paranoid, lineage, omni or carbonRom. just to mention some of them
in case you bought it like new you should speak with your seller
As @pay_omar said you likely bought used so I too would highly recommend you to install the stock firmware asap and stop using the old CM you never know what the earlier owner or the seller have done with that custom ROM.

Can i flash the above ROM with TWRP?? Because currently TWRP is installed in my phone and which partitions should i wipe?
What if i flashed this rom through ADB ?? will it be a clean flash ??
EDIT : Flashed Stock N , Thank you
I just bought a used Note 5 AI (Pro? Gold?) yesterday 4/64 version on stock 11.0.3.0
While I've used a few Android phones in the past none of them has been a MIUI based Xiaomi so a couple (or more questions)
What process should I go about flashing a custom ROM on this device?
I read there's a software / security protection kind of thing on these phones - not all but some of them - I forget the actual name. Should I disable that first or go straight to bootloader unlocking?
I'm trying for a hassle-free switch over so I don't mess something up (like I usually do) and have to fix it before getting on to using it
Also, anyone care to recommend a ROM I could try that works flawlessly out of the box?
you can directly unlock bootloader from bootloader unlocking software from xiaomi and wait for few hours
---------- Post added at 07:42 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:40 AM ----------
use lineageOS or PixelExperience or HavocOS

just add ur mi account and unlock your bootloader then flash custom recovery (Orange fox is best)
no protection is there and make sure u format ur data as some custom rom requires decrypted data
All done. Thank you! I was basically worried about the anti-rollback feature, that's why I asked.
