Application (or modification of ROM ?) For dual sim disconnection management - Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus Questions & Answers

Hello,
First of all I draw my hat from all the developers who create ROMs, and this volunteer, so that our smartphones can benefit from a passage towards Android Nougat.
I use the ROM LineageOS/CM14.1 (update of 08/05/2017) which I am very happy with.
However, one thing I miss on this ROM : the ability to manage the disconnection of a sim, in the case of a dual sim smartphone? (for me for exemple Lenovo k5 A6020A40). This possibility exists on the STOCK ROM.
I have been searching for several days on the net if someone has found a solution. A priori no : no application on play store usable on Android Nougat.
Shreps (which I thank for the time it takes to respond to the newbies like me, and to improve the custom rom) answered me on a thread that it would be a "core" modification of the ROM Lineage .
For my part I would be interested in this modification, and ready to pay a donation of 30 € for the dev team who was found a solution (This is a small amount, but my means are limited ).
If other people are interested, and willing to also make a donation, it might eventually bring together enough money to thank the developers for the extra time they would spend on this change, If they have the time to do it of course.
I don't know if it's possible to constitute a "prize pool" which would thank a team for his work. I only saw the possibility of making a donation to a particular developer.
This dual sim management modification could possibly in addition benefit other Dual Sim Smartphones, and developer teams.
Thank you in advance for your answers.
Have a good day.
PS: sorry for this bad English : translation software

Hello,
where is the similarity with the theme of this thread?
Have a good day.

I also would be very interested in this functionnality in a custom rom (lineageOS, AOKP, ResurrectionRemix....) :good:

Hi all, I found this thread : https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/app-multisim-toggle-t2830647

Hello,
I just tried the application. Does not work for me. Black screen after startup. My Lenovo k5 does not offer me to enter the pin code of sim cards.
I would have tried. So strongly that Androïd moves on its side, so that the developers of XDA or Lineage can make us a change in SIM management.
I have no doubt that they will succeed, when I see all that they can achieve.
Have a good day.

Hi all, I also tried the Play Store apps, and it seems there is a kernel concern too. I tried this app : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=pt.joaormf.mtkcontrol.free&hl=fr
It seems to work when I'm on stock ROM, but in my Resurrection Remix M ROM with Vegito kernel, it has absolutely no effect...

Hi,
I have already tried this application. But does not work at all with the Custom Lineage rom. And with the stock rom (5.1 rom) it is unnecessary in my case because it manages perfectly the individual disconnection of the sim.
I saw on the Lineage forums that many of us are asking for this function to return to the Nougat ROM (And Lineage ROM of course).
Let's wait and see if a solution is found.
Have a good day.

I totally agree, but I tried anyway and it seems to work.
It proves that there is something in the drivers or kernel to manage this.

OK,
Thank you for your reply. I do not know if this comes from drivers or kernel (not enough computer knowledge to judge).
Hopefully someone finds a solution. I promised to send 30 euros of donation. I would do it when the solution is found.

Question about the lg Health
I did install your latest rom, and it is awesome.
The only gripes i had with it is that the battery life was a little worst than the stock 4.4.2 from lg and the fact that the lg health app was registering more calories burned than the stock app, about 1/3 more ( 10km of walking used to show about 390 calories burned, but with your previous rom, it went to 600 calories ) Not sure if it is something you can fix or have fixed in this new one as I will test this as soon as I can.
Thanks for your hard word and congrats on the collab ( bought you a beer earlier )
Good ROM, but after install everything is like in Kickoff's screenshots, except icons - they are still stock.
I'm getting this error on every reboot. I don't really mind it but I just wanted to report it.
hi friends, i'm a newbie . i would know if in this rom are included the gapps.

Rom is a bit.. Slow?
Hello. I'm not here ti judge, of course, I just wanted some information. I downloaded and flashed this Rom yesterday, along with Spiderio Battery Saver mod. When I first installed it, for the first 5-10 minutes I found it a bit laggy, honestly. I have tried almost every Rom, both Stock based and CM based, but, I don't know why, this is the slowest one I have tried. Moreover, I once had a freeze for 10 seconds on my phone (never happened before) and also a Launcher crash for my Action Launcher 3, which never actually crashed before. I'm not here to complain, of course, I'm writing this message because I would like to ask you if this is normal. I know the developer of this Rom is really famous, and everyone greeted him for creating this wonderful Rom, but I have found it too laggy for me. I flashed it like I did with the others, with a clean full-wiped flash, since I don't trust dirty flashes, but I'm not really enjoying it, as I'm having the same experiences I had with this phone when it first came out, with the first version of the stock Rom. Could I kindly have some explanations or suggestions about this, if I'm not asking for too much? That would be really, kindly appreciated, since i trust the developer and think that his jobs are great, I don't just want to change Rom as if it was made by a random user. Thanks in advance, I wish you a good day.
Hi thx for the rom !!!
No lag for me.
Just to notice you , in menu the quickcircle cover settings is not here.
SO far everything is ok.
Sorry to post here ... not 10 message so far
@Kickoff On navigation bar, checklist for auto brightness screen is always thick. But function for auto brightness is run well, just checklist is always thick on my G3. Is it bugs ?

Dont install the spiderio battery mod anymore because LG made it's own improvents in 20H compared to 20F. I had lags too with spiderio's mod but not anymore after flashing this rom without the mod.

Questions about rooting from a noob.

Hi guys, I'm thinking of buying an LG G4 because it's gotten very cheap now and I want to use it as my daily driver.
I'll be getting the international version and I want to root my phone before properly setting it up. The reason for this is that I want xposed to make some ui changes as I feel the G4's ui is horrible (no offence). I've heard I'll need a custom kernel, twrp recovery, unlocked bootloader and root access.
I've also heard that with custom roms you lose functionality to things such as the IR blaster and the amazing camera app and all its settings. Is that true? If that is the case, I'd rather keep on stock rom with xposed helping me make the UI bearable.
My question is what would I exactly need to do? (with kernels, recovery, bootloaders etc I have only rooted a device once and it was 4 years ago so I have forgotten the basics plus it seems the whole process has become very tough now) The only end product I want is to run the xposed while retaining the IR blaster functionality and the camera app etc.
I have tried going through some videos on youtube but I found them vague, a little different from what I wanted or I saw a few comments talking about how the phone was bricked or stuck in bootloop.

Hi buddy , if your phone comes and it's on lollipop the type in Google " root lg g4 lollipop xda " but if it arrives on marshmallow then type " root lg g4 marshmallow xda " as for losing functions like the IR blaster and camera , I'm using latest Genisys ROM marshmallow version with the Imperium kernel and I have all my features still working they will only stop working if you flash a ROM which isn't based on LG for example Cyanogen or blisspop things like that....
If I have helped please leave a thumbs up!

Hi, thanks for the reply! How is the performance compared to the stock rom? What other benefits does a g4 based rom give?
Also, I still find the process a little confusing. Am I supposed to root first, unlock bootloader or install a recovery. Also what are the chances of bricking my phone?

Well first of all the performance depends there are options when installing different kernels which will give you better speed or better battery life the choices will be written in the kernel or ROMs description , the other benefits are debloated ROMs which means the software on the phone has been reduced to free up space and get rid of useless stuff and other little UI tweaks it just depends which ROM you choose as for the process you unlock your bootloader first via lg devs official site then depending on how you root will depend when you root it I'll explain , if your phone arrives and its on lollipop then use low effort root but if it comes and its on marshmallow then you use systemless root method and I won't bull**** ya pal the chances of messing your phone up is about 30 percent just make sure you follow every single step very carefully , the reason I said 30 percent is because if you're on lollipop then it's easier in my opinion to restore your phone by flashing the .kdz stock file for your phone ( the .kdz will make your phone like you bought it)
If my posts have helped please leave a thumbs up!

What are the advantages of the rom that you're using?
30 percent sounds like a lot, but are you saying that I can restore my phone even if I mess up the process?
Also can you link me to the methods?
The advantages of the ROM I'm using is good battery life with a good balanced performance also it has the LG G5 apps built in to it , and yes you can restore your phone as for the links to the methods I'm chatting to you on my tablet so gathering all the links would be quite hard they are easily found though for example if you are searching for low effort root then just type it in Google followed by xda so it looks like low effort root method xda , if you really want the links then I'll boot up my PC in the morning and I'll find them all for you , it's night time where I am so I'm going to bed soon I'll check your post though in the morning in case you have any more questions and as always please leave a thumbs up I greatly appreciate it , thanks buddy....

No problem mate, I found the link to the low effort btw.
So I'll have to unlock bootloader via the lg website first? then I'll have to install a custom recovery and then root? (or root and then install custom recovery?)
Also I was going through the thread of the rom you're using, and I saw the screenshots and they were pretty much the same as the lg ui (which I'm trying to run away from). Basically what I want is a stock android ui without losing the core functionality like the IR blaster and the camera app, knock code etc.
A question I have is do I have to change the kernel etc while rooting my device or can I just use the stock kernel?
I just did all of these things this morning. I posted my steps here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/general/howto-complete-guide-to-unlock-twrp-t3370003
I personally stopped installing custom ROMs since Xposed. It lets use keep the phone as it is out of the box but add in just the changes we want. With many custom ROMs, there are always bugs so you'll have to update them and that can mean resetting your device. You then have to install all your apps and settings again.
I tried to make the above guide as noob friendly as possible and it hopefully shouldn't require any reading outside of the thread.

Why did you make a new thread? Is it because this will become the thread for official lineage? And if so where will the other ROMs be posted? On the nexus7420 site? Sorry for the questions but hopefully the answers clear everything up.

For being official, we need a "clear" thread. That means that we need to have a thread only for LOS and separate ones for other ROMs.
Congrats on going official team :good:
Wouldn't it have been best to wait till you're given the greenlight or does a topic need to be made first (then turned official)?

Hi,
To be honest I don't get the situation with official /unofficial yet. Didn't you post yesterday, that you pushed/moved your sources to the lineageos github project itself? So then why is there a build server and your own github link here? Shouldn't that lead to official builds on the lineageos page?
My second question is: you ask for donations especially for a build server for you own nexusrom which seems to be a fork of lineageos. I'd really like to donate there to support your further work, but you don't describe how that works.
Finally : I'm currently on your april/23 build and with the audio patch you provided that is working great. The only problem open is, that VoLTE is not working for me. Do you have any plans for this? If you need someone to debug there let me know, though currently I'm not able to even activate it.
Finally : thank you very very much for your great work.

It clearly states in the title that these are UNOFFICIAL builds.
No word of donations is mentioned on the thread.
VoLTE will not work as this is not implemented by LineageOS.
Thank you guys for all your hard work. Im going to try this out on g925t with duelboot. Hope calling works now?
Setup wizard force closes on rr and lineage on mu g926t. I flashed them with duelboot and it happened so i tried a clean install and it still happened.

Please read again the title: only for G920F and G925F. No G926T...
Edit: Did you mean dualboot? If yes then you need to know that it may create instability in the multibooted ROMs. For me everything works
I got it working with duelboot. I just flashed the ROM without gapps, booted it and then went back and flashed gapps. Thanx again developers!
Great rom, i love it, except for the obvious bugs. Anyway, i can't turn on my bluetooth speaker remotely anymore. The manufacturer website says you need BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) for that, does anyone know if that's a LOS bug?

Calling still likely won't work. There's binary blobs missing and we need a different kernel.

Hello thanks hogger,
There's something called courtesy. When it's really clear that Davide was working on AEX and fixing things, it was a bad move for you to post a build with his sources before he posted his build. He is focusing on quality and trying to fix all major bugs before releasing instead of giving people half baked stuff. So I'd suggest you get this thread closed and not pull such stuff in the future.
Regards,
Another person who was able to boot oreo but is waiting for Davide to release his stuff first
So far, loving the ROM. I've been waiting for this ROM for a long time now. And here are few things
Cons:
VoLTE not working
Recents tiles are inverted
Camera doesn't work as expected.
Heating can be expected.
Pros:
Smooth for an initial build
Android O, period
Its simple and clean.
Hi sir,
Your work is amazing, i can't even imagine how you managed to fork my great and better than you fellow friend Davide's device trees and compiled the rom.
Truly amazing sir.
I admire your work, I still can't think how much brains would it be needed for making an unofficial thread even when Davide(my great and better than you fellow friend) didn't gave a word of quitting the AospExtended.
You are truly awesome and Davide's(my great and better than you fellow friend) work will not be as good as yours i think.
Thanks a lot for your true hardwork rather than Davide's(my great and better than you fellow friend) simple bug fixing work.
Thanks again.
I wanna donate you rather than donating hard working Davide(my great and better than you fellow friend)

Any OFFICIAL LineageOS 14.1 users?

Long story short, I'm looking for the most stable and refined custom ROM for the MZP. I'm currently using Alberto97's AOSP 8.1 and while everything is working fine, it isn't really that refined. As it is ported from what I guess is the Google Pixel, the OS thinks that the device is a Google Pixel. For example, when I set up the device, it shows the banner "Finish setting up your Pixel". Also, when I register my fingerprint to unlock the device, the setup shows to use the index finger and touch the sensor located on the rear of the device (like the Pixel's). Charging with the phone powered off is also bugged, as it shows nothing but "Charging ??/100". I know these may seem like small things, but I'm a person with extreme attention to detail (almost borderline OCD) and things like these just bug the hell out of me, even though it isn't the devs fault at all (mad respect to Alberto).
Basically, I want a custom ROM that is MADE for the device, not ported. If you guys get what I mean. Polished is the word, I guess.
Seeing as LineageOS 14.1 is officially supported, do these cosmetic flaws exist? Can any LOS users confirm this? I apologize for bugging this sub with my stupid questions, I just want to settle with my phone once and for all.
Thank you to all for your help!

Hi there,
None of the cosmetic flaws you said exist on the official LineageOS 14.1 ROM. I'm using it for several months now and it is certainly the most polished ROM created for this device.
By the way, I've tested weeks ago Alberto97's AOSP 8.1 and it was a weak experience. It wasn't optimized as I expected, some of the animations were jerky and I noticed multiple bugs.
I definitely recommend using LineageOS 14.1 ROM if you want a good experience. Also, I recommend using 7.1 ROMs instead of 8.0's/8.1's. They are way more stable and optimized.
If you have any question, feel free to ask.

Sweet, thanks a lot man! I'm going to flash it right now.
Sadly, the flash failed It appears that it doesn't support the Oreo bootloader

What is the error?
Did you flash the official or soak test 8.0 rom before?

ERROR 7, my bootloader is not supported
I updated to official 8.0.0 Oreo by sideloading the OTA

Oh yeah, that's bad.
You should post a message regarding this issue on the Official Lineage 14.1 topic to make the developper aware. I think that's not hard to make the bootloader compatible, it should be some parameters to change

I've been trying to Google ways on how to contact the maintainer but I can't seem to find out how. Can you help me by sending a link on how to message the dev?

I contacted the maintainer and he said it's not as simple as that, as there may be incompatibilities with a bootloader from a different Android version. We're messaging each other for the past few days and he sent me a test build. The flash succeeded, though we are unable to make it boot up.

I asked him yesterday but he said that it's against rules to ask for ETAs (even when I only asked him if it would come out, I didn't ask when :/)
Read the thread, one user already posted his email address here, though don't even try to ask him stuff like that again as surely he will link that to me.

The dev (mccreary) just fixed the issue and official LineageOS 14.1 will now be compatible for Oreo bootloaders on the next build (May 2).
I have sideloaded the Oreo OTA on stock firmware.
Now i want to go back using LineageOS 14.1, anyway to do it?

Happy to know that the developer fixed the issue @djdelarosa25. Well, it was a great idea to send him an e-mail.

Lineage 14.1 is Nougat based and it will not flash as it will display bootloader error while flashing in twrp. Wait for Lineage 15 or as djdelarosa25 said [/COLOR]

Is there any news for Lineage 15? I am kinda use to Oreo so I am looking for an Oreo ROM. I like AOSP no doubt but I'd also like to try a ROM that is build from scratch for MZP only.

Yeah, thanks for helping me, man! The dev was really cool - replies, debugs, and compiles really quickly as well. Talk about pro.

I already asked him if it was in the works and he said don't ask for ETAs. I asked him again today and told him I wasn't asking for a date, just a confirmation if LOS 15 is in the works. We'll see what he says.
EDIT: So it counts as an ETA then. He said we'll just see it come out (so I guess it is in the works). But I wouldn't worry that much, the dev works really fast.
and yeah, I like a ROM that was made for the MZP as well. As much as I like Alberto's ROM, a ROM built from scratch > a port (though LOS 14.1 is Alberto's work as well). It's a pity he quit development of it.
