Hi
Just saw this Thanko 10x telephoto lens:
http://www.xperiablog.net/2011/06/10/xperia-arc-gets-10x-telephoto-lens/#more-1407
Sure its a gimmick, but if it is only about €17 (quoted in the article) I'd be interested in trying it out and the stand could be handy anyway. It looks a lot easier to set up than the other one in the Accessories sub-forum here.
Trouble is, I can't find any info about where to buy it (or any Thanko products). Googling brings up some products by Thanko but nothing that helps me get any further.
If anyone has any info or tips about where to get it, I'd appreciate it.
As far as i got with it was at this site:
http://cs-epoch.com/
You will have to contact them for pricing and delivery.
Thanks for the link Macr59 - looks like the one.
But my bad, I didn't realise that the product I'm talking about (the Thanko one) is the same as the other one in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1078413
I didn't notice all of the gubbins to clamp it on to the phone at first. It looked a lot simpler and less ugly in black when I first saw it but I think it is the same one.
Anyway, will post back if I get my hands on one.

Nah, those are two different products. The body kits and lenses look completely different.
I'd wait to see some sample pics of the thanko one before i purchased. The one linked to in the other thread has some sample pics, and theyre appallingly bad.
I was searching the web for a disassembly guide for my Nexus, so i could see how it's put together...
http://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/Samsung-Galaxy-Nexus-Teardown/7182/1
I found a website with has some nice teardown pictures of it in high QUALITY.
what do you think of how its put together ???
i noticed that the back cover actually goes up around the screen, and I would have liked that the side of the cover was fitted a bit tighter ??
some places you can actually take a thin piece of paper and slide down between the screen and the cover itself ??? its not like you can see the "gab" but do anybody think its a problem ???
Good find! Thanks for posting the link.
Teardown and guides for the CDMA Galaxy Nexus,

Just wanted to share this, can someone here confirm if they already used this product? I think this will answer the terrible screen protection options for the galaxy nexus. =) Might grab one and try it for myself =)

i am really interested in this product , but i couldn't find any review or a real test
only see unboxings and scratch tests
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JUbt3Y0Lh8M
thats a scratch test
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XxQno3R4Ixw&feature=related
manufacturer video (how to apply and such)
s'all i found anyways
edit: found it on amazon and ordered it. i hate all the options for screen protection atm so why not
I just got some from Amazon too, I'll post back when I get it.
Any first hand reviews (other than those on YouTube) would be great. I have a GhostArmour shield installed right now and I don't mind it so much, but this looks amazing!
I am just a little nervous that this doesn't seem to be removable if I don't like it... which with the GNex screen isn't good at all!
hmmm, this looks really good. I'm gonna go ahead and order some for myself too.
I just ordered an XO skins screen protector. But this looking intriguing! I wonder if I can return it and pickup a bottle of this.
Would love to see more!
Hey guys just did a quick look around online and also found this company making a similar product, the company is Liquid Defender.
http://liquiddefender.com/main.sc
interesting , i am skeptical though.
Ill keep an eye on thread.
Can you post the amazon link plz, seems I'm too dumb to find it
EDIT*** I don't know if I would trust liquid defender... From their website: "but it also featuring the ability to form a protective coating" do they proofread? Also their instructions state to apply the product in a clockwise motion while their video shows them applying it in a counter clockwise motion (why would it matter?)...
i'm interested aswell, ill keep an eye on this thread.

All the videos and directions I saw said do NOT apply in clockwise OR counter-clockwise... Only apply in ONE direction, up to down, down to up, left to right, right to left.... no circles...
I think they might have pushed this to market a little quick and might be getting their PR and documentation a little mixed up.
The emergence of another product with similar performance makes me wonder if we are seeing the next "wet-apply" style revolution. Someone figured out the next best thing and this is the beginning of the new trend
on their website there is a "hard-shield" and a "liquid armor".
both the same?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think they are the same, the Hard-Shield is apparently the new name they've given for the "Liquid Armor."

yup they are same..pulled this frm their site:
(Note: HARD-SHIELD formal name is LIQUID-ARMOR, HARD-SHIELD packs by clamshell with same formula as LIQUID-ARMOR)
the scratch test uses the same items to scratch a naked GN as in the other youtube videos that say the nexus won't scratch. Key/ screwdriver. so why is this better? How do you replace it?
Can you remove this if it gets scratched?
I want to see them do a real scratch test.
1. Apply the liquid-armor.
2. Scratch it with sandpaper (to simulate sand getting in your pocket or something)
3. Remove it???
4. Show that the screen underneath the liquid-armor has not been scratched.
5. Apply new liquid-armor.
If you cannot remove it after it is scratched, it is worse than an xo-skins or plastic protector, which are removable.
If only I can have the item as fast I can, I can try making a review and test using different kinds of camera lens filters. Can someone post a link from Amazon? I've been searching for it and to no avail =(

There you go, I ordered one already as well with the free shipping. Expedited or 2 day is way too overpriced...

If you want me to review other cases, just click on one of the adverts in the you tube video (it's free), after that just close the tab that would have just opened, just that simple thing will allow me to get more cases to review for you.

Just so you know, that's a violation of the youtube agreement. Nice videos though.

Thanks, I didn't know that, I've just removed it
I stumbled onto some amazing design guides from Apple detailing the dimensions, sensors, speakers and buttons of their portable devices. It even includes some amazing drawings of the devices. I really want to try and make a 3d printable snap-on case [search thingiverse for iphone] but there'sno way I can accurately measure my NG with the simple tools I have on hand here.
Does anyone know if Samsung or Google provide such documents? About an hour of searching at Samsung.com and google.com/nexus yielded nothing usable.
To check out the apple documentation, check the Apple web site, and search for developers and cases. I'm too new to post any links.
Thanks for the assistance!
