I stumbled onto some amazing design guides from Apple detailing the dimensions, sensors, speakers and buttons of their portable devices. It even includes some amazing drawings of the devices. I really want to try and make a 3d printable snap-on case [search thingiverse for iphone] but there'sno way I can accurately measure my NG with the simple tools I have on hand here.
Does anyone know if Samsung or Google provide such documents? About an hour of searching at Samsung.com and google.com/nexus yielded nothing usable.
To check out the apple documentation, check the Apple web site, and search for developers and cases. I'm too new to post any links.
Thanks for the assistance!

A while back I saw a vid on this new compound d30..lots of youtube vids on it, amazing stuff. Anyways, seeing how they designed a case for the iphone, thought I would shoot them an email...just got the response..http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j4uMTZWh0Rc&feature=fvw
Hi John,
Thank you for contacting Tech21, your interest in our revolutionary products and the heads up.
As of yet, we do not have any protection for the Sprint evo4g. This is next on our list, though.
If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact me.
In the meantime, for the latest news and updates, why not visit our website or follow us on twitter or become a fan on facebook.

I'm supprised to see more people aren't interested in this. The whole theory behind this design is to have something on your phone designed to absorb major impact, rather than transfer it. Anyone heard of carbon fiber? Now race car drivers can hit a wall at 200 mph and walk away. With the $500 investment and the high likleyhood of the phone hitting the concrete at one point, this stuff is pretty exciting.
This d30 stuff is starting to show up in a lot of different products. Many of which are personal protection. Theres a video out there of some guy wearing a beanie lined with this stuff, and another guy beating him over the head with a shovel. Not that I'm interested in trying that, but it seems like some pretty good stuff to make a phone case out of.
The material seems cool enough, I'd like to see the case in person to get a feel for what it's like.
I do like how the cases are slim and seem to offer decent protection, I'm kind of surprised that they would throw the phone onto rocks without any kind of screen protection, it seems an unlucky toss would result in a broken screen.
Before the s3 hit stateside I saw articles talking about a special s pen like device for the s3. Did it get canned because its not even listed on samsungs site. I googled it and the only things I found were the old articles from a few months ago.
Never mind. I found it (in the master accessory thread) it is on the Samsung site it just wasn't listed as an accessory for the sprint s3... would like to find a comprehensive review as YouTube yielded nothing that really helped me out.
You mean the C-Pen? It's just an oversized, overpriced capacitive stylus with a smaller than usual rubber nib. Nothing else special about it IMHO.
I reckon you'd be better of with one of the various Jots from Adonit. Though right now drawing is slightly laggy anyway, no matter what stylus you use.
If you mean some other new fangled stylus that isn't the C-Pen, don't mind me though.
I had been searching the forums \ internet for two days, and I could not get any answer on how good the companies Claim is.
I even posted the same thing on nexus thread and it had fallen on deaf ears!
the question is does those products REALLY protect, how much protection? is it a Placebo etc etc?
so how about this:
1- I will buy Phone Screen digitzer only.
2- get multiple product and apply them on sections of the glass, with one part without any substance.
3- let them dry.
4- Test across and check which one does a better job, or if it does better job than bare screen.
only problem in the plan is that it requires money:
so I can setup donation account just up to the value of those materials.
or even get sample from people who have some (it does not need to cover whole screen, only partial).
alternatively if high feedback user wants to do this instead, I can start by donating to him.
this experiment need to be unbiased, controlled, and well thought of. i.e. no companies donating products, or people defending what they bought.
also this experiment will not be only helpfull to the current gen product, it would help in the future phones that you would buy
ideally an article written on the main site etc to cover all aspects.
if this is against the rules then I am happy to delete the post.
I'm thinking this stuff might be of use in regards to slippery phones and cases (and many other uses).
I cannot determine if this needs to be mounted like Velcro or Dual Lock fasteners where you need two pieces opposite each other, or if one piece alone will work similar to grip tape. Most of the examples on the website seem to be those in which you mount some of the material to gloves, and another piece to a tool. The site does however mention that it can be used on sick-bed railings, so I'm thinking that's a use where gloves are not necessary.
I'm game to try some of the TEGS material, and why not, they're giving away free samples.
Here is a link to the manufacturer's website where you can obtain some free samples.

I don't know how much traffic this might deliver to their site, so I'd advise to get your request in soon. Who knows when they might end the offer!
Hey, if its no good for phone use, you'll probably be able to use it for something else...

I have searched a lot about car holders, especially for tablet ones. The problem is that it's hard to find good reviews on the internet and it's even harder to find out how stable or shaky the given holder is while driving, which is exactly the most important thing to me, also it should be universal. Here are some variants:
1. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Exogear-E...tem1c34c9bf1b&clk_rvr_id=520752103178&afsrc=1
2. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/XENOMIX-S...tem41768b0d4e&clk_rvr_id=520748726197&afsrc=1
3. http://www.ikross.com/IKHD12-Car-Dashboard-Mount-Holder-iPad-/-Tablet#
4. http://www.iottie.com/Product/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=970&ProductType=321
5. http://www.arkon.com/tablet-accessories/tablet-quick-release-sticky-dash-mount.html
I assume that in any case I will add some kind of shock absorbing material at needed places to reduce vibrations. I would appreciate any opinion from others, maybe someone has got an experience on these things?
Some reviews:

Arkon:

Arkon has really specialized equipment. Of course a full dock holder type is the best, but those are either expensive or not universal.
I guess I already replied to your question in AndroidForums (where you posted under Klaidonis, and I post under twister6) I'm active in both communities and mirror my reviews. So, just check out my reviews (either from the link I provided to you in AF or in my sig file here). You might want to try a few and see which one you like better?

Thanks a lot!
I bought that for my son's nexus 10:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0072LATE2/
Nothing to say about it except that it does the job perfectly. You can easily move it from one row of seats to another, even to another car. Attaching or detaching it takes just a few seconds. It's solid and doesn't shake when driving.

That headrest mount is AWESOME!!! I reviewed Slim Grip Ultra with that headrest extension here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2174449
Just in general, I reviewed a lot of car mounts (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2192333) and always look at overall pictures of quality and support, and it always narrows down to Arkon. Plus, for a lot of their latest products they have lifetime replacement policy if anything breaks - they will replace it at their own cost (that company been around for 25 years).

Thanks for the link. And I agree about Arkon: when searching for mounts I often end up choosing their stuff.
I recently bought an Arkon visor mount which I think is a nice alternative to the usual dash/windshield mount. Are you interested in me adding a review of it to your thread? I don't seem to find anything similar there.
