I got some apps that keeps turning on notification. and I have to turn it off after every update.. etc.. is there anyway to permanently disable notification per application?
Won't the "show notifications" check box stop this?
Settings>swipe left to the applications tab>application manager and select annoying app, uncheck "show notifications" under the force stop button.

I couldn't figure out how to disable the persistent notification for the power save feature in the stock rom, and as far as I know there isn't a way to do it through the settings menu. But if you download an app called "notifications off" and uncheck notifications for the settings app, then it goes away. Use some caution, though, I'm not sure that turning off ALL of the notifications from the settings app might not have some unexpected adverse effects.
Since we've been using our P6 we keep getting a notification that Whatsapp is currently a "power intensive" app. After clicking on the notification it takes me to the "Bkgd power-intensive apps" screen under the "power manager" menu where we can see Whatsapp at the top of the list with a red battery next to it, and "power intensive" under it. It's suggesting we close the app, so we do. Obviously Whatsapp needs to be running to receive messages so the service restarts. A bit later we get the notification again. If we disable Whatsapp from running in the background we don't receive any Whatsapp messages so it has to be left to run in the background. Does anyone know how to disable this notification, or has anyone else had this issue...!?
I've seen an ignore sign somewhere...

Yes I looked for 'ignore' but there wasn't one. I've seen 'ignore' on other notifications but not this one. Just waiting for it to pop up again, maybe take a screenshot.,,

What I did to stop the "power intensive" notification pupping every time is that; After entering >Power Manager >Background apps Manager > Just slide the "All" switch to the left to turn of all applications. Since then i have not receive the notification. I don't know if my apps have all stop working in the background but after a while i will confirm that.

How do you turn off Flipboard notifications? I'm tired of this app spamming me every day, I've tried going into the app going to profile, hitting the settings icon and then going to Push Notifications and unchecking all of the boxes but its still sending me the notifications!
Thanks.
Block it with debloater
Goto tablet settings, apps, find flipboard and turn off notifications, simple ☺

That's the problem, I use it daily, just hate the notifications. I have everything unchecked in settings and still they notify me. Ugh.
If the app is running in background you still get notifications, even with it disabled in settings, only way to stop it is to open recent apps and clear flipboard once youve stopped using it, this seems to happen with alot of apps, i get the same thing with news republic app

Android allowing notifications
The Blocking Mode on Galaxy devices lets you disable the entire notifications on your device, But how to disable notifications on Android for selected apps? follow the instruction to specify which application is allowed to show notifications on the status bar:
1. Open Settings and go to Application Manager (or Apps on some devices)
2. Now you should see the list of installed applications on your device
3. Tap the application you would like to disable notifications
4. Make sure "Show Notifications" is not checked

I also cleared data and signed out - some who still use FB may not want to go this far.
I'm so proud of myself. Some months ago, I started searching the Internet to find out how to end those annoying Flipboard notifications. Today, I was out searching, again. Somehow, I accidentally discovered the answer. And you'll flip when you read my solution! (Definitely, no pun intended. )
To disable Flipboard:
1. Go to your notifications.
2. Find a recent Flipboard notification item and touch and hold the notification item.
This action should take you directly to the app's notifications settings. At the very top is the option to disable Flipboard's notifications.
This worked in my Sansung Galaxy S7, but I see no reason it shouldn't work for other devices/users who are disgusted with the annoyance.
Does anyone have issues with pop up notifications on top of the screen for some apps? Some app notifications pop on top of the screen but for some app only the statusbar notification works. Anyone knows a fix for this.

try Heads-up Notifications by Simen.codes from playstore
Hey thanks for that buddy. The app working. But why is it not working for some app and not for others by default, should be an error right?

I had the same problem. I have some apps set to a silent notification; I still want to get the pop-up but I don't want to be interrupted. Seems to be a bug in either Samsung's or Google's implementation of the pop-up notification system. If you use the "silent" or no sound option, you won't get a pop-up. They might have tied the event listener to an audio file.
Fix: I downloaded a blank .mp3 and added that to my notification folder. It technically 'plays' a sound and triggers the pop-up. The default or built-in "Silent" doesn't seem to work, but a silent mp3 file works fine .
There are several notifications that are annoying to say the least.
We have a lot of control to handle app notifications that appear, but this is a system notification it seems, I can't identify what system feature is triggering the alert, then of course disabling it.
Running the Oreo Beta on a fresh install.
One of the notifications is: "blah blah app is using the battery, select for more details..." or something to that affect. It is a Android system notification, but I can't figure out what triggers that one and how to disable it.
Example, Life 360 app running in the background all the time, the alert will randomly show in the notification bar. Just swiping down and looking at it often makes it go away, I don't select it, or I just clear the alerts with the bars at the bottom.
Thanks
Go to Google Play and search for an app called "Hide 'running in the background' Notification" by iboalali.
Awesome. Thanks
