Does anyone have issues with pop up notifications on top of the screen for some apps? Some app notifications pop on top of the screen but for some app only the statusbar notification works. Anyone knows a fix for this.

try Heads-up Notifications by Simen.codes from playstore
Hey thanks for that buddy. The app working. But why is it not working for some app and not for others by default, should be an error right?

I had the same problem. I have some apps set to a silent notification; I still want to get the pop-up but I don't want to be interrupted. Seems to be a bug in either Samsung's or Google's implementation of the pop-up notification system. If you use the "silent" or no sound option, you won't get a pop-up. They might have tied the event listener to an audio file.
Fix: I downloaded a blank .mp3 and added that to my notification folder. It technically 'plays' a sound and triggers the pop-up. The default or built-in "Silent" doesn't seem to work, but a silent mp3 file works fine .

Having an issue with go sms pro which i'm sure some have had before; there is no vibration with notifications.
Now this is being caused because for some odd reason, system vibration is turned off, or so go sms says. There is no option in ANYWHERE to enable vibration in stock TW. I was able to fix this problem with my s3 by downloading a program called audiomanager, and setting it from within there, but as of new versions of this program, there doesn't seem to be an option for it in the free version.
So i come to you in a time of need. How in the world do i enable system vibration?! :crying:
Saw this on the tmobile website. Hope it helps:

I'm getting "Object not found!" on that url after a bit of trying to load whatever it is. Mind copy/pasting the details?

If you go into messages>menu>settings>scroll down to notifications setting and make sure vibrate is checked...... The phone will vibrate even when you are in sound mode. I cant figure out how to make it vibrate only in vibrate mode for messages. Hope this helps!!!

I assume you're talking about default messaging app, and it only works for itself. If i want to use another app like go sms, i'd need to uncheck notifications in that little area, also disabling vibration.
There is a master setting that needs to be enabled for it to work in go sms, but it's no where to be found.

Did you check under setting>my device>sound>vibration intensity ?
Gonna revive this old thread for anyone who is interested in this fix.
I've tried everything in this thread and nothing worked. I decided to go to the play store and search "system settings" in hopes that someone might have made an extended settings app for this reason. I came across an app called "Smart Settings". This app allows you to create custom profiles that have an on/off toggle for notification vibration; something current touchwiz versions, if not all android versions lack. All you need to do is create a custom profile with notification vibration set to on, enable, then uninstall. There's no other app or system option that will allow you to toggle the master notification vibration setting, so 3rd party apps like gosms will work flawlessly. Switching between built in vibrate only and sound on profiles do not effect the master system vibration option.
I hope this helps anyone with this issue. It was a pain in the ass to find something that actually worked.

Success! Thanks so much, there was an app I had used ages ago that did the same thing but then they made it pro only. I didn't uninstall but froze through Titanium Backup so it's there when I get flash happy and need to restore the vibrate. Now I won't miss all my damn texts.
Glad this helped at least one person out.

Is there a way of turning the notifications sound and/or vibration off on certain apps, like games?
I know that you can turn off the notifications completely by going to the app info, but I still want to get notifications in the drop-down, but not the sound/vibration.
Anyone managed to do this?
Thanks in advance!
Well if the application has the option to change the notification sound then you can use a silent tone for that, not sure about the vibration though.
maybe a file explorer could allow you to silence said applications.
just my two cents.

Some apps don't have this option in them. I was thinking of something like iOS dose it's notifications (don't get me wrong... I don't like iOS.
)?

Just installed Lollypop on my new M8. I can't find a way if turning off notifications on the lock screen but leaving them working on the notification bar.
The help says this.
"Lock screen notifications
Choose the types of notifications to show or hide on the lock screen. Go to Settings, and then tapSecurity.Under*Lock screen, tapNotification settings.Choose whether to show or hide notifications such as missed calls and text messages. "
But on mine, there is no "Notifications" under Lock Screen, just "Incoming Phone Calls". Has my install gone wrong? Do others have the correct menu item? Is there another way of turning off lock screen notifications?
Thanks.

Try this :
settings - security than reset your lockscreen. Reset it the way you want and it will ask you again to show notifications or not.
Worked for me for the lock pattern.
Thanks. That is one answer - I had answered to hide sensitive info but didn't like the opaque notifications. They'd be ok if they were transparent.
I've now found another way, not mentioned in the help and tips. Go to Sound & Notifications | When device is locked. However, that only gives on or off, not the sensitive info option.
I'd love to make them transparent again. Has anyone found a way of doing that?
I've also found you can turn them off app by app by pressing & holding the notification on the lock screen but then you never see another notification from that app until you turn it back on (Sound & Notifications | App Notifications).

Is there a way of making notifications on the lock screen (or the notification bar) transparent (or black)?

I absolutely love Textra and have grown quite attached to the interface and the pop-up notifications that are built in. I do however have one issue that I cannot seem to crack.
With pop up notifications enabled for both screen on and screen off I get the nice built textra pop-up window for both. This works fantastic with the screen on but with the screen off I receive both the textra pop-up and the system notification (default that links to textra). The only way I have been able to alevoage this is to shut off the textra notifications on the lock screen. This leaves me stuck with the more limited default pop-up. What I would like to be able to do is shut off the system notifications instead of textra.
I have always already blocked all "messages " (stock app) notifications and frozen the app.

On Textra settings check that you have both Notifications for Locked and Unlocked on with your preferred option, then go to Sounds and Notifications in the Phone Settings and go to App Notifications look for Textra and turn on the Block Notifications option, it will do what you want I have it exactly that way and it works great.
So I updated my note 4 recently with the two security updates that have been provided these past weeks. I began to notice that when I miss a call, the notification doesn't appear anywhere. It doesn't appear on my notification panel nor the lockscreen. The only way I know that I have a missed call is that I have the "unread" badge installed onto my Nova launcher. Anyone know why this is happening or is it just an update bug?

If you have any App like True Caller etc, Disable its Notification Access from below step
GoTo > Setting > Sound & Notification > Notification Access > Disable
