I'm anticipating delivery of my Nexus 7 tomorrow. Tho I'm not really the best geek, lately I prefer rooting (so I've got Chainfire's rooted Lollipop on my Nexus 4).
More than anything, I want to dual-boot Ubuntu Touch (14.04) along with a rooted Lollipop. Just from a few minutes' search, I get the feeling that Multirom is the best way to go about doing this, but I would love to hear from someone who's actually gone down this path -- even better if there's a how-to you might point me to.
Maybe better in Q&A section. Google is your friend

Good luck with this. I will be following even though I dont have any interest in having Ubuntu on my phone unless maybe in a dual boot function.
Well eventually thats what im shooting for.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=889433 <-- this is the thread for the hd2
but eventually once a stable build is created i want to have dual boot feature so.
Hoping the best for this with dual boot, thanks in advance for your efforts

This will be fully native right? As opposed to ones that use a vnc server/client?
Yes this will be fully native and evenually dual boot. Once a stable build is ready for release

Erm... "kernel"
why just because you can? i will follow this for knowledge but don't see the point ... isnt ubuntu making a moblie version of the os themselves with a possible hardware phone too? i dont think it really has a place ... never the less i wish you good luck
ubuntu would be best for tablets not phone imo
I'm not putting a desktop version of Ubuntu on the phones. And yes but its based on android GUI and android code. I am doing this because it becomes an option..... something different . And I had an hd2 the idea itself and the actual build was pretty interesting. But think about a mobile true Linux device. All the possabilities

Also I want to make point of this Ubuntu mobile OS will be similar to android with an effing unity interface. Personally I hate the unity interface. By porting Linux Ubuntu this opens the doors for things like idk for ex programming custom gui's. Ha aha if somebody wishes a true mobile hacking unit lol not that I support this fashion of hacking. But again its DIFFERENT. But all in due tine need to get through my exams

If I can propose something, please have the RTL8187 module already built in with USB host active!
Can't wait to see development!!!!
If you need beta testers let me know! I'm more than happy to help with this project.
Awesome idea USB functionality I already incorporated and I will let everyone know on a beta

Also, provide kernel source and headers so if anyone who wants to build new modules/drivers it will be easier!
I would look at Backtrack-ARM too. I am running it in chroot but having native would be awesome! If we can find elite engineers to convert our broadcom wifi and make it monitor/injection working would be like the n900 but with way more power and bigger/better screen for mobile pentesting!

Cant post in the thread, figured I'd ask it here
How come there is no option top pick browsers in aroma installer?
2nd question is it worth going to 4.2.2? how stable is it for a daily driver... how easy is it to revert back to stock?
Don't post questions in General. If you don't know what you are doing I suggest reading more.
Maybe cus you can just download then from the play store? And 4.2.2 is plenty stable, that's what I run and have been for awhile. But you lose all touch wiz fewtures, which I never used anyway.

Your whole file system will be screwed up in my opinion.
The only way I found out how to fix it was to do a full and complete factory reset.
Just my two cents
Current Devices: At&t Samsung Galaxy Note, Verizon Samsung Galaxy Nexus, Asus Google Nexus 7 Super Tablet
Current Roms: CleanROM Ace 4.6.1(Note 2), AOKP (Galaxy Nexus), Nexus 7 Stock
Sorry if this an obvious question, but I'd really like to know if I'd have to root/unlock it to flash some more recent Android version.
Speaking of which, how difficult is it to flash/unroot?
At least put an effort into researching.

No there are no roms for this tablet at this time.

Lmao post with no answer.. put some effort its just 2-3 keys "no" then "yes" WOOT!
No man not yet. They do have plans to.
It's true that the answer is a simple no. But I had to learn the hard way when I first jumped into this site a few years ago that people do not like to be asked questions that are easy to answer. You don't even have to look on this website. Simply look at the spec sheet on LG's website and you will see that it comes with 4.2 .2. There is already a rootkit out for the device but no roms at this time. I honestly don't think you need a newer version at this time. 4.2 .2 jelly bean does everything you need in my opinion. Otherwise get a Nexus device. I have a Nexus 4 running Kit Kat Paranoid Android and Franco kernel and I couldn't be happier. But when it comes to my tablet I just wanted for basic consumption and a stock Android is perfectly fine. Just my opinion.

What is it that you are going to gain from updating to 4.3? The bigger number? There is a lot more that can be improved in the ROM than going to 4.3

would like Android 4.3 or later to enable opengl es 3.0 support for games. Hopefully lg comes out with an update soon.
i would like to see cyanogen mod 11 or pac rom much more than official updates of LG

I have the tmobile version of the Galaxy Tab 3 , I've been doing some searching and I haven't really found much information on rooting installing CyanogenMod on this tablet.
I've read from some people that you can run the Sprint version of the roms on this tablet. But I haven't found a whole lotta info on that.
Being forced to run the ancient version of Android on this thing is really bugging me. A Lot of the apps I like to use don't work so any help in getting up to a more modern version of Android would be appreciated thank you in advance.

Really nothing helpful yet?
Apparently no devs out there purchased their tab3 from T-Mobile. Ah well, still a decent tablet.

It seems that way, it suck's....
Not much attention was given by developers to Galaxy Tab 3 or the current Tab 4 series in my opinion
I'm in this boat too. The only thing I've found useful for t217t was a debloat mod. I was hoping I could upgrade this this to 4.4.2 like my c916
Which debloat mod did you use? I have the t217a and I'm hoping your method will work for me too.
without root android users suffer the adware flavor of malware
I won't use andriod without user root to ensure privacy via my right to AdBlock or prevent analytics harvesting. Back to amazon with it.
This is my first post ever, so sorry if I get something wrong or miss something.
So I have a Nexus 7 (flo) and was running android 5.1 and I had to reset my tablet daily because it would become so slow and unresponsive.
Anyways, I took the leap and rooted my device and got CyanogenMod and was wondering what else I could do. anything would be appreciated. Thanks.
