TO CLEAR YOUR CONFUSIONS ABOUT GB KERNEL ICS AND FROYO KERNEL ICS
I have seen lot of confused user out there asking about which kernel to flash and stuff... So here u go read below...
So our beloved Awsome Developers make two types of nightlies
1-For DefyPlus(Can Also be used on Defy(RedLens))
These are the GB/CM9 kernel builds
These are found under /cm9-nightly-defy+/ folder of the servers which we have
To install these you need to follow the TuT to install ICS Defy Plus Above...
Green Lens Camera Wont work on these builds
2-For Regular Defy(Do not work on Defy plus)
These are Froyo/CM7 kernel Builds
These are found under /CM9-Nightly-Defy/ folder of the servers which we have.
To install these follow the TuT to install CM9 ICS FOR Defy stated above
3-Well there is no 3rd build(There is The MileStone2 Port by Walter79,But now that we have camera on our builds that one is not usefull...)

Feedback:--GodSlayer--:
Comes with Google Apps pre installed
Added Defy ROM Updater
Camera one step foward: There is shutter opening sound( or something of that sort ), Camera app doesn't just Force Close anymore. Still cannot connect to camera
UI is somewhat faster.
What is Defy ROM Updater?
A ROM Manager like app, it allows to
Check for updates
Perform all wipes( Davlik, app, data )
Backuping and Restoring the ROM
Entering Recovery Mode.
29-Jan-2012:
Feedback:--GodSlayer--:
UI is much faster
3G Works rather well
Added Interface: Launcher, Interface:Themes, Launcher:System in settings
Added Personal:Profiles in Settings
Added System:Performance in Settings
Camera very very soon - when you usually open camera, there is that sound, in this build, it has that sound but camera app force closes.
Added Music app( CyanogenMod 7 )
Added Dev Tools - ( don't remember it in previous version, perhaps I am mistaken )
12-Jan-2012:
-Fix wifi
-Dual Storage Notification
-APNs
11-Jan-2012:
-Fix sensors
-mms.apk
-music.apk
-pin-code...etc
good job...maybe you can make the same for maniac cm7 builds...

That's correct. I'll join forces as soon as I see a perspective for getting the camera to work. Unfortunately, that isn't the case at least at this moment.

I know that camera is far away from being fixed, but you could help eliminating other bugs from system...we could have a very stable system and when someone have an idea about fixing camera, we fix that too
Hi,
Many things are okay but sadly I can't make a single call.
how do you do to activate or deactivate the pin code (the setup option doesn't work on my defy) ?
Tx

It's known bug, it doesn't work at all.
You ought to disable PIN check if you want use ICS on defy at the momet.
But you cannot disable it on ICS

Works with multiboot?
edit:
Works ;D

[AOSP] Camera won't work...

I compiled Gingerbread AOSP from the guide in the Android development section and it built fine and it flashed, only the camera won't work. I open up the app and it just force closes, I tried taking the camera.apk and the libcamera libraries from Cyanogenmod, but still force closes.. Is there anything else that should be changed? (Kernel modules, etc)
Update: Would maybe using the boot.img from the Cyanogenmod update help?
Hi, i recon if you try posting in the dev section at http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=701 you may get a better response.

[Q] CM9.1 tweaks and tuning

hello there
i've found some tweaks for cm9 on other devices. i don't know if they are device specific or if i can flash some of these.
for example this one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=29407701#post29407701
and this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1926776
if there is a dev out there who can recommend some general tweaks (like for ram management). also vague hints are welcomed - i don't need a full package just to know what can generally be done with cm9 / ics to perform a little better.
thanks in advance :good:

CM9 Galaxy Y

Hi, I wonder when they will get cm9 stable for everyday use. or if there is any way to make it work the camera and audio and microphone?
I understand it's very difficult but I would like to have it.
there a ROM like this?
sorry for the bad English. thanks google translator
please dont create threads for this - we have a cm9 discussion thread
The answer to your question is not without building the libs from source - Current work is on cm11 and once all the sources work than it will be rolled out - Thats if it is managable - No ETAs
I refer you to these threads
