I attempted to root my phone using the method which I saw on another website.
I turned on usb debugging, installed all drivers and flashed .108 kernel. Flashtool said flashing was successful, but the phone turns on without the screen turning on. I know the phone is on because when I tried calling it, it started ringing.
I'm trying to flash back .157 but usb debugging seems to have turned off by itself, so now I have a dead Z1 compact, the day it got delivered .
Is there any possible solution to this? I have tried holding the power button and volume up button until it vibrates 3 times, but after waiting for 20 sec and turning the phone on, the screen still doesn't turn on.
Download and flash a stock ftf, that should do the trick.
You flashed the kernel for z1 (c69xx) I think and not for z1c (d55xx). Download the proper ones.

Hi,
I´m used Jelly sandwich 9.0 with Rush kernel 10 on ARC S. Today I flash kernel for CM 10 with flashtool, as I wanted to flash that ROM.
When I´m tried to strart phone with power button, phone vibrate and nothing else happened, stuck on black screen. I can´t go into CWM, or in to flash mode with back and volume buttons. In Flashtool there is message that device is disconnected. When I tried to start it again, nothnig happens. When I pull of battery and tried to start phone, phone only vibrate, and that´s all.
Can anyone help me?
Is the phone recognized by Windows when you plug it in?

No
Try switching it on and holding down the button that gets you into flash mode. I think it's the back button but I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong. The LED on the side where the power socket is should turn blue. if/when it does then plug it back in and see if Windows detects it and if so reflash the kernel (perhaps a different CWM one for the moment).
Or try the above with it already plugged in.
BTW I had something similar happen and Windows would not detect it. I plugged it into another PC/laptop and it detected it. Might also want to give your PC a shutdown/restart if you don't have access to another PC.
Sudenly, I menage to put phone in flash mode with back/volume buttons, and flash another kernel in ftf. Now everything is OK.
After I have this problem I put phone on charger (before that battery was on 40%), thinking that maybe this flashing of kernel drain battery to 0%, that phone couldn´t started.
Thank´s anyway.
I've been working on this damn thing for nearly 3 hours now trying to install Lupus V6 kernel with NXT 1.3 ROM. I try to get into the recovery and for whatever reason it doesn't work, so I shut the phone off. Now the damn thing doesn't respond to anything. No button presses, the power button won't work, nothing is lighting up. Did I hard brick my phone? If so I guess I'm out $165, but it was too short of a ride.
Before anybody asks, I'm 99% sure the battery is fine, it was nowhere near dead during any of my flash attempts.
First off did you unlock the bootloader before you attempt to flash the kernel?
Can you get into flash mode by holding the Search button while connecting to the USB cable while the phone is off? If you can, follow this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2054486 Except that the guide said to exclude the kernel, do not exclude it since you are trying to restore it.
Bootloader was unlocked by Alejandrissimo, yes. The phone, unfortunately won't respond to any type of button pushing or combination and nothing occurs if I just attach the phone to my computer via USB.
Did you install the drivers that come with flashtool ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2054486 ) then check in Device Manager that it found your device by holding either search or back button when you connected it?
Sent from XDA app
Did all of that a long time ago. I'm hoping it's fixed now. I slid out the gamepad a couple times and just let it sit without a battery for a bit, and when I put the battery back in it booted again.
Is there ANY reason though why it would stop booting?
I've been searching through the forums for a while now and I've not found a fault like mine unless I've just completely missed it but I have an xperia play now when I got it, I was told it was dead but when I connected the usb cable it lit up with the amber light and when I press the power button I get a short vibrate but nothing more. Nothing comes on screen and the sony PC companion keeps popping up telling me that my xperia play is connected and it continues to do so every 10 seconds or so until I disconnect it, the sound it makes when a usb device is connected and disconnected can get rather annoying after a while.
I tried reflashing it but that didn't work, I flashed it most recently with R800_4.0.2.A.0.79.ftf and before that with Xperia Play_Release_Generic UK.ftf but nothing seems to change it, at first I thought it could be hardware that was failing like the screen had died but that wouldn't explain it connecting and disconnecting from the laptop every 10 seconds or so and also in the past 2-3 weeks that I've been messing around with it, I've had the screen come on twice but I can't replicate what happened to make it work, it just seemed to come on randomly, I have however managed to kill it the same way each time by sliding the phone open and pressing the power button to lock screen, each time I pressed it with the phone slid up, it killed it back to no screen coming on and it connecting and disconnecting.
I can enter fastboot and tried to flash a kernel but it told me the phone needed to be rooted to do so and I can't find a guide telling me how to root it without having to change settings on the phone, which I can't do.
If anyone has had this problem before or can help it would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Is it flashtool telling you that you need to be rooted? If so then your bootloader isn't unlocked.

Yeah flashtool is telling me that when I'm trying to flash a new kernel. I assumed that the bootloader needed to be unlocked to enter fastboot? or that's at least what I've read while searching for a solution. Can it be unlocked without having to do anything on the phone?
Hi. I have an R800i which I rooted some time ago. Up until recently it has been running ICS with a Lupus kernel. I then flashed 2.3.3 UK ftf from here and it seemed to work. It prompted me for an OTA update and I started it. After downloading the update and rebooted, the phone displayed a black screen and a progress bar (nothing odd, seemed as though it was updating) and after a couple of minutes it turned off. Since then I haven't been able to turn the phone back on. I would press the power button and all it would do is briefly flash the green LED and vibrate, but that's about it. If I would hold the power button it would do that every couple of seconds. I cannot access the recovery menu either. It may be worth noting that by connecting the phone to my PC it would start in flashmode (blank screen), so I tried reflashing the same (and some other) ROMs using Flashtool but with the same result. Up until now, flashing ftfs through Flashtool seems to be the only thing I can still do. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
