Has anyone noticed that some ROMs don't recognize all media apps therefore not changing the musical track? For example Dudes Music Streamer on one ROM will change tracks with long press of volume but on another ROM it won't. Does this have to do with the key layout in the /system/user/keylayout? If so what do I need to tweak? Thanks.

I think is a MOD in some ROMs.

My up volume button is broke and now it don't click when volume up is pressed its essentially turned into a touch sensitive button, I've already been using the no volume keys mod from viper x on it but when music is playing even on screen off the volume keys work, does anyone know how to disable this? I'm sick of my music blaring when it's in my pocket, thanks

Just wanted to confirm that holding the volume up button is supposed to keep increasing the volume right?
When I hold the volume up button on mine it only increase the volume by one step, the same as if I just press it once. However my volume down button decreases the volume continuously.
Just want to do a quick check before I return it.
Thanks.

Yes it should go to max volume if you hold it down. Are you 100% stock?

Confirmed, when you hold the vol up or vol down it should go all the way up or down.
Thanks guys and yes it was complete stock. No root no unlock. I returned it since they don't have anymore stock for exchange.

When I first setup my note II, I set it so the home button WOULDN'T turn on the screen and the volume keys would change music tracks. When my screen was off, I could hold volume up/down and the screen would stay off and the music track would change accordingly.
Recently, when I hold a volume key, the track will change, but then the screen will unlock. I've edited the gpio-keys file, but that didn't do anything.
Is there any way to figure out why the volume keys are unlocking the screen?
What ROM because it may very based on what you're in

I have a headset with three buttons two of those are for volume. But we all know that these buttons won't work.
Is there any way to make the volume buttons work?

It works for the play button (single, double, and triple press) but not on the volume buttons. If i press the volume buttons, it acts just like the play button.
I think the device doesn't recognize volume buttons since the included headset in the device package doesn't have volume buttons.
So maybe there's a way (xposed module or flashable zips, etc) to make this device recognize volume buttons on headsets
