Hi,
I have the HTC One M8 Dual Sim Card international version and I bricked it.
It was rooted and had TWRP recovery and when the OTA update came out, whenever it restarts to install it, it goes into the recovery. So I decided to unroot it to install the update. While unrooting it and in the recovery, I accidentally formatted /system and /data. Essentially removing the OS and any necessary files to do a factory reset. And now it boots directly to the bootloader. Tried installing custom ROMs (Cyanogen, MaximusHD and ViperOneM8), all of which install successfully but still boots to the bootloader.
How can it be fixed?
Here are the details:
Code:
**TAMPERED**
**UNLOCKED**
M8_DUGL PVT SHIP S-ON

Fixed it. Thanks alot clsA for the help and the quick reply. Even though when I screwed up my phone that link you gave me was one of the first that I checked, I couldn't fix the phone. I tried flashing the zip files and totally did forgot that these are nandroid backups. Lol, might be the pills I'm taking.

Hi, i have a HTC Desire HD that can only boot to bootloader and recovery (CWM), when booting to system it stucks on the green htc logo with white background, and i can't use it.
I also tried with placing PD98IMG.zip in the sdcard root, the bootloader flashes it but the system still remains unbootable.
I was wondering if i can put it in S-OFF mode so that i can install a custom rom so that i can at least boot to the system and use the phone.
Is there a way to S-OFF my desire hd with recovery or bootloader=
Thanks in advance
What have you done to it to get it in that state? What does the bootloader say: is it locked or unlocked?

If you have unlocked bootloader you don't need S-OFF to flash Custom Roms..Just download .zip ROM, place it on sd card and in cwm chose "install zip from sd card" ... After that you must flash boot.img..Here is tutorial for everything I say: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2168500

Hi, thanks for your answer!
Unfortunately i got the phone in that state, i didn't pay it, a friend gave it to me because it doesn't boot and warranty is out of date.
I would like to "restore" it, the bootloader is unlocked, this is what i see:

Hi! Thanks for the tip.
I didn't know i have to also flash the boot.img, is it a Ace thing? because i also installed a custom rom on my galaxy s+ and i didn't have to flash the boot.img after flashing the custom ROM
The Ace unlock given by HTC is a partial unlock. It sounds like your other phone was a full unlock. And yes, flash the boot.img.

You need to re-unlock your bootloader, flash the ROM from recovery, and flash the boot.img from the ROM zip from fastboot.
Your s-on
Connect to computer then fastboot flash boot.IMG (from inside roms zip)
From the past
helpme please

what status you're bootloader phone..?
1. unlock with s-off or just 2. unlock but still s-on..?
if you're bootloader status (1)..then you just can install any new rom without manual flashing boot.img from rom.zip file it self..
but if you're bootloader status (2)..then you must do manual flashing that boot.img (extracted from rom.zip file) through fastboot with "fastboot flash boot boot.img" command from cmd after install any new rom (before booting new rom)..
hope you can understand my explanation..sorry for my bad english too..
Hello,
Thank you in advance for helping.
I can not install a custom ROM.
I started with a stock DHD unroot without bootloader and S-ON.
--> The bootloader has been unlocked via HTCDev
--> I installed via 'WinDroid HTC Universal Toolkit', TWRP recovery and SuperSU for root.
Despite the installation via the Recovery, the HTC logo stays on the white background and nothing happens, I've left the phone for 15 minutes as well.

Hi, i have HTC one M8 At&t and i loggin Fastboot, it show this:
Software status: official

OpenDSP-v47.2.2-00564-M8974_F0.1024
OS-3.42.502.1
eMMC-boot 2048mb
I can't do everything when i recovery, factory reset. It turn back Fastboot and do nothing.
I want install TWRP and root my device or flash rom ****.
Can you help me for this?
Just flash TWRP when connected in fastboot and then use TWRP to root/flash a new ROM
i just flash TWRP. It compele but i into recovery it turn back Fastboot again.
Can you show me what the TWRP version for my divice? It is 2.8.4.0?
If that's the one flashed then that's the one you have. Usually it'll reboot back to fastboot if you're using a new version on an old HBOOT but you should be OK
I have unlocked the bootloader with windroid, then I flashed TWRP recovery, then I flashed supersu zip file through TWRP to root my phone. Now I want to Unroot and relock the bootloader, but when I press 'Full Unroot' option in supersu it automatically reroots after a reboot. How can I unroot and relock the bootloader in my phone?
