help required for installing TWRP recovery.
Hi Guys
I have D855-HkG version with v10o kitkat version install, very uncommon version over lg g3. I want to move on lollipop but i didn't receive any OTA update. However, found new update after connecting with LG PC suite. Now i want to keep save my kitkat version too with modem settings, so that i can keep save my LTE carrier. but for that i need to install custom recovery.(TWRP). I have unrooted my phone quickly but not able to find TWRP version for D855 HKG version. Is HKG version and International 855 version same.? Any threats for installing TWRP / soft brick chances?
I will appreciate any help.
Looking forward for reply.

H815T is the hong kong version??
I have an H815T which originally had V10b-HKG-XX firmware on it. I used the international H815 V10c image to root it.
The only issue was that ExFAT support broke.
Yeah i belive it is the hong kong version seems to be what is sold in Oz as well.

LG-H815T is sold here in New Zealand as well.
Edit: just updated firmware to V10F-AUS-XX

I don't think it actually unlocks the bootloader; It just disables a layer of protection that prevents you from unlocking it.

I don't know, but it seems to work fine with the international H815 V10c image (aside from ExFAT).
Yes the bootloader is lock on the H815t I have been up all night trying to unlocked it! I have the device rooted but the bootloader unlocked provided by the LG Developer site does not appear to work on the -T model. When I put in my IMEI and Device ID it gives and error. I have reads hundreds of forum entries and I cannot find a way to unlocked the bootloader. Can anyone help???

Also I don't understand differences between global and europe versions, I live in Serbia (Europe) but my phone is v21a-TWN-XX (twn means Taiwan I think, I searched on google)

Go to this page http://lg-firmware-rom.com/
Download firmware according to your imei....put your imei in the search box you will find your kdz file......flash it with lg flashtool now for rooting at first you have to install kingroot gain temporary root then install autorec for mm d855 version go to recovery, flash Hacer Permisivo.zip and flash super su......all related file you will find here http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/root-twrp-marshmallow-d855-30b-t3286268 Remeber if you root in MM you have to format memory card into fat32 format otherwise it shows corrupted also you can't see your sim contacts you have to download sim contact app from playstore.

Marshmallow hasn't been released for TWN-XX yet. The last update was 21 a. However, you can flash a Hong Kong firmware since it belongs to the same region as Taiwan does. I did it last year, and it has been working almost flawlessly.

If your flashing a stock firmware are u still wanting root and recovery? Or pure stock. If pure stock just flash your stock ROM through lg up. And if you are going that route don't flash a ROM for a 855 because it flashes boot and recovery partitions you'll end up with a paperweight.

The letter in the firmware after the V20 is model specific... also probably depends on how many internal builds they needed/made before publishing.
So... your V20b of the AS998 could be newer than the V20c of the US998. Or similar... (even though they most likely around the same age)

I understand your point -- but US998 doesn't have 20C, it is on 20A. And it was released AFTER the AS998 KDZ.

That's my point, AS998 is already ahead -- at least in alphabet letters. It's on 20B.
What V30 models is he seeing 20C on? They may be out there, I'm just curious which ones. And as you said, due to model differences it's not the same. But AS998 and US998 are both carrier unlocked variants.

As long as it’s same region just open/unbranded all should be good..
But you won’t or may not get anymore OTA updates.
Forget this clean android pie korean firmware. I can confirm that for dual sim lg g7+ the network does not work - no calls, no data. IDK if it works for single sim, but reverting to another firmware brings back the network.
LG is still testing the PIE Beta for European LG G7 ThinQ G710EM - LMG710EM-V18b-EUR-XX-MAR-xx-2019
