Hmm miui should flash. But with beanstalk andriod 4.4 u need latest 4ext v1.0.0.6 or latest twrp recovery to flash them. Have u got a ext partition on ur sdcard for a2sd scripts? what hboot have u got? Is it stock or something else like cm7r2?

Maybe you have bad sectors NAND memory, which in ROM android 2.x were not used. HTC Desire is showing its age, NAND has a limited number of write cycles correct.

I had this problem since Desire was new, so i think it's not a problem.
It would be nice, you put all the information about your hardware and bootloader, instead of giving a little of the next post.
----- P.S. ----------
So you could have a faulty NAND from the beginning. Then, in 2010, you should submit your Desire for warranty repair.

Installation is not the same as flashing.
Flash ROM, turn off the phone, remove the battery and SD card, insert the battery, start the phone.
If KK starts for the first time, it is only when the installation is completed successfully rom.
Did u update ur recovery yet? KK roms wont flash until u do. Update ur recovery to latest 4ext then repartition ur sdcard with 4ext or gparted only. U could also have a bad partition which will cause problems.

Yesterday, I decided to flash a MIUI (beta) rom, but I am stuck on the 'shiny android boot loading screen'. Before flashing the ROM I had Wiped all user DATA/CACHE/DALVIK-CACHE/EXT and all other as well as formatting my SD card to the following:
HTML:
Swap Size: 0MB
EXT 4: 1GB
No matter what I do, whether it's pulling out the battery and leaving it or wipe cache again it just gets stuck on the same old boot screen doing nothing.
Here are my phone specs:
HTML:
S-OFF PVT1 Revolutionary
HBOOT-6.93.1002
RADIO-5.17.05.23
I know I dob't have USB Brick because it works fine and I can boot into Recovery and Bootloader/FastBoot. I don't understand why this has happened as I had flashed a MIUI ROM 2 months agao and everything went well, it could be that my H-BOOT is different or I have S-OFF.
Please help me resolve this issue.
Many Thanks.
Latest version happened to do the same for me.
I just flashed it a couple of times. It works now.
The strangest thing was, that it was no bootloop or any error - it just sat there for infinity.
Does the Rom require a different hboot? Or might it need an ext 3 partition?

Yes, that is what is happening here, but I flashed it several times and no go. The setup seems so quick to be installed...it only lasts 40 seconds and says it's complete.

I have no idea, surely not?
I have alpharev sense HBOOT, but MIUI should work with all others (except for oxygen/oxygenr2)
I'd recommend to download the .zip again and check md5 sum - then flash again.
Which version of MIUI is it that you flashed?
Mine has to have an EXT3 partition or it wont work ..
EDIT:
/facepalm
I can't believe I expected the ROM to be installed just by flashing the 'Pack' which I didn't reliase is just an language pack. I thought the term 'Pack' meant everything including the ROM, lol.

Hello all!
Yesterday I decided I wanted to try the latest RCMix ROM (v2.2b). Usually I do the update from ROM Manager, but it informed me there was a new version to download so I downloaded it.
Anyway, I proceeded with it and installed the ROM and everything went fine, until it rebooted, which it then just hung on the s-off boot screen. I waited for an hour but to no avail so had to take out the battery.
So, I tried to do it again manually by doing a factory wipe/clear cache/clear dalvik cache and flashed again, but again, same thing happened even though it said it had installed ok. I tried doing this 5 times before I gave up (although leaving 20 minutes on the boot screen before giving up each time)
Next I decided that maybe it was the new version of the ROM, so I downloaded the v2.1 of it, but still got the same problem, so then I decided to try my original one (v2.0) because it worked fine previously, but this also didn't work!
Finally, I decided I best try a different ROM altogether, so I tried the LeeDroid ROM (which I've used in the past, albeit a previous version), but this also has the same problem.
So, I'm a bit stuck what to do, hence why I've had to post on here. I've read that the latest clockworkmod recovery has some issues, does this still apply? Could this be the cause of my problem? I've tried finding a previous version of clockworkmod to install via sd card to test it out, but had no luck finding one.
Does anyone else have any suggestions on what I can do? Please bare in mind that I'm not very good with all the technical side of this so please try keep it as simple as possible for me!
My phone recovery says the following:
AlphaRev CM7 r2
BRAVO PVT1 SHIP S-OFF
HBOOT-6.93.1002
MICROP-031d
TOUCH PANEL-SYNW0101
RADIO-5.10.05.23
ClockworkMod Recovery v5.0.2.0
Thanks in advance for your help

I'm going to remember this for the future!
After me being impatient (you'll probably be disheartened to hear) I've decided to go the stock way to try get me back to the beginning. After a lot of messing around (reformatting sd-card and placing files on it via a laptop which had the files put on there via USB flash drive!) I think I've managed to get it down to stock again. The bootloader screen thingy says:
BRAVO UNKNOWN SHIP S-ON
HBOOT-0.75.0000
MICROP-031d
TOUCH PANEL-SYNW0101
RADIO-4.05.00.11
and when I try select the RECOVERY option it just displays the red triangle (I believe this is because it's not rooted or something (can't currently remember how got it working last time)?)
The problem now though is I would have though I should be able to boot normally now? What happens is when I press the power button it just goes straight into the bootlader screen.
At the triangle, you press vol UP + Power to get to stock recovery. Cant do much there but factory reset though.
did you fastboot flash the downgrader.img from Alpharev before running the RUU?

I've just tried the following RUU after doing a factory reset:
RUU_Bravo_HTC_Europe_1.15.405.3_Radio_32.30.00.28U_4.05.00.11_release_121865
However when going through the instructions it said that my current image is:
2.29.405.5
I proceeded anyway by pressing Update, and it ended up with the following error:
ERROR[140]: BOOTLOADER VERSION ERROR
From what I've quickly googled, it sounds like I got that error because the RUU I was trying to install was less than the one currently installed? If so then how can I get one that is newer as I can't see any newer ones than that!
EDIT: I'll try using the one you suggested again

Wahey, you'll be pleased to know it's worked! Thank you all for your time and patience with me. Got to admit I thought I was doomed!
Hello all,
This is the first time I encounter a dilemma like that!
I've been flashing ROMs for more than 6 months, changing recoveries, switching between different Hboot without a single problem. But now, I have this:
I found out that the old Hboot files had the version of 0.93.1000 and the new ones has version 6.93.1002. I flashed RunnyMede V5 stock Hboot by sebastiaan15, and it worked fine (on stock Hboot version 0.93.1000). Now I want to try the cm7r2 version of the ROM, so I flashed cm7r2 Hboot using the command line in windows (as I always do), then wiped and formatted everything (cache, dalvik, data, system...) and flashed the ROM but I am stuck on the first HTC boot screen (green font on white background) for a whole night.
I changed the recovery from RA 2.0.1 to ClockworkMod 5.0.2.0 to 4EXT but with no luck. My SD card is class 6 and partitioned with fat32 and 1GB ext4.
And by the way if I flash the new stock Hboot (version 6.93.1002) and try to install the stock Hboot version of sebastiaan15's RunnyMede V5 (the one that worked for me on the old Hboot version 0.93.1000) I am also stuck on the first boot screen!
I would really appreciate it if anyone can help.
Thank you.
Maybe your sd partition corrupted.

rootSU, i formatted the whole sd card and repartitioned it but with no luck. I believe that the sd card is not corrupted as now am using the old stock hboot version and the rom is working perfectly.

It is 16GB class 6, partitioned with 1 GB ext4, and the rest for fat32. And it was partitioned with 4EXT recovery.
Yesterday I installed RunnyMede V5.2 stock Hboot version on my old Hboot (version 0.93.1000) and it is working perfectly. I still haven't tried the cm7r2 version of the ROM, I would like to try it but I really want to know if anyone has a solution for the case I posted in the first post. The reason that makes me want to try the cm7r2 version is the more internal space I need.
The RunnyMede V5 stock Hboot didn't work on the new stock Hboot (6.93.1002), and that is what's really confusing me!!
Thanks for help guys.
EDIT:
I just tried this:
Backed up my current ROM (RunnyMede V5.2 installed on stock Hboot 0.93.1000), flashed the new stock Hboot (6.93.1002) the way alpharev site said, then wiped everything and restored the backup, still stuck on the first boot screen!!

Let me get this first...
I am now on stoch hboot version 0.93.1000, what I have to do is:
1. Flash cm7 Hboot.
2. Flash cm7r2 Hboot.
3. Flash the ROM.
Right?
Concerning my sd card, it is well partitioned as I mentioned before, the ext4 and fat32 are working properly on my current rom (RunnyMede V5.2 stock Hboot), so the sd card is not the issue.

If this is what you have then you don't have the cm7r2 hboot. At the top of the Bootloader it should say "AlphaRev CM7 r2" in pink.
To install this hboot, download it from the alpharev site (http://alpharev.nl/). Make sure it's the "Download" one, not the PB99IMG" one.
Download Android Flasher (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=794638) and use it to install the new hboot.

After I flash the cm7r2 either with android flasher or with the way alpharev site describes, then install the RunnyMede V5.2 cm7r2 version, after the first boot it is stuck on HTC boot screen... This is the problem am facing with every rom I install with the new hboot versions (6.93.1002).

Well, if CM7 boots there must be something wrong with your sd. Try to completely wipe and reformat it with Gparted, then create an ext4 (1gb) followed by a fat32 partition. If this still doesn't work, it means the sd must be corrupt and you have to use another one.
Edit:
Or yes, it could be a bad download as zedmarcus said. I thought you checked the MD5 hashes before flashing

I guess it's stock. And 4ext is good, you can do it with that. The usual setup is Fat32 + 1GB ext3/4, depends on the ROM you'd like to flash.
Well now I have two options :
Remove all partitions and start from scratch
No - save my fat32 partition!
Which to choose if I want to install any sense 3.5/3.0 rom?
Also , thanks for helping me.

I have no idea, I never used that recovery. But first, save everything to your computer that would be missed (pictures, videos), also backup your apps if you like and save those as well. Then I think you should start from scratch. Create the partitions, wipe everything and flash the ROM.
Well now I have 1st partition , 2nd one and after that swap or something.. maybe there's more I'm not sure and don't want to continue.. what's the size of each of them? Should I skip the 2nd and swap?

You need a primary Fat32 and a primary ext4 with the size of 1 GB at max. No swap.
So if I have 8gb card , fat32 should have 6573mb and the sd ext 1024mb?

Yap. Something like that.
Done.. Now all I need to do is flash the rom?
First wipe all data, cache and dalvik-cache. Then turn off verification signature in recovery and flash the ROM. But first, check the thread whether it has a stock hboot version or not.
Thanks for your help , everything is working now!
I wonder though , would Desire S Endyminion mod work on the Desire? If not can you recommend any good sense 3.5/3.0 ROM that is working flawlessly? Because Runnymede kinda sluggish.. I'll try cool3d aces v6.

No, I don't think it will work. Check the Desire Index link in my sig, it's up to date and makes it easy to navigate among the ROMs.
Hi all
ok, I don't know what's wrong with my HTC Desire
I can install custom ROMs , but every ROM which has htc sense does not work ! other ROMs which aren't with htc sense , work perfectly
I mean , the installations went ok , but when I turn on my phone it freezes at joker picture (I mean that popular s-off picture)
I carefully followed the installation guide , but no success ! in past I could install ROMs with htc sense , it about 2 or 3 months that I can't install custom roms with htc sense
I even changed the Radio and recovery version , but again I achieved no success
I'm limited to those ROMs which are without htc sense
can anyone help me to install a ROM with htc sense ? what's wrong with my phone ?
any answer is appreciated
thank you
Any details? Hboot and sd-ext?

Partition your sd-card. Use 4ext recovery or Gparted to make a 1 gb ext4 partition.

Turn off your phone, press Power and Volume button and you'll get to HBOOT screen.
Hey, did you reformat your sd-card or try another one?

yeah , hboot is installed
I also formatted ext4 partition through recovery , but it didn't change any thing ! the same problem still persists
as I mentiend I only can't install ROMs with htc sense ! other ROMs are being installed well
is it possbile that some how the boot of the phone is corrupted ?

Phone does not have permanent "boot". It is flashed with the rom.
There's nothing corrupted.
If you don't know how hboot works, and never changed it, then you probably have stock hboot.
What did you partition your sd-card with?
thanks for reply
I made ext4 partition with a sofware which is called minitool partition.

then this is your exact problem, do not use minitool
this is why your sense roms havent been booting, minitool doesn't make the paritition properly (happened to me as well). other roms can work without a partition which is why they booted, then you need to flash a script to make apps use the partition.
only use gparted or 4ext recovery to make your ext4 partition, as they make them properly aligned.
backup your sd card first, then repartition, and copy everything back. i recommend gparted, step 5 here.
thank you eddiehk6 for reply
I've give a try and post the result
